if zox was a sculptor, his works would be angled and polished, simple and magically effective. no sound on this record (which is called >more fluff<, which astonishes me) hangs around too long between the acrylic clear beats, the square waves are bellied and cold as vodka from an iceberg, the higher frequencies refreshingly cool as hills in the highlands, and straight lines are the dominating theme by far. this is dance music in itself. the basses live in rich bounteousness which is strictly controlled, though. why boom it when you can bang it? perfect shapes, functional beauty and a refreshing taste will rock you.

10 Inch
03.07.07
the long a-side is reserved for bülent gürler and his project bee-low. >the hidden noise< is a neo-detroit-screw of the plus 8-hawtin school in a very popular plank of the minimal-rave. a track like evolution. antonelli digs, as >random aficionado<, a handful of melodies deep under a rave that is hardly recognizable as such one. he removed the snare completely in favor of a more effective feeling of the song. that s the way deep-house should sound and the way you always imagined it. no frowst, no references, just clear warm water. martin hirsch, alias deer, lived in devon (uk) for a long time and was an immediate neighbor of lee norris, also known as norken or metamatics. recently, the two of them have revived the connaisseur label neo ouija and that will surely do good for the cultural environment. and they have decided to start a long-ranging cooperation in terms of producing records. an outcome is >beyond the breeze<, a piece of house music whose title couldn t be more precise... sasse, giles smith, jeff milligan, laurent garnier

monomachine behind the name monomachine lie two well known musicians of the spanish and chilean electronic scene respectively: iñigo oruezábal and francisco allendes. this adventure in minimal code, sometimes more techno and others more house oriented, gathers all the background and joint professional experience of both artists, as a result of years of individual experience in the best dj booths and studios in spain and south america. its a sound that relates directly with the vanguard sounds in the current electronic dance music has its main target in the dance floor, not leaving aside a high quality production which results in an intense and clear sound. here are their latest tracks, released on catwash records.bomb jack on the a side is a tweaky, techy, track with jungle drum and percussion, and a soothing constant bass line that makes this track a great connector in any set. ghost and goblins on the b side starts out with some rhythmic minimal bongo drum sounds before a deep echoey bassline enters and kicks the track into its real journey. the contrasting synth sounds add flavour that turns this into a good boppy track that will get the peeps grooving on the dancefloor!

forteba was born and raised in hungary where he chooses the occupation of an electronic music producer at the age of eighteen. his early compositions were settled near breakbeat and chill-out area but he soon found his passion in straight rhythms and arrangements inspired by german deep-house stuff. he likes to embed various elements of dub and ambient into straight clear rhythms, so his borders of style are hard to define. he produced some successful singles in his home country as >the garage< together with gábor pasztoriális and got released at hungary-based underground labels
l delay is all about the dramabut at the same time, its skipping hi-hats and ringing bells suggest a carefree spirit and a supreme lightness of touch. talk about a duality: a cloak of reverb sucks the track perennially towards the dark side, but from the gleeful syncopations to the cheekily sampled live instruments, everything else opens up to the light like a morning yoga position. there s no funny business here, just tight rhythms and emphatic phrases that command bodies to move. its a monster of a track, but it must be of the loch ness variety, because youll never see it coming. on the flip, >frost< haunted by the same high, lonesome string note as >l delay< might be even more energetic, if that s possible. the high end has been smoothed down, and some of the roughhewn chicago edge of its companion tune sanded smooth, but its crazily syncopated standup bass line and distant, answering keyboards is all muscle, tensed and ready to explode. spacious drum tracks clear the floor for flashes of tambourine and handclaps so dry you can taste the salt on em. again, no nonsense is the name of the game: just raw, unadulterated funk with an ear for playful rhythms and limber moves

i dont have much to say about the dahlbacks. jesper is one of my best friends, even though he is a serious pain in the ass. john made 6 records in the time it took you to read this sentence....and he just turned 11. every once in a while they take about 40minutes out of their hectic schedule (john stops making records...to make a record, while jesper take s a break from the grueling demands of being a condo association manager) to make a record for turbo. in all honesty i think they give me the tracks they forgot about..... cuz you know if they really loved them they would keep them for their own lame labels. so, instead i leave you with the music. 3 tracks that prove again that somehow, against all odds, when you put cousins in a studio they bring out the best in each other. jespers maverick genius and time-honed wisdom tempers johns youthful passion and naive exuberance.. while johns youngbrain redefines the game and reenergizes the old master. the two cousins locked in a dance that continually blurs the lines between student and teacher, a sonic sibling rivalry a musical match with one clear winner ....you!!

marc marzenit is without a doubt one of the covered ones of the electronic scene of dance for this 2007. spheere is track 100% marzenit, great melodies and arpeggios, explosive hit, crescendo continuous and hipnótic to the maximum. today is yesterday - claustrophobia-rmx is governed more by similar patterns but less serious than spheere, and with a definitive attack to the jugular one in its culminating point. today is yesterday - original rmx- adopts melancholic forms with a minimalistic suit in the less contemptuous tone of the word. this does not sound like a regular record? then in the cover and the label it puts it well clear r-e-g-u-l-a-r

when iridite started out they really wanted it to represent a wide selection of electronic music - at the time, many of the bigger labels (and many independent ones too) seemed content to pigeon hole everything, generating sub label after sub label, each with its own micro-scene or genre. over the years we feel we ve done a pretty good job of steering clear of the obvious but we were still lacking a little in one important area - house music. although >ga< isnt straight down the line standard house music, it s instrumentation, simple repeating bassline and beats give forward motion that fits nicely with a more old school version of house along with some percussive vocal stabs and eventually, a huge synth string climax- like a cross between early ron trent, fingers inc and kenny larkin. the b side gives us two tracks from one of the most talented young producers working in the field today - jamie greer, who s tha poke guise gave us one of the highlights of ir004 (uncommon sense), moves >fall fwd< in strong style with his unique take on the (original) detroit sound - remaining completely individual, his sound is instantly familiar and yet never derivative or tired. both tracks have the energy to survive on the dance floor but the subtlety and depth to bear repeated listening at home - proper techno
