this record offers up a selection of services and styles that would cater to varying tastes, with the dance floor in mind.
on the top coat (a-side) the artist takes a simple loop and manages to turn it into 5 minutes of euphoria that will get your entire body moving, whereas the second track soundtracks you leaving our london based salon with everything on point.
on the base coat (b-side) the energy comes down a few notches to a warmer serene state before rounding this record off with a track that will see those freshly preened and polished gel tips curled into a fist in the middle of the dance floor straight through til morning.

here we have the first release on husten. husten is a new label from apiento (aka paul byrne) from test pressing. ‘the orange place’ by apiento & co was originally released on world unknown and from there became a favourite with everyone from todd terje and andrew weatherall and the balearic crowd. apiento asked wolf mu&#776,,ller to have a play with the track and here we are. wolf mu&#776,,ller is from du&#776,,sseldorf. he made his name as a dj at the infamous salon des amateurs and from there as a producer for labels like themes for great cities and collaborator with the likes of young marco as young wolf

speed boat is eden burns, one half of dunedin house duo sandboards, who brightened up 2016 with heavyweight releases on feel my bicep and cold tonic. splitting off for the first release under his solo moniker, speed boat applies the base coat to new label the nail shop with a gliding four track ep for the imprint’s debut release, that makes the foot-tapping accompaniment to an afternoon waiting for your nails to dry.
the vibe is in the name, as ‘speed tools’ packs a mighty punch, featuring skittering percussion, steady-movin’ bass and infectiously sensual pads that effortless take the forefront. just don’t be surprised if it swoops you straight from the salon onto the dancefloor.

the durian brothers consist of rising polyrhythmic talent dont dj, outernational adventurer harmonious thelonious and salon des amateurs resident marc matter. following their excellent outings on kontra-musik and diskant, the experimental trio build on a burgeoning relationship with emotional response by gathering together some of the best of their intense, globetrotting sounds. theres a great focus on cyclical rhythms, not least on the wonderful planete sauvage, while mille yeaux takes a more spacious, groovy route through wooden percussion and pinging organic tones. considering the scarcity of the original diskant pressings of these tracks, this collection couldnt come quickly enough.

hauschkas first releases of 2012 come in the form of two stunning remix 12 inches that are pitched at the dancefloor and kick off a wider project of reinterpretations of his last full-length. here, ep1 sees two serious heavyweights of minimal techno delivering very different, yet complentary versions. this 12 inch is the first of two vinyl-only eps, running in advance of a full album of electronically-angled remixes of >salon des amateurs<.

toby deschamps under his alias jackbox, delivers a freaky minimal techno release for pick time and aftehours lovers. the three tracks set a straight groove with huge baseline, finely surrounded by synthetisers waves, ufo like, and by heavy home-made voices. those voices could make you think after dan bell or even a voice coming straight from somewhere out of the space in a science fiction movie. if you are a regular guest of the klub der visionär you know how it can be spacy on this kitchen floor. anyway, over there, you might have heard toby playing in the past years at his monthly party drop out or for other occasions.then, the tracks of this release are familiar to you as there are some classics from him he likes to play to get people in his music spiral. generaly it can last 12 hours! enjoy the trip.

funky and laid back jazz constructed house tracks with spacy dimension by dewalta. we are very happy to release such a fantastic long player which keeps alive our dear paris-berlin connection and our taste for subtle melange between jazz and house music. both tracks malbec and syrah will bring you far on the dancefloor like a good wine does with its fine and deep flavours of fruits and whatever it can tell about the history of its ground. david koch under his artist name dewalta persuades first on the a side with malbec. a dry clap introduces to the affair, short followed by a kick and a driving funky deep baseline which could be far enough to convince any dj fan of minimal hypnotic loops. having set up that strong base, he plays then carefully some light but brillant layers of jazzy arrangements. santé! syrah, follows up in a more trippy way performing a jazzy and elegant journey which destination is certainly somewhere in the cosmos. mastered and cutted by mike grinser at the berlin studio man made mastering.

