in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years.

donso meaning hunterin bambara is the result of the collaboration of four talented musicians coming from france and mali: producer pierre antoine grison (who also releases his own music on ed banger records as krazy baldhead), malian vocalist gedeon papa diarra, guimba kouyate on guitars and djele ngoni (traditional malian string instruments), thomas guillaume on percussions and donso ngoni.

focusing on a rich blueprint, with echoes of chicago house, detroit techno, and uk ambient techno flowing through its futuristic core, donnacha explores further his love for deep, hypnotising grooves, rich synth themes and emotive harmonies. colour in sound, space and clarity are at the centre of the wonderful production found in every track.
