john tejada was marooned in los angeles in the summer of 82. a strange place to grow up coming from vienna austria. even stranger considering the lack of techno there in the 90s. in a land of glowsticks and desert parties, tejada stuck to his love and development of his own unique electronic sound. fast forward to 2007 when detroit area native josh humphrey was also marooned in los angeles. it didnt take long for the two to meet and connect the cables on their modulars into a system twice as big. the result is marooned, palettes newest collaboration between john tejada and josh humphrey. the trio of songs reveal three sides to the duos work. the title track, marooned, joins humphreys modular synth work with tejadas beats and soothing pads, the result being a slice of beat-driven melodic techno created in a city where such sounds are rarely heard. melodiac continues from there with a lighter mood, with humphreys modular melodies and tejadas signature stabs and rhythms. rounding out the three is concrete safari, which largely focuses on humphreys modular fm synth work that slowly evolves into a cluster of tribal sounds, modular birds and grainy goodness. humphreys knowledge of synths and programming is quite extensive. he currently works with la based big city music, a dealer of modular and boutique synthesizers. it is also a place tejada frequents to test most of his gear

entertainment is a duo. im a cliché is proud to release their very first e.p on september 29th. juan de guillebon is the bass player. he studied a lot jaco pastorius, but decided not to spend the rest of his life playing in jazz rock combos. you can easily guess his attraction to no wave bands (suicide or james chance), krautrock (his faves are cluster), or ebm and early electro (daf). alongside, hes part of the ectoplasmic band, performing as backing band for tigersushis boss joakim. antoine montgaudon plays the guitar, and we bet he would have fit perfectly in any brian enos late 70s recording. he builds endless psychedelic atmospheres with feedbacks, loops and fxs. all this only with his guitar. hes also part of my sister klaus, a project released on tigersushi (again).

electronic avantgarde! mooner edits.. conrad schnitzler is considered to be the keyfigure of electronic avantgarde music in europe. schnitzler, joseph beuys first student was member of tangerine dream and kluster (who would later become, cluster. many years ahead of his time, con was revolutionary in many aspects, he predated industrial music, sounded like kraftwerk and daf before they did and makes music today at the age of 71. mooner is not only known for zombie nations, kernkraft 400 that became a top ten hit in many european countries. he is also dj, compiler for the compilations, elaste, slow motion disco, on compost, and, together with pollyester just established a new label called love in c minor.
