truly beautiful deep house records are things to be treasured, akin to proper songs that will last the test of time, not made to meet a fleeting fad. this is one of those records and a real pinnacle & departure for blm & pawas. although the term deep is an oft overused one, >waiting game< personifies the genres true key traits with a subtly moving groove that gradually builds, using layers of subtle percussion and a rich, warm synth motif to make a rich tapestry of sounds before finally introducing the beautiful female vocal that gives the track its name. patrice scott liked the track so much that he agreed to remix it - his first ever outside of his own, excellent, sistrum label. using plenty of the original track parts but taking it a different direction, patrice really has come up with something special. the track moves along with snippets of the main vocal and clever use of the main synth, the groove being underpinned by patrice s classic sense of production before moving into a more classic >detroit< ending - a mindset with a bigger, more dramatic sensibility

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.

dollar mambo is a fantasizing. his name is taken from the title of paul leducs film. a movie realized in panama where you find no dialogues but only music and dance to narrate the story. like in the seven dollar album, all tracks have an authentic south colour and are built, not like a film but in a way where everyone can easily imagine a sketch. all tunes are about dancing, intensity, surprising and finally a great tribute to musicians. youll find a lot of sampled instruments from massive percussion, trombone, trumpet, voice (soleil) to guitar, gitarone (gringo) and marimba (wonderful)... like a dream this album is born for those who are searching for something different, illuminating and deeply happy

spirit catcher is becoming more and more a permanent member of the systematic family. after their debut e.p. last year and their contribution to the >5ysyst< project last summer, these three tracks are their latest productions on my systematic imprint. something which always impresses me a lot is how jean and tom continue todevelop their distinctive spirit catcher sound, no matter if they release on 20:20 vision, nrk, moodmusic or elsewhere. its always an awesome mixture of fluffy driving house beats, a portion of deepest darkness and freshhypnotic sounds figures! i love the way how they do install the dark organ melody at >sedona<. the organ soundspretty outta space and lets me float away once i have closed my eyes. also, the mystic mood at >future fools<generates me a goose skin, every time i hear it.
