When Iridite started out they really wanted it to represent a wide selection of electronic music - at the time, many of the bigger labels (and many independent ones too) seemed content to pigeon hole everything, generating sub label after sub label, each with its own micro-scene or genre. Over the years we feel we ve done a pretty good job of steering clear of the obvious but we were still lacking a little in one important area - House Music. Although >GA< isnt straight down the line standard House music, it s instrumentation, simple repeating Bassline and beats give forward motion that fits nicely with a more old school version of House along with some percussive vocal stabs and eventually, a huge Synth String climax- like a cross between early Ron Trent, Fingers Inc and Kenny Larkin. The B Side gives us two tracks from one of the most talented young producers working in the field today - Jamie Greer, who s Tha Poke guise gave us one of the highlights of IR004 (Uncommon Sense), moves >Fall FWD< in strong style with his unique take on the (original) Detroit sound - remaining completely individual, his sound is instantly familiar and yet never derivative or tired.
