another bosconi anthem for the winter... sex baby please!
we are so happy to finally release this song by chronic flakes aka alex picone & kay sand already on mixworks and cadenza.. this track really represents our philosophy of dance music: extremely forward thinking boogie tech house with strong and powerful 909 drum machine sounds, sensual, jokey and funny vocals, an essential dry feeling filled up of chicagoish memories, so complete and rich of elements that makes it more than a common track, it is really for the girls, no music for techno machos, for us, just innovative and properly coooool stuff... and, being not selfish, we dropped also two other gems by our chronic mates... >easy cure< is a stunning, ethereal and bouncey oldschool/newyorkish deephouse track with a solid groove in the vein of kenny dope and early strictly rhythm, while >output< is a trippy technoid bomb for the likes of hardwax fans and dimbimans >vibration of v< addicts... what more were you looking for? have a listen baby ...
STROMBOOTY

support: steve bug, jay haze, someone else, mark henning, matt star, pan pot, agaric, jason emsley!!! 2009 has been an extremely busy year for billy dalessandro. on top of having recently relocated from his hometown of chicago to montreal, the year has marked his most engaging yet in terms of gigging and musical output. along with a successful three-month european tour, billy released a string of highly acclaimed singles, and his latest artist album (not to mention his growing catalog under the huge hephner and tyrone aliases). however, it should come as no surprise that the producer has saved the best for last.
>strombooty< (for details, consult your local urban dictionary) is the modern dalessandro sound, combining heady experimentation with dance floor prowess. the eps title track is a deep, yet explosive number that creeps in subtly like dark clouds on the horizon, before raining down a devastating thunderstorm over the speakers.
the latin-flavored >el tapatio< and super-deep cut >speak to me< make up the b-side. although the tracks represent different aspects of the dalessandro sound, the commonality they share is a thoughtful approach to dance music that much of the formulaic output these days lacks.

right on the heels of aux-records enthusiastically received 1st release featuring very contemporary revisits of the 1950s classic >fever< by franco cinelli and club rayo, this 2nd chapter of the aux-rec project travels to different eras, into different styles. and this is precisely what we had set to do: zig-zag through dance music history in search of personal favorites and classics to be revisited or refreshed. for the present release, we travel to two distinct dates: 1989 for the a-side, and 1979 for the b-side. two tracks that are 10 years apart, but that both share a fiercely upbeat and affirmative musical profile, as well as a certain ageless, core, compositional quality.

right on the heels of our previous bass/electro smasher, we hit you with the most anticipated house/disco record of recent times. helsinki 78-82 is a project by top billin team members flipper & koobra, whove always been active and always been down to bring something new to the label. while flipper is part of the top billin dj team and has always been the most high-flying of us, so no wonder the the new 12inch is some musical bliss thatll leave you feeling that good good. this is what we call big city house music, when youre cruising the streets at night with the top down - no words needed. in a manner michael mann would be proud of. so lifelike is a sort of remake of lifelikes great so electric (under permission), although this time it comes with vocals from our great helsinki new wave partners villa nah. if you are in need of a new end-nighter, this is it. cruising is a tune full of that pumping big city feel with driving drums and great synth work that will get them ladies on the floor and will fit into those funky house / modern disco sets. we even have a video for it, but its a different kind of cruising than you think (no al pacino)…

SHADOW CITY EP, DHARAVI MIX
12 Inch
18.01.10
the yore captain returns to his own yore imprint on the labels 21st release. shadow city presents different visions of funky house grooves. the a sides the y theme gets deeply moving with a funky house pulse before stoking the fire with the addition of speaking voices (trippingly intoning the q&a what are we doing this for? and the music), a move which single-handedly jumpstarts the track. after the voices appear, the grooves intensity escalates and plunges deeper, its gyroscopic house swing becoming more dizzying and torrential with each passing bar before coming to an acidy storming end. in its opening moments, shadow city opts for a deeper and more serenading vibe by comparison, but thats traded in for a slinkier attack at the three-minute mark that grows progressively more ferocious as the track makes its drastic upwards ascent. a trippin dangerous murder weapon to say the least. watch your heads! the b sides b2 track, mumbai dweller keeps the focus primarily on the bottom end, specifically a strutting tribal-house funk groove thats dragged even deeper by a throbbing bass undertow, adding dark chords to it, giving this ep a darker feeling towards the end. to sum it all up: this is raw house music at its best!
coming from germany, rampa is surely one of the hottest up and coming producers around at the moment. he has a history of producing acts that found their way directly into the charts. his keinemusik label is on a roll at the moment and he is also behind some turntables between berlin and new york, representing his own definition of music

deep a & biri have been involved in the tel aviv house scene for some time. with this 3 track ep plus digital bonus track they give their debut now.
>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.
vakant continues its valt series with the third installment of uncompromising club tracks. started in 2008 with onur Özer and followed up by tolga fidan in 2009, dario zenker brings up valt3 in 2010. vakants representation in the decent south of germany locates belfort as close to detroit as its indefinite in time. was it written by little dario in the 90s? or maybe on a us tour in detroit itself with some helping hands? we dont know, but surely have a timeless piece of music here
supported by tolga fidan, someone else, the mountain people, 2000 and one, renato cohen, karotte, butane, bloody mary.... following the hot release from chris lattner…einmaleins musik introduces a very special release from new added artist aldo cadiz (chile) which spreads again our very unique trademark style of music. each track shows aldos ability to create an efficient and deep sound from a few sounds without a lack of feeling.

