lux recs first record for 2015 is a dark and moody affair coming from momentform, a french musician that has no fear to plunge into obscurity, melancholy, a somber look into memories that are too painful to forget. yet, he transformed all those postcards from the past into listening and dance material. our last dance together. turn off the lights when leaving.

the opening track on this double sided gynltd series comes from hironori takahashi. speclaz displays sharp panned cymbals and sonics, underpinned by a pulsey rhythm and modulated organesque synths. the takaaki itoh remix is a deeper and more moody affair, albeit with a similar syncopated rhythm structure and some tasty modulated acidic synth stabs with filtered atmospherics. on the flip-side, myk derill s crossroads takes a turn for a more broken industrial rhythm with looped vocal chants holding it all together before breaking down into a washed out synth breakdown, then returning to the pre-emnent fat rhythm and vocalised stabs. finally track 4 sees philippe petit remix, with the artist opting for a very stripped back 4-4 hi-hats/percussive workout underpinning minimalistic modulated synth and gentle bassy offsets. the most tooled-up track of this ep.

the sphere is a new mini-series within the nachtstrom label consisting of seven parts. the series will be produced by nachtstrom regular bjoern torwellen and his partner in crime cortechs and contains a number of outstanding dark and bass-heavy techno rollers in the best tradition of the infamous german imprint. part 1 will be coming on smokey marbled vinyl!
