�last days and time� is the third studio album by american r&b group earth, wind & fire, released in 1972, their debut album on columbia records. it was recorded at the legendary sunset sound studios in hollywood, california, with founder and multi-instrumentalist maurice white, verdine white and philip bailey. due to their live performances it cemented their status as the main funk band and set the stage for the band�s blockbuster breakthrough. songs on the album like �make it with you� (originally from bread) the pre-�brazilian rhyme� powerful funk sax style �power�, (which sounds like an early version of �serpentine fire�) and �remember the children� are excellent examples of the great songs and albums they have made during their career.

toms due is talented duo from etruria beat crew, they re now back once again on their home label with two bangers urania and caliope and two remixes. one from nina kravizs trip label young protégé nikita zabelin, the second from micol danieli, italian newcomer artist and owner of 030s vinyl record label. on the a side sit the two original tracks. urania is composed of a powerful techno groove on a simple but strong chord fitting perfectly on the climax of the middle of the track. second comes calliope, a toms due signature heavy rhythm with a happy techno synth melody, a must try for all dancefloors. on b side, nikita zabellin shows once again his minimal approach, pure analogue sounds with a bit of darkness. mico danielis chose to use a never ending rhythm that wont ever leave you alone, a very elaborate arrangement. keep an eye on this italian lady producer!

after putting the band on the map with their first ep two years ago, the band feathered sun has grown into a life of its own. the more live sets they have played, the better they have defined their style. they are spearheading a brand of sound healing music abstractly narrative, always poetic, sometimes flirting with darkness but always perfectly produced to carry the audience into their own world. feathered sun are the collaborative experiment of nu, jo.ke, raz ohara, chris schwarzwaelder, iannis ritter and acid pauli johannes laumer. each have active and flourishing solo artist careers, albeit still have time to collaborate with one another. the six-strong collective are a close-knit troupe who are primarily based in berlin and lima, peru. live improvisation is ultimately what brought the feathered sun project to life - they are open about their laidback, impromptu approach and this is apparent throughout this ep. side a was primarily crafted in peru by chris schwarzwaelder and jo.ke with raz ohara�s mesmerising vocals. the end material was then sent to nu in berlin who crafted two tracks out of it. the �bulbo� ep shows a willingness to explore different approaches within the collective and the music showcases their long-standing affiliation. it is a downtempo ep that has immaculate instrumentation, dreamy pads and brooding vocals throughout. this is intertwined with organic sounds and moody atmospheric melodies, gives the release a timeless and emotive ambience.

reissue of an eye for an eye by byrne & barnes: a true westcoast/aor masterpiece, produced in legendary music city muscle shoals (alabama) and originally only released on japanese label climax. in 1981, robert byrne followed up to his 1979 album, blame it on the night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist brendan barnes to record this rare westcoast classic. if they never recorded any other music together, both display incredible music career and went on to produce for many famous artists such as pointer sisters, patti austin, earth wind & fire, phil collins, brian mcknight, or boyz ii men to name just a few.

with his project fred und luna musician rainer buchmüller (sugar ray buckmiller) from karlsruhe, germany is paying tribute to his favourite electronic oriented music by using its characteristics like repetition and beautiful melodies, putting them in a contemporary context and preserving their subtle and seductive charm. fred und luna play their self described elektrokraut (concerning songs that are basically kraut mixed with electronic elements) and krautelektro (which is elektro mixed with kraut elements). they live in karlsruhe which, like düsseldorf, lies next to the river rhine. perhaps karlsruhe is the new (neu) düsseldorf, with fred und luna (as pioneers/vanguard).

