shakarchi & stranŽus inhabit a secret place in the universe of music, one existing at the intersection of scandinavian poplands, hisingen forest raves and outernational placelessness. faik shakarchi and daniel stranŽus famously started making beats together in the gothenburg tapas-joint coat check where they both worked as clerks. their now 10 years old friendship is the story of legends, their sparse vinyl output the secret love of deep house 12 enthusiasts round the globe the warm, vibrant sounds found on those records a stark contrast to the stripped-down effectiveness of their marathon dj sets, frequently heard within the more nefarious examples of gbg nightlife.

pastoral/tropical soundscapes and post-brutalist compositions by max loderbauer and jacek sienkiewicz from their ÒendÓ cd seem to evoke those situations where can actually hear objects, shapes and time flow itself, a sort of synaesthesia which erases and obliterates beginnings and ends of events, processes and phenomena. apocalyptic and contemplative spaces generated by this pair of seasoned sound creators explode genre bastions of ambient and idm, leading into the spectral areas once explored by such pioneers and popol vuh or ilhan mimaroglu. above all, etheric and extra-sensitive ÒendÓ marks the meeting of two incurable individualists, who use various tools of their trade to come up with a surprisingly atemporal effect, an insistent pulse of detail on an ever-morphing background. without vivid commentary and recognizable soundbites of the present, ÒendÓ is simultaneously an interesting projection of hopes and anxieties of the new age. core of tracks included on the record has been produced on the occasion of max and jacek appearing as a live duo during 2015Õs berlin atonal festival, which resulted in well received Òalpine-tatra-himalaianÓ ep Òridges-. remaining compositions are natural conclusion of their friendship, conversations, meetings, trips and recording sessions that operate according to the rule of free improvisation with a reduced instrumental setup.

stranger things ist eine neue netflix-tv-serie, die gerade in deutschland gestartet ist und international große wellen schlägt. die mystery-serie bietet jede menge referenzen an die 80er jahre, vergleiche zu steven spielberg und stephen king werden gerne gezogen. nicht weniger im fokus: der kongeniale soundtrack von kyle dixon & michael stein. von atmosphärischen stücken bis hin zu treibenden synthie-pop reicht das musikalische spektrum. hier wird gerne eine parallele zu dem score von drive gezogen, wohl einem der ikonografischsten soundtracks der letzten jahre.

the compilation, mixed by the talented moxa dj reisdent alex ferrazzi, was created from friendship, empathy, admiration and the mutual respect that binds moxa to all the dj s that have been an integral part of the club. from day one, music was at the heart of every project that the club has been involved in, with the sole support of immense passion for club culture. a considerable amount of that time has been spent trying to create a work that was the exact image of the club. simone piadena.

ralph myerz is with no doubt one of the most active music personas of the norwegian music scene. it was the year of 1997 when ralph asked for people to play percussion with him during a party in bergen, norway. the jack herren band showed up through a combination of mutual contacts and high-school friendship. supposedly a one-time-event, they had so much fun playing together that they decided to form a band, and ralph myerz & the jack herren band was formed. the band released a 7inch and a 12inch on the telle records that were followed by great reviews from magazines and dj around europe, including dimitri from paris who included the track nikita on one of his playboy mansion compilations.
