after relocating from california at 7 years old, nasser grew up in a musical environment in new jersey. surrounded by gifted artists from an early age, nasser was fed a diet of authentic 70 s soul, 80 s pop and 90 s hip hop and r&b, which all influenced the spirit of his music and his trademark big production. at only 24 years old nasser displays real musical maturity and a subterranean fearlessness in his productions. mentored by house music master dennis ferrer, nasser has released three ep s and on the indispensible objektivity label, as well as remixing dennis iconic son of raw in 2017. his gramercy ep on suara revealed nasser s more techier side, exposing his wider abilities. his most recent release on objektivity, the just like that ep , dropped in summer 2017, in tune with his first ibiza season. a chance encounter at university during the acid house summer of ’88 and subsequent bonding over baby ford’s “oochy koochy” established a life-long friendship between leicester lads, jimi o’callaghan and al green. inspired by the sounds of detroit, early ny house like murk and masters at work and the emerging uk sounds of lfo, orbital and aphex twin, the pair began djing and making music as the wild geese. their first ep, “the wild geese ep”, was released in 1994 on their own giddy goose recordings imprint. the guys pressed 500 copies and, with jimi’s connections made interning with pete tong’s ffrr, sold copies direct to london shops. the record sported packaging designed to look like an american 12” and an accompanying press release attributed the ep to a fictitious dj duo hailing from wisconsin. rave reviews followed and a distribution deal was struck with vital uk, who produced and sold another 500 copies worldwide. another ep followed a year later. sadly, plans for a third ep on the label never materialized, but the pair remain close to this day. 24 years later we are honored to reintroduce this genre-defying, uniquely forward-thinking ep to today’s dance floors.

the next release on crosstown rebels sees made by pete come together once again with vocalist jem cooke. returning to damian lazarus’ impressive imprint, made by pete invites diynamic label boss solomun and gruuv founders audiojack to take on remix duties. the original cut of so long opens up the ep. you are at once immersed in its trance-inducing elements, intensified by cooke’s powerfully sensual vocals. solomun shapes the title track into a grittier, industrial version whilst audiojack’s leans on the more percussive side, with ambient sounds and a prominent vocal hook. closing the ep is modify saturn, a track graced by tribal drums that beckon you to succumb to the groove. made by pete has been carving a name for himself in the dance music scene over the past thirteen years. he’s had releases on respected labels such as dftd, crosstown rebels and kerri chandler’s madtech records. his music has been supported by some of the scene’s most respected taste-makers from pete tong to joris voorn and eats everything to groove armada. jem cooke has lent her stunning vocal talent to some major musical players including cher, zero 7, kate simko, martin garrix and hot since 82.

evod music is glad to welcome binny and dj surgeles on its limited catalogue. the english dancefloor killer and the dutch sci-fi master fused perfectly together on this split ep. organic by binny is a perfect tool, thanks to its mesmerizing acid sequence, masterfully fused with powerful drum patterns and hypnotic drone raids. missing link is another killer tool, perfect for a dance floor full of people. its old school sound and the various changes make this track a must have. the b side is managed by dj surgeles, with three outstanding sci-fi tracks. science fiction contains a randomic, spaced out sequence blended with heavy drums and various drum patterns variations. commander pete is the most millsesque track: in this piece there is a real space ambience, thanks to a its far pads, the electronic ringings and bleep sounds incursions that create a constant suspense, broken by the interruption from an astronaut radio message. the ep is closed by message to earth, an ambient outro that fits perfectly with all the other tracks.

after sharing his flair for producing polished house grooves on kwench records’ last ep, philly veteran pete moss returns to collaborate with cassy on the fifth release. this instalment gives two original tracks, and introduces aus music steamroller marquis hawkes into the fold as remixer. keeping to mind that cassy’s motive was to produce with esteemed artists that she personally came to admire, to be enlisted on two eps is a testament to moss’s finesse. for marquis hawkes, cassy’s admiration runs deep into his ability to expertly produce quality house music on many levels. last year he had three critically exclaimed releases on aus music, with ‘the basement is burning’ ep securing its place as a summer smash.
