wes anderson der clubmusik wurde er genannt. auch deutscher james murphy. die faz hat ihn sogar als den underground-moroder betitelt, vermutlich weil seine musik immer schon etwas anders war als alles andere, das man sonst aus der pop und clubwelt h�rte. denn das ist fakt: mathias modica und die jungs auf seinem label gomma haben den aktuellen status quo der musik immer schon ein bisschen weitergedacht. ein neues kapitel in der an hoehepunkten nicht armen geschichte von munk und der mittlerweile 15-jaehrigen historie von gomma wird das neue album chanson 3000 markieren. gesanglich unterst�tzt wurde modica auf dem neuen album von den beiden s�ngerinnen lizzie paige und mona lazette.

eines gleich vorneweg: es bewegt gewaltig, das erste soloalbum von jonas imbery alias telonius. und das mit absicht! denn es sollte ein album voller tracks werden, die freimuetig angreifen und denen ein gewisser twist innewohnt, der unvergaenglich bleibt. eine handschrift die der muenchner in den letzten 15 jahren mit verschiedenen musikalischen projekten reifen lies. als telonius produziert er house, der keinerlei branding braucht und mehr will als eine szene-schickeria bewegen.

wie es scheint sind alle begeistert von santa cruz track mais uma chance, einem der herausragenden songs auf der letzten too slow to disco brasil edition. der berliner jack tennis hat für uns seine magischen hände an den track gelegt und eine dj-freundliche yacht-disco version abgeliefert, die santa cruz selbst so begeistert hat, dass er uns persönlich darum bat diesen remix zu veröffentlichen. jack tennis ist ein berliner produzent, der kopf vielerlei projekte ist. er veröffentlicht seine eigene musik unter dem namen hotlane (gomma records) und liefert stetig disco-edits für das einflussreiche uk disco label midnight riot (von yam who!). um die veröffentlichung abzurunden, konnten wir die italienische rework/edit legende les inferno überzeugen uns seinen unveröffentlichten track brazilewis einen chill-out slo mo groover zur verfügung zu stellen. die nummer findet sich schon seit einiger zeit in jedem dj supermarkt set! les inferno veröffentlicht auf samosa records, eines der hippsten neuen edit/rework labels, das eigentlich strictly vinyl ist. seine tracks wurden z.b. schon von niemand geringerem als moodyman in seinen sets eingesetzt. eine streng limitierte 10inch mit den beiden tracks wird es erst ende august geben.

stimming x lambert on kryptox. stimming x lambert have done an album together: exodus! this duo debut will be released on the new berlin based kryptox label on 9th march 2018. kryptox is the new label for neo -jazz/kraut/classical music my by gomma and toy tonics founder mathias munk modica. stimming is one of the main names in german advanced techno. he first appeared to the public with cooperations with david august and solomun on diynamic records. later he did orchestral techno works and is by now one of the leading names in his genre. lambert is one of the rising starts of german neo-classical music. the pianoman with the mask. after 3 albums (some recorded with little help by niels frahm) he is selling out venues all over europe. together stimming x lambert created a new approach on postmodern, romantic, krauty electronica mixed with classical piano elements

new label made by mathias munk modica. the producer behind indiedance labels gomma and toy tonics. (modica produced records with people like james murphy, whomadewho, peaches, daniel avery, the rammellzee - jrbb is a german 15 person big band that combines jazz with electronica. additional beat production by coeo (toy tonics). on this ep is a rework from jrbb friends brandt brauer frick included.

after kicking off with a strong various artists release, mexican label calypso records returns to showcase the talents of argentine producer thomass jackson, who has previously been spotted on gomma amongst other labels. head rejection takes on a ghoulish 1970s vibe that sports a little schlocky horror and a little spaghetti western in its discoid grooves, while witzelsutch feels equally vintage but with a more cosmic lilt to its oddball tones. creepy pc gets more of that noirish goodness lurking around the mix, and then boot & tax come on board to remix head rejection with a heads down tribal patter that keeps the atmosphere of the original intact.

