jonny nash (guissian curve / melody is truth) and firecracker s lindsay todd get barefoot and turn out a stunner of an lp. over the course of twelve compositions we find the pair utilising their recordings in a whole host of ways, avoiding the well-trodden cliches of the exotic and instead attempting to achieve a personal interpretation of the flora, fauna and climate of the island. spending time amidst the insects, rice fields and scorching sun, the pair gathered a library of found sounds which were then taken back to a studio space to be stretched, mangled and manipulated alongside a variety of electronic and acoustic instruments. the outdoor studio itself became a living instrument, with the duo setting up multiple microphones for durations of up to 12 hours around the space, layering and processing the results in tracks such as fauna mapping and a series of small frogs

new york’s p.leone debuts on rekids special projects with four vinyl-only techno cuts this february. debuting on spencer parker’s work them records in 2016, p.leone has since launched his own imprint entitled e-missions alongside label partner caiazzo. moving to berlin last year, the american producer has quickly earned himself a name within the german capital, making regular appearances at the likes of tresor and ://about blank, and now joining respected berlin-based label rekids as part of their vinyl-only series. metallic echoes, robust kicks and breakbeat percussion lay the foundation for ‘rose petal breaks’, before ‘noon service’ demonstrates crystalline synths and futuristic effects. on the flip, thudding drums and energetic claps form ‘hold me down’ until the ominous ‘sometimes i feel strong’ concludes the package with rattling components and a cacophony of intricacies.

initially released on sonia e. pottinger s highly respected high note records in 1981, sonya spence s sings love lp was relatively overlooked at the time her album came out. sent on her final journey in 2007, the one-woman band leaves us with a legacy of exception. however, time and a small first pressing has made it an object of desire for collectors, deejays and lovers all around the world. and, though it was shamelessly bootlegged throughout history, it is the first that time that this bliss of an lp gets the official reissue treatment on wax, with the love and respect it deserves. beyond classic tracks let the flow on baby, where is the love and the reggae gem fantasy, this 10-tracker abounds with treasures, some of which cannot be found on the internet.

halvtrak has gathered a following. the previous releases by the finn on dont be afraid and bakk teased an appetite among techno heads for his detroit infused and texturised sound and unexpected grooves. moving towards warmer tones, his latest output on a new london/helsinki label cold blow enters him further into detroits past. as an unexpected treat, the title track has been re-imagined by the very special chinaski with his trademark ghoul sound so reminiscent of old horror films now blended with sharp electro and ebm vibe. chinaski has been busy of late with a berghain live set as well as his fine rivers end ep on uncanny valley and ghost rider on live at robert johnson. from relentless groove to darker places, this is halvtraks most refined release yet as he becomes an illuminator of his own ascent.

the first and only licensed reissue of this rare 1979 two disc set rescued from obscurity by chris veltri (groove merchant records, sf) back in 2004. few have heard it till now. t.j. recorded these four tracks in the south bay, solo-style after stints in bay area bands the mysterious minds and dawn & the sunsets. this release contains two 12 inch discs with four side-long tracks housed in a beautiful 70s style matte tip-on gatefold jacket. disc one plays at 33 1/3 rpm and disc two at 45 rpm. a download card is included.

from the knowledge gained on our expeditions, we are able to track down the jets fired during each unique eruption and share them with the people of this majestic orb.
the first squirt led us to the yard in hackney, where ross from friends performed live for one of the first few times in his already sparkling career.
>from the performance came a track called ‘champagne’, a wave of sax washing over you accompanied by plinking guitar and of course those fuzzy hi hats that go right to your head.
this track could previously only be experienced by seeing the trio play live or by watching our documentation of the performance, until now.

its the big 5! berlin frankfurt based label house is ok is celebrating its five-year long presence and has decided to mark that period with something special labels story started with a sticker homeboy printed in his former hometown, zagreb, saying house is ok. catchy, right? it became an underground slogan of the local scene. it didnt take long for people to embrace the idea stating that its ok to be into melodic, fresh, groovy yet, at times, a bit awkward dance music. just around the same time homeboys frankfurt based bros oliver achatz and janis played with the idea of starting a record label. guess what the logical choice for the name was? ten records, dozens of original songs and remixes later house is ok continues to grow. literally. what was once a platform for the original three founders is now an international family affair supporting the talented artists from frankfurt, stockholm, alexandria and orlando. nurturing the friendly approach this musical family continues to grow. looking back at the first five years, not only at the music that connected them all but at the bonds that deepened through the production process, house is ok crew wanted to take create a proper reminder and thank the ones supporting them throughout the years. a double 12 pack titled gemišt seemed like a proper way to do that. „gemišt will be released as two separate eps featuring the original music from kornél kovacs, roman flügel, gavri & mcqueen, tcb, house of life and the label makers themselves. oliver and janis deliver tracks under their known names, while homeboy introduces his new project with fellow wilde renate resident the swift, called longhair. croatian artist ugruv smek marks his yearlong collaboration with the label delivering yet another smashing artwork.

the brother s leeb are releasing their first limited, vinyl only e.p. on smile for a while. now, who are those guys? one of the bros - dj eb-clectic - helped building germany s hip hop scene during the late 1980s and 1990s in frankfurt / main, but also did some chicago house tunes with deskee and gene farris on force inc. in the 1990s, as well. this brother is a real keeper! the other bro - leander janik - is in his mid 20s and quite an avid home composer on his little roland synthie. he s a long term member of the s4aw crew, and has shared a studio with all the other guys. needless to say the brothers are hell of a dj duo, too...
