this limited edition 7 vinyl from mcm, released in conjunction with headcount records is a little slice of history. the former lyricist and front-man of the pioneering uk hip hop crew, caveman delivers two solid joints. caveman was the first uk hip hop group to get signed to a major label and signed to profile records in 1990. the crew quickly established themselves as one of the uks most popular and versatile acts. over 20 years after the first caveman album, mcm is back. the a side cut, r.e.a.l (rhymes equal actual life) is featuring fellow high wycombe emcee c-lone and is produced by rinse dog with the cuts by mr brown. the b-side cut is through and through mcm.

madteo, vinalog (a.k.a. emg and john swing) and third side have remixed xenogears >multiverse<. xenogears is the name of the first studio project of marieu and lucretio, also known as the analogue cops. with this moniker they released a bunch of seminal techno cuts on the first chapters of their restoration imprint, back in 2007. now, the xenogears are back and a full album titled >lost artemis< will be released in spring 2014 featuring their distinctive fast minimalistic, detroit-inspired and machines-driven techno.>multiverse< is the single choosen to transmit the sound of their forthcoming album, which will also features collaborations with their >bratha< no mad ronin and the talented producer known as objekt.

collaborations are often the fortune of timing. with andy having moved on since closing the dissident label to launching his cave paintings project to tim s departure from battant and striking out as andrew weatheralls engineer and soon to be co-member of the asphodells, an alliance was born between the two to undertake a series of live jam sessions at eachs respective studios. a love of new wave, new beat, uk bleep and detroit techno all feature in b-ultras and the aptly titled, neu beat. both cuts are heavily soaked in the pitch black, smoke machine funk and strob-laden fug of andys (and co-hort joe hart) infamous world unknown dancefloor. running at around 10 minutes the tracks are essentially an examination of acid houses ideals. clattering hats, throbbing basslines, stabbing keys and doses of 303. keeping it pretty simple but all about a pure groove on and on. backing these up is a remix of b-ultras from jamie paton that accentuates the groove and drags the acid deeper down to some b-boy dub throwdown - with more to follow from all protagonists in 2014.
