body 11 is/was the one-man project of tim stickelbrucks. inspired by the late 70s/early 80s icons such as omd, human league, and cabaret voltaire, tim wrote and recorded 4 songs in 1987 in his apartment and self-released the mind 7 inch ep in 1988. rather obscure at the time, the 7 gained cult status later in the 90s when collectors and word of mouth fans began seeking out copies of the record.medical records is proud to reissue the mind ep 4 songs along with unreleased recordings created at the same time. the unreleased tracks were songs that were distributed only on cassette (to friends, etc) at the time. the tracks have been transferred from cassette.

every now and then, a record comes along…this is one of those occasions. but...it is not any old record, it is a new one. specifically, the new 12inch single from sundown drive, brought to you by mind fair and rogue cat sounds. moving on from the body and soul that embodied their first trip, sd transcend you to the annals of deep clubland and melodically twist your heart strings with an early morning flutter and a tantric tension. the meandering-yet-purposeful piano finding its feet later in the proceedings this time, but rising to full effect, leaving only the dub to knock us sideways into a beautifully-simplistic dark alley of spring reverbs, synthesized prophecy and the voices in ya head telling you to give it up.
chris spero (otherwise known as uk house and techno producer glimpse) and hypercolour co-founder and producer, alex jones, return once again as dense & pika to the hotflush fold with move your body back. having crept out of the shadows back in 2011 with a collection of white labels released through their own eponymous imprint, dense & pika went on to bolster their rising profile with the release of their hotflush debut (crispy duck) which landed late last year as well as with their memorable live set at hotflushs recent boiler room takeover. there is nothing chin-strokingly complicated or needlessly over-worked about their productions. they make interesting techno aimed at the dance floor and move your body back continues with this central aesthetic. the three track ep plunders percussive depths by way of stern machine rhythms, swollen low-end grit and the echoing, anthemic elements of warehouse rave techno. the title track of the ep may already be familiar to many having appeared on their resident advisor podcast in march and is already being played out by maya jane coles, boddika and adam beyer, amongst others.

the revenge has created a devilish duo of *lose my head* dub remixes to contrast against the funky original from brooklyn synth-pop quartet body language. relentless builds, tight drum kicks, and a hypnotic 303 bass-line create a perfect detroit house beast named dub 1. his equally naughty brother dub 2, will transfix you with throbbing chords and tight percussions, building up to an epic swell of dance-floor mania, beware of the insanity-causing drop!
emile strunz continues his mid-tempo journey charting a course through the harder, darker waters of electronic dance music with the north sea body music ep on flight recorder...
complicated universal cum is the solo project of frederik valentin. valentin is already involved in numerous rock constellations around copenhagen, but none as uncompromising as complicated universal cum.

second release on his diagonal label has powell ploughing a deeper furrow into his modern take on the sound of no-wave, ebm / metal-dance and other ancestral, primitive machine music forms, maintaining an icy cool aesthetic akin to that of his his debut release. loosely-arranged , these five tracks hold an off-kilter charm that evokes the rugged intensity of pre-sequencing era post-punk. calling all fans of 23 skidoo, mark stewart and the mafia or new-beat / ebm pioneers, liasons dangereuses, we suggest that you get on this one immediately.

a true product of torontos thrillingly cosmopolitan grooving pot, this chinese-italian duo is quickly earning a rep for crafting highly effective acid tracks with just a hint of banger. they initially earned notice with their first ep, >vaporizer<, on this is music, before making fans out of some big names with these tracks, with brodinski championing >body acid< and forcing turbos a&r vibetrust to perk up their unbelievably jaded ears.
if you arent sold on the ontario-buzz, then maybe you will pay attention to two awesome remixes by the bombest bulgarian, kink. the deep mix is a lush, throbbing body-rub, and the acid version is a highlight-reel of peak time mayhem, already caned and charted by erol alkan and tiga. if nothing else, >body acid< is a vital reminder that acid goes into your body. thats just the way it works.

how many people would have believed such a thing could work? would diva-like vocal grace and cool, calculated club sound efficiency not react like matter and anti-matter upon contact with one another? yet perhaps this is where the secret of her distant charm lies, the glamorously crafted cool, the vague elusiveness of aérea negrot. last year the venezuelan vocal wonder silenced any doubters with her first single >all i wanna do<, creating a new platform for her boundless range of musical expression alongside her career singing with hercules & love affair. now her second 12 inch is coming out on bpitch - just in time to set the tone for her coming solo album. the berlin sound wizard tobias freund is on hand once more to produce and mix ìright body, wrong timeî. he has commanded the mixing desk for a whole host of artists and labels from minus to warner over the last twenty years or so and made himself a regular fixture in the bpitch sound cosmos with his production work for ellen allien, dance disorder, heartthrob and indeed aérea negrot
