(1 cd album in a jewel case) the album is newly recorded sound track of the >a trip to the moon< film by georges melies in 1902. the lobster films in france has released a dvd of the same film with jeff mills sound tracks in november 2016.the famous silent film is only for 16 minutes or so but mills has finished the entire tracks for this sound track album

free fall galaxy ist der neunte teil von jeff mills science-fiction-story sleeper wakes- und nachfolger von emerging crystal universe aus 2014. die serie begann 2004 und lŠuft unendlich. das neue album erscheint physisch auf cd und zwei einzelnen 12inch vinyl-schallplatten.

der detroiter jeff mills zŠhlt mit seiner einzigartigen fingerfertigkeit zu den besten djs der welt. wenn er auflegt, drŠngeln sich seine fans um das dj-pult statt auf der tanzflŠche. in exhibitionist 2 lŠsst sich mills beim mixen aus vier optionalen kameraperspektiven auf die finger schauen. man sieht hautnah, wie elegant dieser mann mischpult und decks wie instrumente behandelt, wie er spontan und in echtzeit mit zusŠtzlichen synthesizern improvisiert, neue rhythmen kreiert und fliegen lŠsst. die neue doppel-dvd zeigt drei verschiedene sets in detroit, darunter mit der drummachine skeeto valdez und der berŸhmten tr-909 im solo, sowie zwei sets in chicago (inkl. persšnlichen kommentaren von jeff mills und einer tanzperformance von pierre lockett). die beiliegende cd enthŠlt die tracks vornehmlich aus mix 2, von den insgesamt 21 tracks sind 16 bislang unveršffentlicht. parallel erscheinen bis ende des jahres auch drei vinyl eps.

jeff mills chooses (almost) one track from each year since the inception of axis records. with a booklet of jeff mills explaining the concepts of each track.

jeff mills once again indulges his passion for classic sci-fi with this 2cd re-imagining of the score to harry kleiner s titular 66 flick. it follows his -cyborg 2087- recreation and imaginary soundtracks for -the power- and -the occurence- with a deep voyage of discovery. but unlike the aforementioned, the original film plot - about a team of scientists who re miniaturized and dispatched inside a human body to fix a blood clot - thematic scales are inversed and we re drawn to mills inner, as opposed to outer, space-scapes. the action unfolds across 22 tracks and 2 cds, from bleepin, womb-like viscera and hazardous noise bursts through archetypal rhythm arrangements and fluid programming reflecting the man/machine, organic/synthesized themes of the film and his own alien/human aesthetic. it s wonderful to witness mills maturing as a composer and refining his art to something beyond a soundtrack for dancefloor rituals, but without ever losing his original blueprint, and showing that the line between cinematic imagination and dancefloor functions can be a very fine one.

2087 is inspired by the science fiction film -cyborg: 2087- (1966) by the writer arthur c. pierce, directed by franklin adreon. plot modification and soundtrack by jeff mills. it is the year 2087. the world had become a place where thoughts were not only monitored and restricted, but also, muted or reconstructed to favor the current rulers of earth and its inhabitants. the once exceptional human was merely reduced to a byproduct in the multi-dimensional industry of planetary hypostatisification. a boundless depository of cosmic energy controlled by an unknown force that had become too powerful to even reveal itself. a small and resourceful group of young scientists, engineers and devoted supporters create and send back through time a cyborg. a low technological invention consisting of human fibers and machine. out of desperation and precise planning, he is sent back to the year 1966 to prevent earths leading mathematician from thinking about the numeric breakthrough that would eventually lead to the mass thought control and human manipulation of the future. the cyborg (garth) soon discovers he is not alone in his mission, giving grave suspicion to possible traitors or spy within the young group of his creators. garth succeeds in finding and assassinating his target, but as the result, he alters the future and becomes the only remaining symbol of a time that never existed. a man out of time.

the house is invisible at this point and the music turns out the side on an axis. look around, everything seems a bit off .. the colours are distorted but something seems different, it’s as if everything has shifted slightly or moved a few inches to the left. there’s static, i blink and i can see the house again, but it’s not the same. the third release on 0 produced by c3d-e and hashman is disorienting liquid art - warped and provocative, spread again across two full sides.
