(ahd co-owner together with damian schwartz) and kastil this e.p. centers it s attention towards electro, but continue ahds heritage of giving a twist to those 90s sounds that influenced us so much, from early idm to detroit, all is present here. the opening track is the one that gives the ep it s name, an acid stomper build around an electro beat that builds up and down fiercely. the track maintains its tension throughout its whole length by building strings and arpeggios over its acid sequence, never transferring its beat to a straight kick, capturing the attention since its first second. proposed playground is build around a more steady electro beat, strings and sounds merge themselves around the beat to create a beautifully hypnotic piece where where some background melodies tickle our ears bringing memories from idm golden years. zero one is closing track, without leaving the electro rhythms the defined the whole ep the track is build around a phrenetic synth sequence that sets the path for the whole length, rhythms are rough and strong and its syncopated hitting adds emphasis on that frenzy atmosphere since its first second till the last.

his desert brothers ep, consists of 3 tracks, hide, withdrawal and, of course, desert brothers. it’s not easy to classify the ep in a specific music genre. all 3 tracks have a very distinctive drums programming and groovy bass. they could be easily played in a big club during the peak time of a set or at a dark basement during the after hours. they have this strange deepness that calms you down but at the same time the first kick after the break easily gets your fist up.
here at the genial headquarters, we always try to find the balance between things, people, relationships, music and maybe stefan dichev has just done that with his desert brothers ep… he found the balance!

dynarec started making music in 1994. his productions, influenced by drexciya and dopplereffekt, are a mix of deep atmospheric pads and leads with – cool to very heavy – drums.his first releases on delsin in 2003 and 2004 were picked up by dj’s such as laurent garnier and dave clarke. after some more records on nature and kondi, he started his own « vaporwave » label in 2005, four records were released to date. he is able to fill in some very emotional and melodic workout that makes you wonder, how is he able to do that? playing piano since he was 6 years old could be an answer to his performing skills. apart from delsin, nature and kondi, he has also released on southern outpost, electrix and lately, on keith tucker’s puzzlebox label (us) and on cultivated electronics (uk). dynarec also releases music under the names of speakwave and chris kalera. he has performed worldwide, including festivals such as the famous stereolize, in paris, and the amsterdam dance event, amongst others.

phooka releases two tracks on love blast records: an intense techno ep focused on dark ambient drones and bassline. -armspin- was made for the dancefloor, mental groove and an insistent rhythm. -floating drops- is a more experimental vision of what techno could be, with big kick, breakbeat and deep aggressive synths. -throwing technques- is a glimpse into the techno genre, coming as limited 12s-sided, first 100 silkscreened on one side.
dutch powerhouse creme organization started a brand new label entitled jericho one. the man behind the first ep is berlin based brit bnjmn, who has released on label like delsin and rush hour and has a strangely melodic, lo-fi sound. opener skur is a hurried techno jam with frosty textures and bleak industrial vibes. it sets the vibe for the total feeling of the ep which is way more floor facing compared to bnjmn s earlier productions. this is a truly out there and wild ep that once again finds bnjmn experimenting on the outer fringes of the techno world in his own unique, distorted way.

the dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between kontra-musik s ulf eriksson and sebastian mullaert (aka minilogue). as most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: ulf would play records and sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. as they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at trouw, amsterdam, ulf and sebastian decided it was time to conceive the dance. once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. the dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at kontra-musik s home field inkonst, malmo, sweden.

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht” parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

for more than a thousand days and nights, nico stojan tapped away at what is now before us as ‘twisted manners’ - his debut album telling stories in sound that are both electronic in nature and human in touch. each organic sounding track on the release, including their neighbouring interludes, graze on the moments, people and cultures which have encompassed the albums journey and brought it forward to what it is today. these inspirations have merged from moody mornings in foreign lands (‘blue hour’) to his love affair with the elements of jazz (‘tortured paper’), to the breezy ways of the pacific island people he connects with so much (‘maori girl’). these diverse cultures and the passing musicians who have importantly contributed to the essence of the album have built strong yet invisible strings with a myriad of voices and instruments which weave throughout the music giving us a piece of work that is both textured in flavour and rich in motive. twisted manners is a clean example of this - house music whose soft open spaces and gentle beats sway easily through analog sounds coming from string quartets, saxophonists and double bass players to name a few. these collaborations and stojan’s guiding ear will walk you right into the dreamy spaces and faraway places of his travels without you breaking a sweat. seasoned with moments stolen under the fading light of day, long trips into the beautiful nothingness of his eclectic surroundings and respect for electronic music that is both timeless and sincere, ursl records is delighted to present stojan s debut album, ‘twisted manners’.

als unser guter freund lexx mit diesen tracks von look like auf uns zukam, wußten wir noch nichts von diesem jungen talent aus zürich. nachdem wir uns seine musik anhörten, blieb uns aber nichts anderes übrig, als sie zu veröffentlichen. seine musik ist beinflusst vom klassischen sound aus chicago und detroit, beinhaltet aber auch elemente der uk-bass music, sowie die aufgeschlossenheit von jemandem, der stets auf der suche nach progression ist.