tonbaumeister’s love for electronic music roots deep in the late eighties when he got his first computer, a commodore c-64, and when he instantly fell for the distinctive sounds of its sid chip. always driven by this passion he since then devoted himself to producing electronic music on various computing platforms and with multiple different programs to discover and soon constantly reinvent his own style. growing up in hessen, in the very heart of germany, he was deeply influenced by the endlessly evolving styles of house music and techno, which shaped the face of the vibrant club culture in cities like frankfurt and kassel. although tonbaumeister’s style might prematurely be declared as house music, the diversity of his productions makes it almost impossible to put them in a box and label them. his energetic tracks range from straight house to tech house to almost dark technoid characteristics, but suddenly one finds oneself surpr ised by the aforementioned sounds of late eighties computer games embedded in a psychedelic landscape with rough sawtoothy baselines. as hard as it is to pin down his production style, it is even harder to label his dj sets, which, as well as his productions, constantly evolve and morph while mirroring all of tonbaumeister’s influences. since 1999 he developed a passion for djing and he has had the chance to transport his enthusiasm into a number of clubs, infecting many clubbers with his verve. at the moment he is about to launch his own label subclinical

the every day fight deep in the inner side of danjel esperanza is such a big antagonism. but its not only in himself, its his life, destiny and his music which he really lives out on his musically diary. and now with his first album ever!
no better place can it be than his label backdoor beauty to describe all the opposed feelings. the album contains nine very deep and soulful songs. deep bubbling pumpin basslines combined with spiritual singing vocals, instruments like violins, flutes, guitars and many more! all recorded together with sounds from outside which gives the unique athmospheric dubby touch and far horizons and it feels at the end like a very hypnotic trip.
inspired and influenced from so many music styles he found his own way in electronical acoustic sounding music to describe the antagonism in danjel esperanzas life and the world...which is like one happy eye and one sad eye....

daniel steinberg and front room are like annoyingly sexy couples that you end up in the next hotel room to on a company business trip. except of course daniel steinberg and front room dont actually have sex they just literally make sweet music together. the spiciness continues with the preacherman ep, daniel steinbergs fifth release on front room recordings. punctuated with the exotic and the kind of twists, bumps and energy that only steinberg can provide, preacherman kicks off a cacophony of funk fuelled head nodding to get any party pulsating. “you need love” with its in-your-face vocal, huge beat and sleazy decelerating breakdown has future classic written all over it. the long awaited tiefschwarz remix of “lucky sauce” also sees the light of day here in full effect and breathes a new layer of ‘wow’over a release that is only really just beginning to simmer down from its release in june. wonked out groover who stopped the music rounds proceedings off nicely on an ep that is audio proof that the stroke of his talent only gets more precise and dazzling with every release. daniel steinbergs releases are supported by the likes of ricardo villalobos, luciano, claude vonstroke and richie hawtin to name drop a few. watch this space for daniel steinbergs artist album coming out on front room in 2010

circus company welcomes a new artist on the label: the homewreckers. named after a track by southern soul legend sam dees, the production collective from germany has been moving and breaking new ground between detroit techno, abstract funk and melancholic disco music since 1995. their debut album amercian ruhr has been released on unique records in 2008 and creates an absolutely distinctive sound which seems to come straight out of a from a feverish dream populated by the ghostlike figures of larry graham, juan atkins, frank hutter, bernard edwards, erik b or al green. the not my business ep perfectly shows how the homewreckers flow on these two original tracks. you feel the funk, you feel detroit and you feel a deep and unique sense of music. cherry on the cake, you got a remix from san francisco based artist dave aju who is back on the label after his much acclaimed album open wide released in 2008. not my business isnt their first shoot on the label as they were already part of last months snuggle & slap circus company compilation with a brilliant live-version of chicago urban blues.

