initially described as superlative 25th century electronic exotica by cowboy rhythmbox themselves, the fourth ep from phantasys in-house trouble and hitmakers received support from top jocks including dixon, jackmaster and marcel dettmann. now, i’s dynamic lead track is rejigged, expanded upon and shot through with analogue energy by two equally inventive producer pairings. fellow outsiders on the inside of the house of house, israels finest red axes take the first turn, coaxing the cosmos out of the original and allowing the bewildering vocal samples to lead the way through waves of more than pleasurable cosmic tension. soon, with the timing just right, feet to pedals and strobe to hand, the pair unleash a series of distorted guitar licks that blow dust off the stacks, even throwing in a sharp blast of their trademark surrealist vocals for extra freaky fx. on the flip, marvin and guy zone out and hone in on the originals ebm-indebted elements to contribute a trippy, wave-riding electro rework that oscillates irresistibly. teasing listeners with a playful, almost naive synth line, the mood shimmers instead with uncompromising acid, as the pair ultimately push the modulars into strange and hypnotic territories to get lost in.

originally released as part of eskimo recordings acclaimed compilation the red collection, dutch duo shmlsss train ride to the middle east has proven to be a perennial favourite with openminded djs attracted to its heady psychedelic brew of twisted disco and middle eastern sounds. now to kickstart 2018 eskimo are releasing the track on vinyl for the first time, complete with a brand new remix from marvin & guy.

marvin & guy presents their new ep

alex ferrazzi and matteo keemani a.k.a. blue mondays, longtime laterra friends and collaborators (with releases on sonar kollektiv, rebirth, snatch!, memento, manocalda as well), strike again. they do it, as usual, their very own way: shades of balearic flavours in there, but with a very dark and malicious twist. marvin & guy add some disco nuances (keeping it raw and obscure, though), while nick anthony simoncino delivers a solid, strict, gloomy dancefloor affair. no frills, mad quality.

italo-cosmonauts marvin & guy board life and death with superior conjunction. alessandro parlatore and marcello giordani’s four-tracker explores parallel worlds through expert synthesiser sequencing and cavernous vocals features. celestial melodies paired with athena’s stream of consciousness italian recital guarantees superior conjunction’s dance floor devastation. arpadia’s hypnotic theme compliments the title track’s restrained drama, while fantastic twins recital elevates the train of fantastic to an altered state of being. the ep is out on june 16th, right on time for this year’s life & death off sonar event in barcelona.

while we love to dance at correspondant, we have also been known to think from time to time to, so it s exciting for us to have been given the opportunity to combine the two things when presented with some new music from two of our favourite producers, marvin and guy. as such, correspondant 42 represents a more conceptual approach for the italian duo, informed by long countryside drives, the names of classic cars as learned from an illustrated childrens book, a yearning to move away from the pack of identikit dance music and a need to connect with their music in a physical way, as provided by the recorded hand clapping refrain running throughout the tracks.

2016 repress, this is the ep long waited by all disco lovers. on the main side *makin love* with the lovely long intro with congas and spacey fx that warms you up for the explosion of the hot sexy vocal line. on the b side a fantastic re-work of a rare disco/folk track modernized with loops, fx and lasers that give you the right kick on the dance floor.

marvin & guy was born in 2011 from the children of two different musical generations with a shared knowledge of how to make people dance. influenced by legendary djs such as ron hardy, larry levan or tee scott, their sound is firmly rooted in disco but keeps evolving with each release. in their debut ep for hivern, they keep expanding their palette with three tracks that push the boundaries between the disco culture and a techno spirit

marvin dan iii & leethe black belt guy are marvin & guy. having released underground gems on lets get lost, on the prowl and their own m&g edits imprint, the pair brings their patented breed of loopy bliss to the young adults label to kick start 2015. the dance abilities ep finds the duo further honing their original production chops and explores subtle nuance to epic proportions. dance ability is a 10-minute ascending journey through space and time that phase shifts and drifts with zero gravity guitars for the full a-side. on the flip, dancity soundtracks a snake charmers sideshow with hypnotic croons draped over swirling layers of pads and a mesmerising horn. dancenergy rounds out the wax with a punchy piledriver that sets its sights on the floor with rugged chug and tingling synths

after several go-to 12s on the always reliable lets get lost series, the mysterious marvin & guy drop their first on the prowl release! first up is estacy with driving percussion and a string driven groove that keeps building with subtle drops and hits. marcos cabral takes it into deeper territory with his heavy remix, definitely pushing the bottom end for the big room where it should be heard. on the flip we have moon import, a moody rhodes driven vocal track with panning synths to get you in a daze. then some upbeat disco house with shot me - a perfect track for your next loft party.
