SOUL MACHINE (P. HORREVORTS / E. VOLTA RMXS) (CLEAR VINYL)
Coloured 12 Inch 17.11.11
after 18 months of intense work in the studio shades of gray are finally ready to release their debut album >soul machine<. the duo have progressively established themselves over the years by releasing consistently solid tracks for labels such as neurotraxx deluxe, salted music, om records, dark energy, tronicsoul and of course their home label beef records. the album is a definite progression for sog, heading deeper into the sampling territory and drawing on whats come before to define their vision of the future sound of house music. reinterpreting influences from soul to disco through the sharpened lens of 2012 production, sog have delivered a stunning collection of tunes that have that instant classic feel that will remain relevant for years to come. this vinyl sampler features the title track soul machine with a deep interpretation by eric volta aka kid dub. on the flip side we have a party monster called back to the future with a huge disco/tech remix by peter horrevorts who has been doing really well lately with his releases on trapez, tronic and beef - special transparent vinyl pressing!
elias landberg from skudge introduced me to bleak, saying he thought i d like his music, and he was very right! bleaks tracks have a unique mixture of deep hypnotic and repetitive grooves with a special soul and magic to them. i let you discover the tracks, and i hope you d like them as much as i do! - dj deep.
yeah, coming through the nyc pipeline via plan b recordings, murphy continues to materialize tunes straight from dreams into realities with a 4 track ep of acid, deep house, and ambient tunes that signifies samples from his inner music self. listen to murphys unconscious moments rising to the top of himself, straight from the underground for the underground.
exactly two years after his first sirion release we proudly present mastras second 12 inch titled >out of nowhere<. this time around in collaboration with his buddy jon donson, who also released his first ep on sirion in spring 2010. the mood and structure of this latest coup entirely reflects the familiar yet different of the bernese natives mastra & jon donson. for the first time in form of an exciting fusion of individuals signed by both distinct handwritings. >out of nowhere< is a deep and, owing to a impulsive bass drum, repetitive deep house track. this impression is given through a state of mind clearly offside of a classic course. nevertheless its bits and pieces remain stuck and arent easily banished. pablo bolivar is known for his large spectrum of high quality compositions. upholding that standard he delights with yet another impressive interpretation. the subtly chosen synth revive the base of the original track - an impulsive remix of vast variety.
after a big release from sweet n candy, amazing records continue their roll with a superb 2 year of amazing records sampler. a compilation more than a standard release, the music is supplied by mihalis safras, toni rios & andre walter, marko nastic, m.in & jonas, luigi madonna, simone tavazzi, sweet n candy, maurizio vitiello, matthew hoag, marka t, luca morris, mauro alpha & dalbe, mladen tomic, alberto pascual and a track from the label heads minicoolboyz!

october and john osborn are proud to present the inaugural 12inch on their newly minted bristol and berlin based house & techno label: tanstaafl records. tanstaafl is an acronym for there aint no such thing as a free lunch. we kick things off with john osborns debut release, epoch 4 backed with a darker, reduced, dub-influenced version. john based in berlin worked with october in his bristol based studio to create and produce some wonderful, raw, dirty analogue house music. both tracks were meticulously produced by herr osborn and recorded and engineered by october. laurie appleblims joined the studio session and he dove straight into the juno 60 and played the melody that finnishes the track off. tough floor business for your feet and mind, tried and tested around the world. a great start for this promising label.
volta cab has made quite an impact on the nu disco / deep house scene since last year. he is a multitalented, versatile producer, performing brilliantly in a range from from nu disco, deep house, soul, techno to breakbeat. approaching music in an open way, he is not restricting himself to a certain genre, catching the zeitgeist. on serenades, volta cab takes us back to 1992 with a 4 tracker called >house of the rising fire ep<. all of the tracks are heavily influenced by rave and house soundscapes of the early 90s. think of early prodigy, altern8, rachel wallace and baby d, combined with a modern nu disco twist.
falke is the nom de plume of falk golz from leipzig, who lived unseen in kanns musical neighbourhood. he already convinced with his seldom contribution for the family horror compilation and ties in now with an own melted down ep. follow the 3 inimitable dirty and trippy underground house-tracks and be curious about what can be expected more of him in the future.
galaktika prepares their first vinyl of the year with the hand of garnica, paulo olarte and maurice aymard teaming up with mr hot guy maceo plex. the small compilation is meant to be for those floor killer sessions and those layback down mixes a mixture between deep house and techno. why not give it a try in vinyl if we believe this are one the best original tracks the labels heads have made so far and with the support of one of hottest name in the scene. so take advantage of this exclusive 200 copies.

during a time when its more fashionable then ever to sample kenny dixon, >alright< uses a small and respectable vocal splice that references ferguson himself, marvin belton, & ferrispark records. heavy bass and beats eventually mutate into a smooth late-night house jam. side b laced with chatter, cheers, and claps resonates a >block party< feeling accompanied by chords, strings, sub-bass, and disco loops. enjoy! party people
nice price deal !!! wt records takes another expected turn by releasing a mini lp of new wave tracks from momentform. the first and most dj-able track, >momentform is fake<, spans the gap between new wave and house with 707 rhythmic patterns and raw, unedited bass lines. >selected works<, arguably the hit song on the lp, with its melancholic vocals and juno arpeggio has a way of finding its way into your brain and staying there. 6 tracks of excellent melodies and melancholy angst make this a great record for listening from start to finish.

