collaborating in art, music and science since 1999, recently founding the label magazine and the collective cologne tape, this is nevertheless the first time barnt, crato and jens- uwe beyer appear together as one formation, simply called magazine. if you combine their recent releases - barnts stunning debut ep >what is a number, that a man may know it?<, cratos acclaimed and mysterious >30.6.1881<, j-u beyers incredible sound work on his highly respected last album (with jaki liebezeits drums off chaos) and add the cologne tape recordings you can get an idea of the formations cosmos — but you are not quite there ...

hot beats, killer piano loops and crazy grooves are some of the ingredients present in our next release on bla bla records. label boss daniel sanchez teamed up with bla bla goldenboyz el mundo & satori to bring you 3 outstanding tracks wich bring you to sunny places. enjoy your summer with bla bla records!
next up on tirk we have a brand new act, named free school. hailing from birmingham, shoegaze duo andy and steve bring the sunny balearic sounds of summer and the icy kosmiche sounds of winter all in one sweeping hit. free school are maximalist and minimalist all at once.
the band like to compare themselves to caribou, orbital, hot chip, fourtet, and pet shop boys, all pretty good touchstones in our eyes, however it was the sheer gloriousness of their music that had us hooked.
their debut ep features the uplifting and euphoric >ranting and raving< and the 9 minute sound-movie >lemon<. remixes come from richard norris and his time and space machine project (we are going to have to put this guy on the payroll soon) and russian ice cool customer sportloto. free school also appear live (in sheep masks no less) so watch out for them at a venue near you. their debut album is in the pipeline and already sounding good.
in the south of panama lies the darien gap, a vast unpenatrable jungle swamp that divides central and south america. it is so hostile that even the pan american highway stops there in what would otherwise be a non-stop highway stretching from alaska to argentina. many explorers never returned and it is believed that the 10.000 square mile piece of green hell is home to secret guerilla bases, drug labs and many mysterious & dangerous animals.
release no. 4 on the limited label is done by the two german djs tensor& re-direction. both are resident djs in the well-known cosmo club in oberhausen and already played on big hardcore partys like army of hardcore, earthquake, hardcore warriors, pussy motherfuckers and many more. besides that, tensor has been working for the important records recordstore and online-shop for more than 10 years and now moved to the label management.
the ep offers the two completely different tracks >fear<, a melodic mainstream slammer (with mc vocals by mc axys and a great remix by their friend thorax, still known from his release on important hardcore limited) and the hard, straight in ya face track >hate<, with a stunning remix by megarave artist squaresoundz.
district of corruption is proud to present a very unique collaboration between dilo and egon orange. dilo hails originally from buenos aires and is known for connecting the two worlds of rock and electronics. dilo is currently living in a perpetual summer, splitting his time between berlin and buenos aires. dilo is running his own imprint, igloo records, and has released on numerous other labels such as we are, minus, clink, unfoundsound, and einmaleins. egon orange made is production debut in 2009 on igloo. egon has also been refining his unique live show for several years. >take me home< is a tech-house gem. strong and repetitive percussion is set against dilos own fragile voice make this a perfect summer storm. we expect you will want to take this one home as the memory of a perfect night out. >röte< is the perfect flip. warm special pads pulse along with deeply hypnotic percussion and bass. ear candy is abundant but this is a no-frills journey. >röte< gently develops with lush analog keys and heavily processed vocal oddities.
and are a duo living in manchester, uk. they have released a split 12 inch with 16 bit on mindset in 2009, the second 12 inch on black sun records that came out recently and a couple of 12 inches on horizontal ground. they sent me various batches of tracks spanning a wide range of sounds, all rooted in techno to my ears but spanning different tempos, emphasis and mood. i selected three of those tracks to appear on this ep, ranging between 130 and 135 bpm. (project squared)
your imagination paints the picture as these sounds creep into the alleys of your mind … midwest maestros gmarcell (chicago) and keith worthy (detroit), get together on this one to create sublevel mayhem …. this is underground … this is deepness … this is: the rise of the dijital teknobots!!!!

in just a matter of months, life and death has swiftly established itself as purveyors of quality contemporary dance music, made by artists who would undoubtedly make anyone s short list of who i d like to invite to my afterparty . it seems only fitting then that with their newest release they ve recruited the undisputed kings of late night mayhem and madness for a paen tribute to that beautiful party after the party, the continuation of all things good and twisted.. the afterparty itself. not to take the issue of such a joyful celebration lightly, dop has gone on secret missions over the last 6 months, quietly (and often not so quietly) infiltrating afterparties worldwide and secretly extracting pituitary secretions from the rowdiest party goers at each of them. they then took these secretions, burned them in a special voodoo ceremony and immediately went into the studio to create a fitting tribute to the after-hours festivities we all hold so dear. once that was complete, friends were invited and even more deviants came to the party for some dirty late night remix action. clockwork (who s recently released it s you again on hot creations has already been the soundtrack to many an after party) are here, french wolf+lamb collaborator le loup is here, mas collective (who recorded on seminal nyc label strictly rhythm) is here and marius & david are here too.. everybody giving it their own special flavor. what an afterparty indeed.
