for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

london’s 22a follow up their sell-out tenderlonious / al dobson jr split ep with nine more exclusives from henry wu and jeen bassa. originally limited to just 100 copies, this has become a hugely sought after 12”!
henry wu applies jazz infused hip-hop sensibilities to these synth-boogie, and deep house tracks. this was wu’s debut release and set the platform for further massive releases on eglo and rhythm section. on the flip jeen bassa goes in deep with percussive house infused afro-beats laden with jazzy hip hop rhythms. haling from a family of talented musicians (mo kolours and reginald omas mamode iv) he has since gone on to similarly large releases, including last years sterling time waves ep on 22a.

made of concrete release number 11 sees a joint effort from danny kotz and avi caspi in the form of an incursion into the deep end of spacious techno. reject unfolds steadily, as spatial loops intertwine with piercing zippy synths. the laid back melodic outline is aptly layered with sombre french vocals by laurie eve jasmine de larohe which giving the track a mysterious yet groovy appeal. starting off with a subdued bassline, canopy follows a slowly ascending groove, as progressive synths and wavy hooks further the track into deep tech territory. for the b side, myles sergé swiftly jumps in on the reject remix, stripping down its embellishing elements and shifting focus towards the bassline. what ensues is a compact backdrop where the bass and percussion take the lead, resulting in an intensely danceable reinterpretation of the original. stepping away from the murky ambiance present in previous tracks, karat boosts a slightly more vivacious range of harmonics. energetic synths set a peppy, 70sreminiscing mood, while the melody keeps the cut anchored into present day electronica.

desolat label boss loco dice is back with what is sure to be a massive autumn package: he has remixed the seminal dance track ‘go’ by the legendary moby, twice, and has made it all his own in the process. moby needs little introduction: the american dance producer and live performer’s albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. they have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. his ‘go’ track was what started it all for him back in the 90’s, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. it still resonates today and always gets crowds going. now it has been remixed twice by loco dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion. his first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown. the second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. this one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night. both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight loco dice.

fuckthegovernment.ltd, a.k.a. f.t.g (alfredo trastulli) and music box head honcho, marco riff, return to the skylax fold in 2016 with a cache of house nuggets for our listening pleasure. their last venture on skylax saw f.t.g collaborate with a bunch of his friends, resulting in some of the best tracks we’d heard all year, including the unforgettable fuckthegovernment theme. their tracks have been celebrated and hailed by some of the best djs in the game, names such as derrick may, ricardo villalobos, raresh, and dj harvey. the bar set by the first record remains sky high, and somehow, these two manage to raise the bar even higher. it may be the biggest cliche going when talking about an album, but the duo certainly do take us on a journey, through the past and present of house music. it’s a record not too dissimilar in tone to paranoid london’s from a few years back, but f.t.g and marco strip things back even further than those guys did, in our opinion, the sound is more raw with less frills, and no track names to predispose feelings in the listener either. this eight track project is cohesive and elaborate, with movements through sounds both acid and jazzy, minimal and maximal. it explores sounds that came to prominence in famous house locales such as detroit and chicago over in the u.s., but the underground european influence is definitely present, from paris to berlin, and of course f.t.g and marco’s home of italy. with this album, these guys add to the underground sound that has cultivated in the city of perugia for years now, a place that has seen the likes of simoncino and nicholas hone their craft.don’t miss out on a piece of skylax history

opening track the promise is a 909-riddled voyage, moving through raw grooves and melancholic, filtered synth work. cosmic chords and a strong bassline drives the offering steadily into moody club music territory while, on the ep flip, dubbed out zora on holds a probing melody that whips against rolling pads and restrained vocals. nostalgic and effervescent, undertone closes the release beautifully, with clean keys and organic, twinkling percussion making for perfect for all day and night listening.

repress, this year we have reached our long term goal as a label which was to expand our releases into the wax department. we feel like we ve done a good job bringing upcoming and original local talent to the surface so far and it is only fitting that our first vinyl release is done by the icelandic duo david & hjalti. the duo has been busy with the production since their arrival from manchester and have played a number of great live sets underlining their skills as producers. we feel that this release is the high standard we set ourselves before going vinyl and that this is just a small first step in a fruitful beginning for the producers david & hjalti.

belgium based fabrice lig is nothing else than a phenomenon of techno music. the list of high profile imprints where he released his music, like planet e, r&s, kms, third ear and playhouse is unique. marc romboy: „i m very proud and glad that i could sign such a legendary artist to my label. i m playing all three tracks in every set and wish there would be more real techno music like this.“

invisible, inc now brings the aptly named spacerocks into the fold with the release of a 6- track ep that comes storming in from the outer reaches of a galaxy light years away (or just decades past?) into the earpiece of your unwashed spacesuit. it s hard to pinpoint what genre this actually fits into but if you imagine vapourspace s gravitational arch of 10 as interpreted by vangelis with drum programming by nitzer ebb you d be getting reasonably close. other influences may well include cluster, conrad schnitzler, chris & cosey to name a few, while comparisons can be made to contemporaries like solyst, musiccargo, barnt and secret circuit. spacerocks is a solo offshoot project from higamos hogamos main man steve webster (also fort lauderdale, the black neon, memphis industries, dc recordings). the project sees steve ditch his band and strip things down to his modular, vintage and custom-built synthesizer set up alongside equally rare and vintage analogue drum machines, sequencers and fx units.