rhode & brown are back on their motherlabel toy tonics! after last years breakbeat - tune st hippolyte and getting remixed by their buddies hodini and glenn astro, their new ep takes their sound further again. from diy-disco to dreamy house, whatever you like to call it.. the tracks have this joyful touch, that makes their sound so special. this time their production way was a little bit different: while spending holidays on the marvellous island of zanzibar they produced the raw versions of this ep. they set up their studio at a beach cabanne. with a monkey becoming their muse. they monkey came over every day to listen to their sounds. they became friends and called the monkey rosie and fed her with mangos. when back in europe the munich boys still were in a balearic mood. so they went to a house deep in the south of france to finish the music. the result were 4 tracks. three for this ep. and one track that they gave to the other munich based label public possession for their recent serie a compilation. which makes totally sense: public possession and toy tonics both have links to gomma records. its all a family thing. where great munich vibes incoming!

hugo capablanca may be best known for his more disco-minded output from his time on gomma records, but increasingly his scattered output and his label have been reaching towards more abrasive material. nothing will prepare you for the confrontational nature of this daring, no label transmission. the artwork alone is enough to challenge the senses, while the opening track is a metallic drone that gives way to the distended mutant beats of top less. guy debord is no less cut throat in delivering a disco punish remix of lap dance on the b side, all deconstructed groove and guttural noise, and then dance less rounds the record off with another excursion into unsettling, heavily processed noise.

mugwumps subfield label introduces its first signings with the belgian-italo duo front de cadeaux (brilliantly named after the belgian ebm pioneer group front 242). front de cadeaux are dj athome & dj hugosan. hugo runs the roccodisco label with italian disco mastermind rodion (gomma/nein) while belgian killer dj athome has been spinning italo wave & house in brussels since the 90 s. they expertly produced their own brand of supreme rallentato, which is a fucked-up slo-mo italo, acid, disco, techno and house hybrid that so rightly fits with subfield s mission statement of covering subgenres. their 2 first outings on roccodisco have been remixed by fabrizio mammarella and optimos jd twitch, and a staple in ivan smagghes sets. this full ep on subfield features 2 original f2c obscene & dirty slo-mo tracks at their most playful, ouvre ta bouche and front de cadeaux theme plus the magnificent dub-house of killers. remixes comes courtesy of factory floor s gabe gurnsey (dfa) in a quite brutal bleep-techno mood and manchester s nu-balearic kingpin ruf dug (music for dreams), getting into what he described as a 808 snare roll warehouse analog fucked-up version.

golpe de estado is the new project from berlin situationist/dilettante capablanca and swedish producer tobias palsson. having previously worked together on a couple of obscure releases for german label gomma, the pair make their items & things debut with > secreto< , a four-track ep featuring two originals and two remixes, recorded live and dubbed to analog tape.

richard burkinshaw and james rial aka audiojack have been at the forefront of underground electronic music for nearly a decade now with the duo dropping their first full length ep on 2020vision in 2006, entitled white noise. here the duo return to the label with a fresh single, following recent output which saw them collaborate with lcd soundsystem�s nancy whang for a single on gomma, and a string of material and remixes on their hugely successful gruuv imprint.

hommage this is already the third release for our little baby s p i e l and as we are on a constant search for the more leftfield and not so deep house esque dance music it was a very happy surprise to find an amazing demo in our mail box by the swiss indie dance/ electronic duo mercury. the bern based act already made a name for themselves by releasing on the great gomma label and by doing remix work and collaborations with people like robert owens, byron stingily, tom trago,munk and two door cinema club. these three new tracks are a well crafted mix of electro, disco, house and deep techno.

a side with original title ep track meets dark groove, soft synths and catchy athmosphere together. also uk based artists, matt fear & kreature - the guys who have placed themselves on the worldwide house scene with resonance records, mexa records, nurvous records releases - are uniting the powers and deliver their version of the track, this is closing the a side. b side opens with low bass influenced remix of track by german based artist, gomma records coworker telonius. the key of this remix can be described as raw, linear and experimental. kevin over (noir music, defected) completes the b side and release in general. the dubby experience of melancholic notes with punchy sub bassline is a perfect banger for dj sets.

torrebros (numoment recordings / komplex de deep) is a french duo delivering in melted faces a subtle collage of samples and original floating textures. melted faces original mix reminds, by its driving beats and low-slung bass, the early nineties detroit moisture. borrowed identity (mistress recordings / quintessentials), a german-romanian producer, which last productions has been released on dvs1s new imprint mistress, gives here his layback and savoureuse interpretation by rearranging the original sample groove. dj steef (retrofit / gomma / numoment recordings), the mysterious french producer, finalized the ep with 2 more deep and downtempo remixes with a catchy and seductive rolling bass perfectly seated on a powerfull drum loop pattern.