new single of the parisian trio on the franco-german label. the first track called dcl is a floating piece combining beautifull organ chords and breaking funky beats, setting on one hand a kind of religious scene and on the other hand giving the feeling to be a stream train at full speed! this is the track choosed by moritz piske, who did a jackin freaky remix out of it. got back is the other original track from the antislash. groovy baseline which reminds the remix they did for ribadisco on the salon records 02. avas verden put her voice with lyrics from her rockband lipstick, following the freaky acid lines. after their killer remix for tin man last year, we qre very happy to release this new project from antislash.

next detroit - chicago bomb by echonomist. incl huge john dimas remix. like an aficionado of acid house echonomist returns with a stormer on third wave. this time his hyped chord progressions resolve into a groove that is more or less a reminiscence of the hacienda days. dans mon salon sings in black shades >i feel for you<, >to lock with a groove that i crave for<. a praise to jack, a praise to the way of jack. ultimately, >jack had a groove. and from this groove came the grooves of all grooves<… john dimas goes deeper underground with a simple primitive like pulsating groove. the insistent bass line tone (that slowly unravels an opening filter) clearly connects to old skool techniques of acid house masters.

the first official release by the berlin duo, samanta fox aka daniel frank gizzie iii and jean-daniel tömör. they hold a residency in berlins famed salon - zur wilden renate where they do their bi-weekly whiskey tango foxtrott night. prior to being involved in samanta fox, jean-daniel was known as lazymouth with his partner thomas tietz. what a woman needs is the foxy duos first step into the production world together and encompasses what the boys to convey in their eclectic, yet forward thinking dj sets. a tr-808 tom driven bass-line and ghostly strings move the track along while a 909 high hat/kick drum combo keep the rhythm flowing.the b-side is a remix by the swift. the swift is also one of renates residents and his bi-monthly voyage voyage night brings a premium list of emerging artists to the berlin club scene. witness his swiftness take the foxs a-side to another level of house. a floor burner for sure.

tin mans voice is infamous, romantic, an expression of love, life and beauty, but also slowly fades away, covered in sleaze. and so is his music, a melodic and rhythmically bass driven art work somewhere in between acid, house, electronica and synth pop. great. don t miss his album perfume which is set to release in spring 2011.

so what is the sound of progressive disco? well it captures the insane rhythm and the unforgiving driving beat that is instantly found in the funk of the early seventies but real disco music also had a formula that would guarantee the hottest djs success if played at the right time. that formula was a blend of up-tempo rhythm sections laden with south american percussion mixed with soulful vocals and orchestral strings - a symphony of sex, lust and love. we change the formula and focus on the rock, electronic and dub elements - slower, sleazy and fun.

leonel castillo is undoubtedly argentinas most gifted producer. while his releases remain extremely rare, his daily creations keep adding and adding onto the thousands of tracks he produced over the past 20 years. on this very special artist ep - leonel castillo, the great engineer, sets some intricate and complex rhythmics in motion, forging el salon de los espejos into a highly feverish hotbox of a record. get this right: no other man can develop such elaborate and throbbing patterns as he does. from his lucious grooves featured on sushitech, to the stripped aesthetics as heard on illian tape or even the dubby techno textures from his record last year on greener - needless to say, leonel covers a wide and complete musical range.

stevie kotey & max essa first salon de l herbe ep was released via electric minds in may 2008 providing a twisted journey of dub, disco and electronica and given the thumbs up world-wide by todays elite producers & djs . the standard continues with the 2nd ep, which sticks to the same theme in providing three deep and underground cuts. the live drums, guitars and slick arrangement provide a musical journey that sounds immense when piped through any decent club system. >1986< will provide a great vibe for any club while >1978 it felt great< & >guitars< balearic feel will be perfect for this summer. all in all three amazing tracks

steve kotey needs little introduction, head honcho of bear entertainment, an accomplished producer and a member of chicken lips. kotey is joined on this record by max essa. having previously released on paper recordings back in 2001 max also played guitar with the infamous, long distance runners. steve & max have delivered 3 beautiful records in the shape of the salon de l herbe series. this ep offers up everything good that is disco from the up tempo 1974 a side to the spaced out vibes of 1988. if that wasnt enough this 12inch release is finished off with a 3 rd track 1981 on the cosmic/balearic tip. the years may become confusing but with live drums, guitars and slick arrangement words cant do these productions justice. more to come from these two with a follow up in the salon de l herbe series dueto be released in june/july 08, exciting stuff!
