projections is a wonderful piece of work where the structures and melodies of the tracks combine perfectly with haunting atmospheres , weaving analog lines & attention to detail that makes for a very unique soundtrack.

some things just get better with age. house grooves vol. 1 mark a part in history, where a young move d felt ignited by the classic house music sounds of the day. strict rhythms and nu grooves forged masterful networks with bleeps and clonks, pianos helped synthesizing dopamine and the phuture was wide open. house grooves vol.1 embodies that special time and place with a bunch of vintage tracks saved from the abyss. respectfully edited and dusted with gloves, it features move ds sought-after magic moment i gave my love, a collaboration with mannheims house hero see-base, the bass line swing of babyphonk and a breakbeat-led remix by shan & gerd janson that tries to sound like it could have happened back them. the bottom line is: the past can make the future feel at home.

flumos mainstay ekkohaus returns, this time bringing a full-bodied package for the dance floor. suitably, far fetcher acts as a warm welcome, inviting the listener inside its richly deep analogue soundscapes, reminiscent of deeper sides of classic house rhythms that have come from the usa. its pace provides a perfect way to start off the ep while the synth-vocal creates a soulful depth. things get darker and more aggressive with musketeers, a dub-heavy rhythm that drives one to involuntary movement due to its relentless repetition and & subtle swing. the amalgamation of the synth along with the pulsating sub invigorates one to move and bounce along with these elements. fantasy provides the penultimate party vibe. it s funkiness transcends & the melodies drive the vocals to the extent of ecstasy. rounding off the ep 64 bars features vocals by arthur russel, the synth inflicted break progressions capture the vibe of ekkohaus live sets with its haunting chants hinting towards techno and while its warmth never escapes.

tony scott has been producing electronic music since the early nineties under various pseudonyms, but with edit select he has found his forte, and when it comes to deep, thought-provoking yet floor ready techno, there are not many artists that can do it like edit select. at home on some headphones with your eyes closed as it is on dance floor moving bodies 11.12.16 on android muziq is a must have for fans of techno on the dance floor and beyond.

aus music bring a summer of firsts to a close as they follow up records from the newly collared recloose, trevino and paul woolford with another new addition to the team: tom trago. the rush hour regular joins the ranks with being broke - a bright and groovy four-track aimed straight at the dance floor of this seasons closing festivals. the a side offers up an original and dub version of the title track - a bumping house groove built with playful vocal samples and nifty synth lines. on the flip are two version of good lies - the first rolling out over its elongated duration with sharp, galloping hats and free-flowing rhodes notes. tension begins to develop as the track steadily snowballs gathering vocal snips and a menacing bass line while the good christian edit offers up a lighter, more early-doors affair bringing a nicely rounded package to a close.

played by ricardo villalobos -- bass culture welcomes another industry heavyweight to its roster of talent with this new release, which follows hot on the heels of the killer 50th release by mr. g. this latest release comes from long time friend of bass culture owner d julz and dutch techno hero steve rachmad. steve is renowned for his funky take on techno, honing his skills as a dj and producer over 25 years and establishing himself as a respected and hugely talented artist in the process. the first of two tracks on this new ep is entitled * sabre song* - a stomping, illuminating cut straight out of the rachmad school of detroit-influenced techno. d julz heard steve play the track at womb in tokyo and had to sign it on the spot. *sabre song* is a perfect fit for bass culture with its groovy bassline, cutting hats and * big band* instrumentation. on the flip d julz himself contributes an edit of one of steves nineties classic, a favourite of his and one which both men agreed should be given a release. pumping out at a speedy tempo, the force is strong with * activa*, transporting us back to the rave era with its catchy melody, and retro physique. summer vibes all the way with this one.