another grandios 12 inch from the untz untz records guys with a top notch remix package. this time its a hometown affair with all artist being from bergen, norway. so what is this then? is it house? is it prog? is it (dear we say it) almost trance? honestly we are not sure, but we know that it is balancing that magical thin red line somewhere in-between there and that it sounds powerful.
france meets plakat records. yes, here comes lownza (jett rec. / time has changed) and robby olson. we love the deep house / techno tracks >another dimension< and >on an even keel< ... wonderful feeling! for the main time rocks marsets remix on b2. great rotation!

if ever there were more committed and fervent neighbours within the house and disco community today, then house of disco records would be flying the flag loud and high in the front garden for all to see.
after the success of their debut 12inch – the visions ep featuring james johnston, yse, tone control and basic soul unit – with support coming from the full house spectrum (including alex agore, brawther, danny tenaglia, deetron, ethyl, groove armada, red rackem and many more), its only natural city fly follow up their 1st release with a new ep to further showcase the deeper house sounds synonymous with their ethos. wanting to expand their vision yet stay true to their roots, for their 2nd release city fly are proud to present the ‘csa ep’ by creative swing alliance aka pablo valentino & steven wobblejay. not content in running faces records – featuring releases from simbad and danilo plessows motor city drum ensemble/inverse cinematics aliases – and releasing 12s under his creative swing alliance, kid swing and hipster wonkaz pseudonyms, pablo also co-runs the already iconic and buy-on-sight mcde imprint with danilo plessow and is an influential component in the label gaining notoriety and cult status with its raw cuts series – ubiquitous in many a djs set regardless of genre. steven has released records on compost records, soultronik & jazzmin under his moniker steppah huntah and played double bass for the japanese jazz band sleepwalker.

new release by kink and neville watson with sexual appeal made by the vocals of kim ann foxman (of hercules love affair). nice dub mix on the flip! their future-retro chicago house output made quite an impact on the scene over the past few years. with >a saturday in november< they keep their signature retro sound, but shift their tribute focus slightly on late 80 s new york and its >freestyle< days.
glass tear groove is the new concept release from drum machine rookie, inkswel. a follow up to the random yet bubbling >get to my party< release, this ep cohesively mashes together drum machine sounds and new wave funk tendencies. the title track featuring vocal funkster zackey force funk (baron zen/jellphonic/mike gao) brings forth a timeless love song vibe into inkswels popping and locking approach to song composition. >good times< is inkswels ode to post disco and pre house sounds, fuzzy yamaha synth stabs and watery chords. backed with the bonus beat vibe of >whos fooling who<, a stand alone banger for beat heads and party animals. also packaged with stellar remix work from ppu/superior elevation s tom noble aka disco tom.

2 tracks from ron trents dancefloor boogie delites cd. tell me is deep house groover with lots of spacey efx and the full rich voice of leroy burgess. would have been a staple back at the zanzibar. b/w work that body, a soulful house (mostly) instrumental for late nights.
hdr002 takes us straight to 90s house territory with four new edits from nycs marcos cabral. the a-side opens with >sym phon<, an anthemic filtered piano house jam that opens up wide and swallows all in its path. a2 gives us >better think again< with sticatto chords and twinkling keys in a jersey-esque house sound. the b-side hits with >in the sea<, starting off with a giant slow tribal beat and then morphs into a psychedelically swirling synth workout. b2 wraps things up with >get get get< turning our ears to old school chicago house. rolands tr-707 lays the percussion down while the chant of >get in the groove< repeats into infinity
excellent deep house album. andy vaz s straight vacationing, his first full-length artist album, since the 2006 release of repetitive moments last forever…, registers as less a straight-up collection of dance-floor burners and more of a variety pack that mixes club tracks and full-fledged house songs. listeners hungry for just ordinary 4/4 throw-downs will not entirely get their share of those, but they ll also get a whole lot more on this dynamic and well-rounded set of eight album tracks and that is exploring house music not just as a simple one way street, but give you a very personal view of the music we call house.
on this vinyl co-founder of net-label chevengur melody sol collected the best works of talented residents of the label living in far away cities and towns of eastern part of europe. you wont ever get such a compilation from famous labels or producers. here you can listen to underground sound of telegraph (promising minsk duo), groovy tunes of east soul person (disco birds) and experimental-dance music of uncle deep (ethereal sound, appetit, denkbar). a record for the dance-floor and a pleasant home listening.

geno is pleased to present our second release from jonny cruz. jonny hails originally from san juan, puerto rico but currently splits his time between berlin and miami. you may already know him from his deep tech house releases on cocoon, vakant, dame, and my favorite robot.
the sugar lips ep is a sleek and sexy tech house record made for the dance floor. sugar lips simmers and pulses. these are lips you would not mind kissing. the flip side features lati for another functional yet sophisticated dance floor bomb, alfaguara. transparent and playful synths and a deep organic bass define alfaguara. we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
