mika visited the moog sound-lab in april 2015. he made one his last known solo studio recordings in the form of two vinyl sized side long pieces. entitled “lydspor” - danish for ‘soundtrack’. mika worked almost exclusively with the lab’s moog modular system 55.
this uk sound -lab instrument is the sole protoype model (containing several golden filters) of moog’s recent sold out reverse-engineered edition (55 units only) recreating the 1970’s classic.
on completion of his sessions mika announced ‘i could work with this machine for the rest of my life….i would need nothing else”.
a second moog session was planned but tragically mika died in an accident in april 2017, shortly after he had approved the vinyl mastering.

having bared his ego back in may 2015 and then more of his skills on a contribution to the robsoul edits collection earlier this year, long time label buddy joss moog returns with a fresh selection of beats on ’triple loop’. belying its name, we’re treated to four new sure shots from moog who, reknowned in the art of sculpting perfect party jams, has delivered once again. the stripped and simple vocal loop of the title track opens the ep, followed by the warm, buzzing bass and smooth jazzy keys of ‘etincelles’. on the flip the frenchman funks things up and breaks out the snares. disco stabs, vocal drops and rasping hats are all woven together to emphasise the classic groove. these are the breaks… amen. back on the 4x4 to close and josh lets the piano lead the dance on the smooth and soulful finalé of his latest robsoul treat.

here we have the fourth and last reference of the “moog your body” series, in which, as always, we have 4 tracks from 4 different artists. for this release we team up with cream soda aka locked club, moscow based duo, that offers a particular vision of acid house with his track “one more night stand”, mixing low-fi jacking and hip-house in a record that will be the artists first vinyl giveaway. the next cut is 6tma’s, our franchise-man. his new mutant rave composition, “joan manuel serato”, more focused towards breaks and uk hardcore, is going to destroy the dance floor again.

Ç est donc tout naturellement que le 10 eme disques sera consacré à un nouveau venu, le jeune et talentueux paul cut et son basement jam ep. musicien classique et jazz de formation ce jeune homme nous fait découvrir son art du sampling au travers d’un disque résolument house.

robsoul release number 22 for joss moog and mister consistent just keeps rolling out the essential house flavours. ego is his latest collection of work and features four new originals from the frenchman, each with the sample rich touch that we have come to love. the diva licks of the title track and ep opener ego set the perfect funky vibe for the rest of the ep. raw wave sees us riding one, as the beach vibes flow, the keys stab and the chocolatey bassline melts. whos that ramps things up with its jackin action, skittish snare and cowbell, but counters with its smooth keys. a perfect combination. joss closes the party with an ode to a hero. nothing blurred here, just the utmost of respect.

nice price deal !!! 3rd volume of our series moog your body. and back with the same formula, 4 artists that have passed through the legendary club barcelona. the album kicks off with mind over matter from abandoned footwear, american exillon project that delights us with a theme idm cosmic touches that will make you dance endlessly acid. then tempest 303 one lysergic lash roy of the ravers attacking with all his cacharreria to offer his sound classic acid. on the flip side, we have the theme trapped in a fit of malaria of drvg cvltvre a slow-cooked dark and hypnotic acid pump. and finally, the issue of snuffo its killing me dismisses the disc with a dance track narcotic halfway between the acid house and the new beat.