patrick lindsey is no new comer . active in the techno world since more than a decade , releasing music on labels like terminal m , kanzleramt , kling klong , sci_tec to name a few . so when davide squillace and luca bacchetti received a demo from the german producer , they were really impatient to open the zip file and discover what was inside . the two discovered a four track ep full of analogue synths , organic beats and grooooove . so here is hideout ninth reference : get up and bounce ep by patrick lindsey . it all starts with > what i remember < a very strong anthem with a disco funk loop background and deep vocals by k. mason. the title track > get up and bounce < is next with its hypnotic >get up< voice snipet on top of a shuffled semi acoustic groove full of cow bells and snare drums. third track of the ep is named lockruf , evolving from a jazz sample thru vocal snipets , crazy drum rolls and saxo hooks. the last track of the ep is schleifkraft where a straight to the point chicago groove is topped with some more vocals , a very bouncy bass line and analogue synth sounds . a new reference in the hideout catalogue , four new techno tracks soon to become classics !
so here we go again, dj mehdi and riton are carte blanche. cant stop, wont stop. the new ep is called white man on the moon, and includes smashing jack on the moon, and next single with you, featuring alexis taylor from hot chip on vocal duties. the new mixtape is called house party 2: the pyjama jam. and last but not least, the new tour is called carte blanche revue, its worldwide, its djing and tr-909ing, its rollerskate dancing, its popping, and its locking (for real)
returning for a fourth ep on the label, berlins nick höppner continues his exploration into an ever-developing and rich production vocabulary. the rough goes with the smooth in perfect harmony on -a peck and pawn-. höppners unique sound design leads to a dense wash of sound sparkling with airy details and his characteristic sub bass subtleties, as the whole track gels together in a pushing modern house triumph. the spaced out and traveling -she parked herself- is a real fusion of the many influences behind the producers inspiration. bubbling percussion and pretty melodic structures fuse with a melting analog bassline in this high-tech and positive jam. with its heavy bass and late-night atmospheres -swivel flick- slows the pace in a warm, dubbed and droning thinkpiece that is just as cinematic as it is direct for the club. jostling just beneath the surface youll find a wealth of details that really shows off nicks talent and dedication to a non-standard groove
in the context of electronic music, 12 years is damn near eternity, and though those who have lived it may not remember all the stops along the way, the ones who have kept on top of scott monteiths deadbeat music project will tell you he has been no slouch. through 6 critically acclaimed albums for scape and wagon repair, as well as countless singles, remixes, compilation appearances, and last years radio rothko dj mix, monteith has explored the art of dub in a staggering array of contexts, and staked his claim as one of it s strongest champions. and while the last few years have seen him concentrate on the more dance floor oriented side of things, his latest album and first release on his new blkrtz imprint sees monteith returning to his roots in the headiest and heaviest of dub business.
as oscar wilde said music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory which is why shinedoe has arranged this intacto release with all proceeds given to the red cross in an effort to try and ease some of the suffering in japan
known for his releases on his own x-world communications, form, & casey hogans macintosh label, brad returns to the scene of his >excerpt from a deep souls diary< with 4 new deep house tracks.
HAMMOCK HOUSE - AFRICA CARIBE (MIXED AND PRODUCED BY JOE CLAUSSELL) 2LP
2x12 Inch 03.06.11
vinyl edition to the fania release! stock will be very limited!the project is a marriage between old and new,a fresh take on classic sounds from the fania archives.late last year, fania records hand-delivered the original multi-tracks in a battered cardboard box to joe claussells nyc studio.each track was approached and assembled differently, each on its own terms. as joe says, some songs were edited, some were time-stretched many parts were re-recorded some new parts were recorded on top.the first disc features nine classic fania tunes from lou perez, celia cruz, eddie palmieri, ray barretto and more, all re-worked with the joe claussell touch!
set time-dials to 2011 and engage. here we have two slick, italian producers bottin and rodion, they both may have (professionally) lost their first name, but they sure both make up for that with their italian style and extra analog-burbleness. their original vocoder nugget and dub both feature on the vinyl. for remix action we teleport over to argentina where toomy disco (a pretty spacey name already) delivers us some remix action. slick grooves, flowing bass guitar and more shine than a sparkly new saturn 5.
unless an intergalactic born space-plague fuses our brains back to reality, expect more cosmic lunacy in 2012. get your submissions in now producers.
nice price deal !!! with again and again, the second album from the swedish-american outfit thieves like us, the band sculpts their vintage electronic sound into honest, sentimental pop.
a journey into electronic, soulful, afro & latino rhythms
there are few labels who will get the opportunity to work extensively with the most dynamic remixers, djs and producers of this decade. bbe seems to keep coming up trumps. grammy award winner louie vega has been on top of the dj game for over 2 decades.
there are few labels who will get the opportunity to work extensively with the most dynamic remixers, dj s and producers of this decade. bbe seems to keep coming up trumps. grammy award winner louie vega has been on top of the dj game for over 2 decades. he gained further notoriety as part of the collective known as ‘masters at work’ with kenny gonzalez form a formidable partnership reminiscent of the greatest producers of yesteryear. quincy did it with chaka khan, james ingram, al jarreau and the brothers johnson, while gamble and huff did it with archie bell and the drells, harold melvin and the bluenotes, teddy pendergrass and mfsb.
“midnight feast of jazz” is therefore the first official full-length for this group, and includes 10 tracks of phat grooves, smooth arrangements and dance-floor friendly soul jazz available on cd/digital and limited edition lp!