ts10 is the 1st ep of the toneseries project. born from the collaboration between french music producer, live performer and dj - david k, and lumièreslanuit s co-founder and an der grenze s founder - edouard morin. however, it isn t clear which artist from their extended crew stands behind this 1st release, as if the berlin-based music label wanted to focus on the music rather on the artist. ts10 consists of two tracks, both deep and groovy. whereas ailleurs disseminates the perfect warm-up groove, desert snowflakes fires off a more dancefloor-driven vibe. with regard to the artwork, as shown on the cover, each track has its own colour. there is neither a a nor a b-side. the same applies to the record vinyl itself. each track stands on it own. as a result, ailleurs and desert snowflakes distinguish themselves from each other through their vibes and colours, although they remain in the same spirit. in summary, toneseries brings together the idea of interdependence between music and design: what colour follows on from music and, in return, which musicality comes out of colours.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome istanbul-based duo bärtaub (mutlu san & batuhan güler) for the 6th release of the label. as in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. whereas mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, batu is known by istanbuls house/techno aficionados as a restless dj. bärtaubs debut ep is called rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. in the end, they all come together in a harmonious manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.

they say you have your whole life to make your first album, years upon years of growth, learning and experience filtered into one perfect record. your debut is supposed to be the one you labour over, while the follow-up is meant to be served up within spitting distance of the last. well, not if you�re london based wild palms. �we did that in reverse,� explains the band�s sardonic, quick-witted frontman lou hill. �the first album was just the songs that we would play live, we wrote it really quickly. but this one took ages...� five years in fact.

for their tenth release, voodoo down has again chosen to debut a new act to add to their label roster. andy harper and nic ford have been making music together for over a decade but began releasing in earnest under the name maddermodes in 2014 on their own label, shift coordinate points. they have since put out records on the labels millions of moments and night drive music. their handful of releases have already drawn support from top names like move d and nick höppner, and its clear that the duos sound is only getting more refined with each successive record. the ep entitled emprical evidence is a wholly cinematic piece of work, spread across four tracks that unravel slowly, unified by a theme of pumping syncopated rhythms under sprawling pad and string progressions. its easy to get lost in the thick arrangements, and the inventive use of samples and melodic elements invite repeat listening. equally suitable for early morning hours, ultra-deep techno sets, or quiet home listening sessions.

london modular alliance is the raw and unpredictable music project from the uk�s best known, dedicated modular synth shop london modular. its members simon lynch, phil ventre and gavin pykerman met through a shared passion in modular synthesisers. impromptu gatherings and jams soon turned into live performances at clubs, festivals and museums. from the hushed environs of the tate modern and v&a to vast sweatboxs such as fabric, bloc, freerotation, weather and berghain, london modular clearly have a flair for all things modular. this year sees a return to bloc weekender as well as new adventures at festivals such as dekmantel. they create an intense live show with a huge setup of self-assembled modular gear. every set starts with one small looping beginning � a patch � and is expanded into a deep sonic landscape. with the use of cables they build unexpected circuits and explore the power of pure electronic sounds without the use of a digital software infrastructure. no laptops, no button pushing, everything is created on the spot using modular synthesizers and is based on live improvisations. overall lma tries to keep its live sets in the dark: unrecorded, off the internet and only for those who are present in the moment. a clear break with the capture-all mentality of the internet age.

house is ok, but oli, janis and homeboy never said they were exclusively a house label. introducing house of life and dgf to the world, they make a slight change in direction. this split 7 inch single leaves the world of 4/4 interpretations and takes the imprint to the land of creep hop and trip pop. house of life is a project of chaveli sifre riestra & nikias chryssos. they make songs about men who dance with no pants, jesus christ, satan, and darkroom murderers. their lyrics are channeled through occult rites, internet forums, computer codes, and therapy sessions.hans with no pants tells the story of a guy who likes to party with kids, eat cake and serve cool drinks. he lives in a house by the beach and invites guests to dance with him, but what goes on in his basement remains an unspoken mystery. on the flip, a number from dgf, a project of nikias & label honcho janis. greif meine hand was originally written for the original soundtrack of nikas short film the grandfather. after it got to the 2nd place on the intergalactic fm demo competition and got props by the likes of i-f, rude66 and dj tlr, we decided to give it a second chance by putting it on this lush 45.
