on this second release of 2010 we present you the first ep by christian wunsch on audio assault. the spanish labelowner of highly respected tsunami imprint delivers two slamming dance-floor destroyers in his typical style, bringing you mind-twisting melodies and straight in your face kick-drums. remixes on both tracks are done by bas mooy and inigo kennedy, both delivering peak-time material. the digital release will also feature a remix by the talented japanese newcomer asagaoaudio, who recently made his debut on sub-label arms.

we welcome this fantastic producer on trapez with this piece of music which is quite different from most of what we get today. the title track >ghosts< feels like as if klaus nomi and kraftwerk were performing together... something we would have loved to have seen but which never happened. this track is not for the people who love it safe but for the adventurous and the wicked. voices like sirens striking with high pitched tongues being counteracted by basslines with a surface that can only be described as rough as chunks of splintered steel. a brilliant stop and go feeling shows that christian martin is the master on the steering wheel when it comes to controlling the movement.

christian loefflers raise ep is one of the most stunning pieces of recorded electronic music - at least thats what glitterbug and the rest of c.sides thought when the demo was first played back in their cologne studio, and they have been in love ever since.

hive audio is here – a brand new label, run by the makers of the infamous hive club, located in the the industrial quarter of zurich. the imprint was founded by samuel gmur and adrian wöllhaf, better known as animal trainer with some great releasing on oliver koletzkis stil vor talent, amongst others. zurich is not only party capital of beautiful switzerland, it is more and more becoming a habitat for talented and creative music producers and djs, who will now get a new international platform. releases will be held mainly by residents of the hive club itself – benja will be given the honour to start off with his track paradose. >paradose< impresses with a funky percussion loop, ultra-brief chords and scantily applied vocal snippets. benja keeps it dust-dry, leaving out every kind of frippery and lifting the track to a real &#64258,,oor-&#64257,,ller without any razzmatazz needed. on the &#64258,,ip we have a remix by christian burkhardt, who needs no further introduction. he turns the number into a real techno loop monster, which will catch you within a few beats, and then wont let loose again. hypnotic and twinkle-toed at the same time, his remix easily will suit any after hour or peaktime set to the same degree. christian burkhardt himself is also one of our favourite guests in the club. this is why, of course, we are double happy to welcome a hive club resident on our hive audio 001.

>seleccion natural< is a project made by the cream of spanish techno, this four part work has seen the light on different labels and now its time for warm up.
oscar mulero delivers the original parts and version for this tune, reworked and revisited by the rest of the partners in crime: christian wunsch, exium and reeko, each one giving their own vision on the noises made by oscar.
original mix kicks off with broken rhythms, crunchy and industrial like, with a heavy synth line approaching till sweeping drones and abstract textures bring to an epic breakdown that will sure destroy more than one bass speaker. another energetic piece of intelligent dance floor techno.
wunschs work is more direct and 4x4 based, taking the synth line from the original and adding detroit flavoured stabs and sharp claps to make a massive techno tool.

after his outstanding album debut christian naujoks is back withthe first of a 12 inch trilogy to be released on dial records. adoring the sound of pitched down pre-recorded strings dressed in deep, dub-styled echoes, east end boys is a song dedicated to to the raw and powerful sublimity of physical sounds. the song was created while naujoks was working on a live set for the akustic saloon at legendary berlin based berghain club in april 2009. overwhelmed by his flatmates live performance, lawrence decided to produce a remix of his favorite christian naujoks tune >bloom<, which appears on the flipside.

>elixir< is a driving monster with one of the catchiest and most addictive hooks of the year, instantly recognisable and is sure to be the highlight of many sets as it has been for fergie over the summer. on remix duties is mr henry von, who runs excentric sub-label rekluse with fergie. his >tribal rage< remix utilises the original hook, adds an interesting array of percussion, then takes the listener on a mind-melting journey full of twists and turns. gary beck (still on a roll after his massive >consumed< on minus) also takes hold of the remix reigns and delivers a deep and hypnotic workout that has already been included on christian smiths forthcoming renaissance compilation he liked it so much.

on remix duty here is amsterdams rising star, anton pieete, who takes a slightly more subtle but no less infectious direction. he sits æmistral on a hypnotic tech groove that takes a deeper journey, and is entirely effective for setting up a different vibe in any djs set. its already getting the thumbs up from carl cox.

the latest gigolo release is one for the summer! aptly titled hot it comes courtesy of ivano coppola and christian prommer, the former being one of italia s most respected dj s and the latter being, amongst other things, one of the main collaborators for hells critically acclaimed album teufelswerk. taking a sample from willie ninjas classic record hot and building a track around the chords and the vocal leads us to our starting point ivano coppola plastic mix!
ivano coppola has been the resident dj at milan s plastic club since 1992, so it is fair to say that he knows what works on a dance floor, or, to use a popular phrase, what is hot and what is not. it is with this historical knowledge that we find the genesis of our track. i found it necessary to go back in the past, to start producing once again in a 90 style - using samples. the next step was to come back into the future and reach out to christian prommer, highly respected by many including ivan i consider (christian prommer) one of the best producers of the moment! he loved the idea, the remix was huge, and so we decided to co-produce the record. simple!!!
but, for christian this was more then a remix, hence the co-production credit! i liked the idea of translating an early 90 s house-music-sample in to a sample-style-percussive-techno-tune. lots of live played drums and percussion in this one, of course. i only later learned that the sample we used is from one of my house music heroes, maws louie vega. naturally the record found its way into the hands of gigolo in the best way possible, and in the tradition of such a great record label – i played it at the gigolo night in munich and hell came to me dancing and took the tune into his heart.
