at last! the full 12:45 john morales mix of this underground boogie classic gets the proper vinyl release it has always deserved! all those discogs cowboys can now safely crawl back under their stones! replicating the original 1982 12”, except this one doesn’t fade out a minute and a half before the end. the original flipside is present, only this time cut at 45rpm for higher audio resolution. available from 14-07-2017. this release is (i think!) the first time all twelve minutes and forty-five seconds have been pressed on wax (in an ultra limited quantity) so don’t miss it, steven!

with bjoern torske, skateboard, telephones and last not least the sex tags label all hailing from bergen, the city s not been exactly short on world leading “d.i.s.c.o” , but it s geir hermansen aka velferd that recently cought our ear with his keys. in “the city that drowned” it s unlikely only ever so wet, there s bliss, sun, warmth, heat - all painted bright with skyrocketing masterful synths over very neat and dry bass. great! laid back and somehow dreamy the whole thing catches you by the ear and lingers on but then there s so much dedicated kick and an almost extatic groove in each track - irresistable string hooks made in heaven! “never” and “through the valley” add on to where the title song just left and this give the 3 track ep so much perfectly arranged strength… bergen might well have given birth to another disco standard-bearer.

a leopard cant change his spots and magnus international earned his spots in the sequence hue of oslos disco scene. disco is the single thread that runs through all electronic dance music. after an inconsistent hiatus from recording, the norwegian dj had donned the producer cap resolutely for his debut lp, echo to echo with us last year in 2016, the an additional much loved album bonus 12inch. that all, aside his many other projects for us in the last years. now 2017, magnus synths are on again, like a breath of fresh air and sunlight, these 4 tracks roll on to the world from oslos shores and as his usually best magnus is very strong on seamingly endless grooving chords and timing, sweet harmonycentric bliss and tight, on the point drum programming that comes with this pull factor wich makes you want to play or listen out loud over and over again. theres a chmmr remix as well so things look really good here!

after the huge success of ym001 supported by maya jane coles, arnaud rebotini, james teej and kasper bjørke (just to name a few), ylotana music is right here with a new sex of insects single. this time it is electronic anthem i am full completed with remixes by hiroshi watanabe aka kaito (transmat, ibadan, moodmusic), sergey sanchez (teamed up with mag day chuk) and sex of insects mastermind anatoly ylotana.

fouk are finally back on heist after their great ‘kill frenzy’ ep in 2014 and have taken mount liberation unlimited along for a remix. we’ve been waiting patiently for new material, challenging the guys to take the signature ‘fouk’ sound to the next level. fouk’s brilliance has been obvious on recent work for their own label outplay and razor ‘n tape, as well as their respective solo projects. we’ve kept a close connection, teaming up whenever possible for heist showcases, with highlights in amsterdam’s “claire” and paris’ “concrete-. seeing their work and enthusiasm made it abundantly clear that it would only be a matter of time before they’d show us what the next step would look -or better yet- sound like. anticipation ran high but boy, do fouk deliver. the excellent ‘with lasers’ ep still very much portrays their own style of loose, live percussion and many layers of funk, but they’ve expanded their vision and even toughened up a bit. their new taste for grit and an interest in the heavier side of funk is probably most evident on the opener ‘f3000&#8242,,,,,, where a thunderous arpeggio is supported by distorted drums and lush cosmic synth stabs. title track ‘with lasers’ is more of a classic fouk track, combining a lovely walking disco bassline and their signature drum programming with… erm… lasers. lots of them. the b side ‘see you on the other side’ sets a different pace, carefully blending guitar licks, rhodesy chords and vocal chops into a lovely groove that feels just as carefree and improvised as it feels exciting. swedish synth nerds “mount liberation unlimited” ran with it and transformed it into a dreamy -pepe bradock goes balearic- track where airy echoed guitars take turns with some equally dreamy and evocative pads.

22 years ago saw the release of goldie’s debut album ‘timeless’ which truly changed the face of drum’n’bass, hardcore and jungle. the seminal record featured the iconic track ‘inner city life’ - the vocals for which were performed by the late diane charlemagne. in 2011, the guardian described the release of ‘timeless’ as one of the -50 key events in the history of dance music-. mobo award-winning songwriter, dj, producer, visual artist and actor goldie (mbe) will release a new double album ‘the journey man’ on june 16th, all written and produced by goldie. collaborators on ‘the journey man’ album include vocalist and songwriter natalie duncan, terri walker, tyler lee daly, natalie williams, jose james, naomi pryor as well as goldie’s wife, mika wassenaar price. goldie is also one of only a handful of artists ever to co-write with david bowie – on the track ‘truth’ from the drum‘n’bass pioneer’s second album, ‘saturnz return’ released in 1998. the album also featured distinguished collaborators such as noel gallagher and krs-one. goldie will be performing an exclusive, sold-out set of shows at london’s esteemed venue ronnie scott’s on 24th and 25th of february, where he will be performing with the heritage ensemble along with ‘the journey man’ vocalists terri walker, tyler lee daly and natalie duncan.

