attention: the case has a broken corner. ltd 180 copies - incl dl code , this cassette collects some of these stills, or better said freeze frames. freeze frames that become almost landscapes that one can enter or not, listen closely to or use as mere background ambience. wilson went in and untied the knot, yet while investigating the situation, posing more questions. this is as open-ended a release can get, so captiously simple. i met andrew wilson, (aka berko, art wilson, andras), a few months ago in tokyo where we were both to perform on a sort of balearic ambient variety show in the heart of shibuya. at some point andrew was telling me about his interest in youtube videos of truck accidents, animals attacking people and bloopers. with creating one-shot samples of these sort of popular fringe finds he started creating long-form drones of harmonic beauty, without being overtly and subjectively emotional. wilson presented some of these pieces on said night in tokyo, in a dandyesque manner all dressed in white, sitting behind a small restaurant table

sue zukis inaugural recorded document the we are all very anxious tape is in our opinion one of the most innovative audio expeditions that has resonated with us. boldly defying and deconstructing conventional genre tropes we arent being bias by saying that either. this is a genuinely sincere perspective. the key to sue zukis music is her vocals where she misanthropically preaches the records themes of psychological alienation and despair, trapped within an augmented virtual reality. whilst trapped and unable to properly function inside this distorted simulation there are the bewildering sounds of a thousand voices and every conversation unhealthily looping inside yourre mind, through the echo chamber. manifesting into a bleak neurotic obsession and feelings of inadequacy, a desperate plea, blinded and fatigued by the unnerving glare of the computer screen, processing too much information and not knowing if the human interactions youre experiencing are genuine or artificial.

warehouse find ! mjazz presents rawtrachs is a 17-minute ride of beats, bass, noise and rawness. there is an obvious influence of jungle break beats and a f**k off attitude to formulaic music. the music represents freedom from the formula, freedom from restrictions, and most of all the freedom to connect with the universe via intuitive experiments with sounds. this release is limited to 30 cassettes – the cassettes are blue in a yellow case with a handcrafted cover – each of these covers are different (no two covers are the same). the cassette cases are then packaged up in an extra case which is hand sprayed with the mjazz seal of approval – super limited handcrafted packaging! this music is unapologetic and unadulterated – no watered down for the masses business!

us producer d’marc cantu needs little introduction in the world of acid house and techno. since the late 2000s he’s been serving us quality musical output on labels like crème organization, m>o>s recordings, nation, altered moods or spectral sound, just to name a few. as well as his solo productions, he’s also one half of 2am/fm unit, alongside tadd mullinix (jtc / dabrye).
using a selection of hardware tools and analogue machines, his rugged sound draws on house, techno, acid, electro and hip hop and features crafty studio skills, knowing sampling and lovable raw aesthetics, defining his own sound that became known as jakbeat.
his latest offering for little beat different is, well, rather different in comparison to his usual club oriented output. it’s not as focused on straightforward dancefloor bangers, (although they are present here too), but features more experimental pieces, suitable for home listening purposes. totalling almost 38 minutes in length, this project has more of an album feel to it than a 12”.