alejandro the argentinian fellow, also known for his monikas >funzion< and >e bridge<, released on lomidhigh, alphahouse and sushitech among others, presents us two energetic musical journeys for the meander imprint. this is warm and funky music, simply pure and rich in its dynamic, drive and groove. stunning and very ajejandros own style. the track selva introduces itsself with a temper didgeridoo eclecticism. followed by lush heavy sub basses with a dash of acid and wandering crispy sounds, his tricky rhythm programmings are blowing us away into dramatic dancefloorbliss. spiced up toms between high frequent synthesizers underline its constant presence. a melodic, organic and crafty piece of house music. on the flipside we have >pampa<. the obviously traditional south american influences of our talent merge with modernism, fluxion and frequency precision. an emotional trip that let somehow emerge images of dreamy landscapes while being still a dance orientated killer tune. with this record alejandro emphasizes his creativity as a standout producer for dense and powerfull creations
supported by adam beyer, john digweed, dominik eulberg, ewan pearson, perc, danny tenaglia, dave tarrida. roland m. dill is a passionate dj, trained musician as well as bit of a scientist. this release tells a story of psycho acoustics. so expect >low go< to be something special for your ears and for your soul. roland likes chicagomusic and this track has the chicagoesque feeling in it from the beginning. those who remember green velvet will get a hang also on this powerhouse-techno production! this track will be easily fitted in to every berghain dj set and rock the shit out of everyone on the dance floor. dont expect dubbed out lushness, this is serious dance or die action .
the remixes come from prominent producers around europe, so starting chronological from a2 to b2: sian has appeared on a lot on raves and parties with his surf board. he is an international traveller who loves to be reminded of the times when surfing farmers left their houses with door frames and no doors. his remix works in a way a countdown functions. building up tension at an incredible speed, this track is set out to explode... but sian would not be sian if he had not developed a club friendly torture . sian rides the wave of superfatt basslines and adds a sequence that sounds as if someone had replaced his teeth with thin pieces of metal, creating a humming voice comparable to one of a jaws harp. sian keeps the tension going with very few elements and shows he is a true masterof techno.
secret cinema has been accompanying us since his first releases mid of the 90ies and we truly believe quality prevails, not to mention his mayor chart hit just 3 months ago with “shake ur tech-ass”. well secret cinema is unbelievably massive in his production. we dont see how anyone can fatten up the sound more than he can. but it is not only about tuning and pimping and pimping and tuning... his remix is a masters piece of perfectionbecause it creates something rare... deep emotional hydraulic strength. this is like diving head on into a pool of silicone and getting sucked into it. this track has an hypnotic feel to it that is comparable to radiohead.
darko esser is an icon in the techno scene of the netherlands. his remix takes the track in to a direction you would not expect it could go to. starting rather minimal darkos remix soon takes a turn and brings in jack elements and cool nostalgic melodies that will warm the heart of every detroit techno lover. was it derrick may who played chords like this... these strings are looked up in the back of our heads like childhood memories of having your first popcycle exploding in your mouth. this is soulful music with just enough analogue imperfection and warmth to it.

this is the second release by antonelli for dreck after his boogie ep in 2007. in classic antonelli working method the material here is made without a cpu, just with hardware. this gives the tracks a warm feel and a sense of an older mode of production, but nevertheless the two tracks are fully rooted in the now! stefan schwander starts out with the idea of the bassline as a genre-defining element in music. he then works from this central idea towards an euphoric and a reductive version, resulting in the two tracks here at hand, >disconnected< on the a side, and >operatore< on the b side. they both feature a beautifully analogue disco (if not moroder) bassline, build up continuously without ever meandering or loosing direction - very straight and pushing the dancefloor forward with >operatore< being the more bouncy and carefree track of the two.

COASTAL BRAKE (LIM. 180G + POSTER)
12 Inch
08.01.10
as the third single released in anticipation of scott hansen’s long-awaited full-length as tycho, “coastal brake” may be the best yet—a sweet slice of dream-beat that glides over the ocean surface like a high-speed waverider. “coastal brake”’s vintage synthesizers set the pointillistic scene, blipping and popping around a near-balearic rhythm like melancholy drops in a river, rising and falling and building to a shimmering climax. it’s not quite dance music—more like tycho’s soft-focus take on the escapist beauty of house music. the single’s three remixes do the original ample justice. danish producer (and syntaks collaborator) manual takes “coastal brake” at half-time and shoots it full of feedback, bringing a scorched-earth weight to the proceedings, while hatchback’s “cosmic caviar dub version” turns down the contrast and places the song in a cave full of drugged-out pianos. lusine hacks up “coastal brake” and repurposes the bits for his own stutter-stepping, downbeat funk. listen closely, and you’ll hear shards of “coastal brake” sparkling in between the beats. limited edition (1000 copies) of tychos >coastal brake< on 180 gram vinyl including alternate artwork poster. tycho is the music project of san francisco artist and producer scott hansen. as tycho, hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. known in the design world as iso50, hansen is famed for his bucolic, sun-drenched design style, which serves as a backdrop and mirror for his musical output.