onboard having come up with an annual-ish drop of 12inches since 2010, even brenden aka chmmr set aside the spring of 2016 to challenge himself to a new format: a full-length album. a true nostalgic, he uses compass point-era and early italo sounds for inspiration and attempts to simulate these styles. this makes for a melodic, chuggy and graphic album that belongs a little more in the living room than on the dance floor. with 10 tracks of dusty rhythms and the honest, naive and spacious themes that is brendens signature, its a record designed to signal that todays technological future may not be as different as yesterdays. features a nice-looking cover painting drawn by the late harold cohens aaron program - automation at its finest. hidden behind his chmmr moniker is even brenden, whose summery debut found its way into the world via norwegian psych-disco label luna flicks in 2010. the record became somewhat of a soughtafter item and after making pit stops at relish, dødpop and untz untz records, he landed on prins thomas full pupp in 2014 and have stayed put ever since, all the while enjoying a steady habit of record jocking and the occasional keyboard duty in telephones now-defunct live band. even resides in oslo makes odd waves without vowels.

the scorpions 2001 acoustic release for the first time available on vinyl! acoustica was not cut in ther studio but filmed and recorded live behind the walls of a portugese monastery, pure and without any electronic amplification, surrounded by the group’s fans.

since laars epic crowdsurfing days touring with his former disco-band tog, laars has been honing his production skills with more metric music inspired by the classic godfathers patrick crowley and giorgio moroder for lysår/none 12inch. making playful, percussive house music with a disco heart is one of laars passions that comes into play on this 12inch. sampling hits from his favorite records, sweeping filters, playing on his juno 60 and having his band mates come in to play percussion and synthesizers over some of his grooves you can hear how much fun theyve been having making the record. the mysterious willy nickersen has remixed the songs into deeper territories complementing the record making it able to lift dance floors across the globe.

following last years dangerously good depatterning lp, ipman returns to tectonic to deliver his latest instalment in bass-driven technoid mutations. constrict jumps straight into the deep end at 140bpm, diving head first into pulsing waves of warping, dynamic synth layers swimming back up to the surface for air. as the intro build peaks, the track effortlessly strikes when the bass drops in, charging the techno synth interplay with a sort of 3/4-step type rhythm shaping the movements. impeccable dance floor music that sits in an undefined zone between the worlds of techno, dubstep and somewhere yet defined. flip then for running man, which sees a sharp drop in tempo, bringing the speed down to 120bpm but maintaining the energetic build of constrict. starting from an almost empty space, running man takes an upward momentum, building and layering percussion and sonic textures as the heat of the chase takes full effect. dark and deadly, this is one for fans of sci-fi sonics and dread vibrations.

following his debut solo release altar ego ep on la mission in early 2016, j choirboy returns with more bombastic breakbeats and raucous rave chords for your earholes. another sharp shot of nostalgia to the heart to have you waking up spluttering in the glory days of 92. simpler times when the internet was still in black-and-white and you and seven of your mates would pile into gazs vauxhall corsa and drive to a field somewhere off the m25 for a propa wicked rave which you found out about from a party hotline on a crumpled flyer with some tenuous reference to science in the title.

nice price deal !!! luca baldini is a talented italian artist based in berlin who produce just beautiful timeless electronic house music, known in the circuit for his drama society project (along with music partner sergio ricciardone) and releases for turbo, fine and (his brand new) drama society recordings. after the first hell yeah release ever hermann der rammler luca is back with his first fullalbum called apnea to be released early 2010 on hell yeah and this is the apetizer: hooked is a fat killer groove full of synths and cut up vocals fighting eachother in depth while icecrash (available on vinyl only) is another super dope slab of electronic funk which already grabbed fans like laurent garnier, tiga, davide squillace, who are hammering this since months. this essential 12inch is completed by a superb hard to describe its a fine line rework of hooked, freaky proto tech-funk: ivan smagghe and tim paris at their inimitable best. hell yeah

hard previously unreleased dubplate cuts on side a, i roy vocal & dub on the same rhythm on the b-side! legendary channel 1 dubplate music. this version of -free black man- by earth & stone was scrapped for release in favor of the softer version that eventually appeared on their -kool roots- album, but this heavy cut achieved infamous dubplate status thru play on uk sound systems. in the case of this tune, it seems only dubwise cuts made the rounds, as we ve not heard (or heard of) a full vocal. and like many tunes not pegged for release from back in the day, mixdown masters were never kept, so only dubplates remain to haunt us. here you get two hard dubwise cuts, remastered from dubplate (punters beware!), raw as ever. on the flip side, i roy s vocal, the only released cut on this rhythm, as well as the only released dub, as appeared on the -musical dub attack.-

even brenden is back, after his unmistakable hit with fp046, media vision presents chmmr true to form. media vision is a 12 minute, slow burning syncopating killer of almost metro areasque proportions. understand and user are more direct, the first more percussive straight up to the floor the latter more piano driven and with a playful 90s pop edge, but yet again both sport evens distinct feel for warm sound and on the point grooves plus the actual unmistakable part always added always working dedicated hook lines. this is very modern very forward norwegian house music at their very best. tip! fp hq hamburg june 2016
