thomas blanchot, 40 years old percussionist and drummer, started his production structure mato production in 2001, with which he collaborated and directed for many projects. composer, music publisher and producer of music for tv, advertising, films and records, he also began a career as reggae producer since 2006, under the name -mato-. since then he�s released music through various projects concepts, coming out through labels such as makasound, edr records or big singles. in the meantime he developed a real trademark: taking over classics french, hip-hop, or pop song, into roots reggae-dub new versions. besides since 2010, mato�s built a solid reputation thanks to his many remixes of hip-hop classics on stix records. it is therefore natural to find him back with a new attractive concept on the favorite recordings� sub-label: seasoning the notorious -homework- by daft punk, with his special reggae-dub sauce. once again mato achieves a brilliant rendition with this homework dub, making almost dreadlocks grow on the french robots� heads! using kick-effects, delays and roaring bass, he reinvents one of the most famous albums of electronic music, as if it was straight-out from scientist, king tubby or mad professor� studios in jamaica.

phat 2020 album !! an album had been finished by the spring of 95 and all recorded onto dat and placed in a box. k&d pressed up 10 copies and gave 4 away to some suitably eccentric individuals. fast-forward a quarter century and that box was discovered, the music was transferred from the dats and k&d painstakingly rebuilt every molecule that made up the original 10 copies. the long-awaited result is here - 15 glorious tracks that will transport listeners back to the smoky haze of 1995.

recently, superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in south africa. he bought a custom made safari hat at his favorite milliner in cologne (ju&#776,rgen eifler) and set off with big eyes and a pair of binoculars. it was wild and wonderful and he saw many exotic (and big!) animals, even a leopard in a tree that told him the secret of the universe. he forgot what the leopard said because his mind was still playing and replaying the sound of what he heard on the first night of his arrival Ð the hypnotic and moving sound of the voices of africa, the voices of the wonderful tanda tula staff choir. there, the choir members work during the day at the camp and at night entertain the guests with their captivating voices and energetic dancing. so impressed was he with their songs and beautiful shangaan language that he decided to record a cd for them to sell in the shop at their camp and now this precious recording is also available through hippie dance / bush recordings on vinyl and cd for you in whatever wherever camp you are. the lp of the tanda tula choir comes with a very pretty poster.

with many influences, the musicians of la mano create a peculiar sound, a rock-salsa-ra�-reggae-rap cocktail which they baptize patchanka. manu chao, who writes lyrics, gives to the patchanka a more personal definition: a popular dance with apache lyrics and chorizo spirit. the band starts touring across france in october 1987 and rapidly establishes a solid reputation. a few months later, when the second record putas fever is released, the success is obvious. tracks sung in french, spanish or arabic, pas assez de toi, king kong five or sidi hbibi are immediate hits. after a long live-cruise in 1992 along the south american coasts, la mano negra gets back to france and separates in 1994. its hard to tell the impact of la mano negra across french and spanish speaking countries, with as many particular experiences that people lived during their tours.

die geschichte von -ton steine scherben in dub- begann vor 20 jahren. nach zwei aufsehenerregenden kompilationen des damals noch jungen labels echo beach, die ein schlaglicht auf das britische und internationale dub-schaffen der mittneunziger warfen, sollte sich -king size dub volume 3- auf deutschland konzentrieren. neben den toten hosen, fantastischen vier und nina hagen dachte man dabei auch an die scherben. so kam es zu einem ersten treffen mit r.p.s. lanrue, dem ehemaligen scherbengitarristen und musikalischen nachlassverwalter der band. dadurch landete eine version von -mole hill rockers- auf dem sampler. und dann passierte erst mal nichts mehr. bis labelchef nicolai beverungen zwei seiner dub-spezialisten, n�mlich fe wolter (dubvisionist) und alexander hornbach (aldubb), zu einer weiteren zusammenarbeit mit r.p.s. lanrue bewegen konnte. jetzt wurde es konkret. obwohl f_r die scherbenwerke keine mehrspuraufnahmen vorlagen, gelang es den dub-arch�ologen, die essenz der st_cke in exklusiven mixen zu erhalten. nur punktuell wurden durch overdubs spuren erg�nzt, verst�rkt oder tiefer gelegt. so entstand, was keiner f_r mÖglich gehalten h�tte: ein dub-kaleidoskop aus den scherben des westberliner klassenkampfes.
