striking out in june 2011 with his debut ep >in your gut like a knife< - a neat summary of his electronic excursions at that point - the beautifully artworked 12 inch acted as a portal into a world of daydreams, tumbling into shadows and embracing luminescence simultaneously. breeding surreal headphone-friendly landscapes, he struck a peculiar and delicate balance between otherworldly and familiarity, at times sneaking a sly glance towards the dancefloor but mostly conjuring a sense of longing and rye melancholy. ticking with a distinctive bounce and rhythm, it comes as no surprise that gang colours was raised on the bump and grind of uk garage. taking a step back from chopped n screwed rnb vocals and the swing of ukg, >the keychain collection< explores more sombre recesses within gang colours palette. the scattered technicolor synth melodies that characterised his ep are present, but softer, cosier even, weaving betwixt and between forthright piano chords and wills own vocals. >the keychain collection< eloquently captures gang colours first steps on a long road.

long waited 4th ep from japanese deep house force pan records is here. unlike precious releases, this is volume 1 of its various artist sampler series. all 3 of them are scheduled to be released in 2012. first track to open the series is >flash back< by sai. this japanese producer has been favored and debuted from morris audio in 2010. the track has dreamy and floating feel to start off with, later it gets more grove going with subtle vocal goes behind. stays musical yet feels minimal, a2 also kept the vibe from a1 and makes you stay in the dreamland. it is by only the non-japanese artist on this wax, dennis uprock aka resoe from denmark. he is the owner of baum records and one half of the duo >pattern repeat< and this rather timeless track exactly demonstrated his years of experience in producing. >future progress<, is true and honest to its name. dj pi-ge is one of the owner of the label along side of ryo murakami and sisi. he provides a track with punchy synth and revered black man�s vocal. notably slow teasing build up from the beginning till the end, this is an interesting addition to the ep. attention grabbing. last of all, >rising moon< is by tokyo based artist naoki shinohara, previously released from xdbs metrolux music. this track can be described by strong hart beat like hi hats and soul filling melody. its a perfect closer to this quality deep house ep from the land of rising sun.

romare is a young london to paris transient crate digger, collecting dusty snippets of undead voices and antiquated rhythms. once in his underground lab, these pieces of yesterday are chopped, spliced and reattached to create the sound of tomorrow. this ep explores the connection between the history of african and african-american culture in the form of collage to create musical conversations between the past, present and future.
samples of songs, speeches, interviews, field recordings and films were carefully chosen and rearranged: rhythms from africa are integrated with voices from harlem, conversations about race and identity between writers and ethnomusicologists are constructed, speeches from activists are conjoined with the voices of prisoners. this process of combining pre-existing material has inspired three >meditations on afrocentrism<.
in keeping with black acres genre dodging output, romares merging of traditional rhythms of africa with the contemporary tempos of footwork and house is a bridge between the tradition sound palette of africa and future dance rhythm.

as dmob said in the early 1988 we call acid - the musical phenomenon that makes you want to dance, that puts you in a trance, that move you to the beat. in 2012 a turin mysterious artist know as a.m.b. the dirty dutch! anticlub a notorious collective from eindhoven, the southern capital of holland, was inspired to push itself into a new direction. the inspiration came from a painting by an old lady that drew the attention and gave the impulse to create the album freaks and followers. as the title suggests there are two kinds of people, people who take risks and people who do not. as anticlub used to be a risk-taker but slowly settled in an unwanted comfort zone, this created dissatisfaction and led to a creative standstill. seeing the painting everything became clear again. one should not stand still but keep moving and evolve oneself into new areas that one has not yet explored creatively. as lessismore is from the same dutch city, this state of mind also hit the lessismore label, which inevitable resulted in both parties joining forces to release this diverse album by a former underground techno crew called anticlub. as the lessismore label is known for its typically styled techno, lessismore was searching for a new impulse sound wise and visually, to ensure creative satisfaction in the years to come. with this album everything came together and the lessismore crew reunited to renew their input into the label, which was once founded to be a creative platform and an artistic journey and in retrospective clearly not a platform where one should repeat itself time after time. freaks and followers is an 8 track album with raw electronic based music combined with a variety of vocal work by different new anticlub members. the overall feel of the album is a dark punky attitude that reminds of the good old days of rave, which in the early nineties dominated the dutch club and party scene. this period can be defined as being careless and not taking credibility into account, trying new things, being blunt and just partying your hart out. being older this is a feeling that will never have to die, proved by the old lady whose painting was used as the art-work of the album release.
