moscow label grow continues in fine creative form, seemingly not sticking to a motive or trend but rather concentrating on the strength of character within the music it releases. for the labels eighth release the artist is berlin based the marx trukker, who over the last 10 years has been developing his very distinct sound and recent output on labels like pluie/noir, the untold stories, and most recently noorden, have all been especially impressive. now on grow comes the 4 track vinyl * heavens crackling*, from the title one is expecting something awesome, and the album does not disappoint, right from the off, the first track: * a time well spent*, begins with celestial tones ringing out and the performance develops with great synth work, enlightened and very enlivening, spring is in step and something is beginning. the record continues at such a level throughout, overflowing with rich tones, warmth, and raw sounding percussion. in the second track, * all the boating still a tide to go*, deep warm bass and strings reverberate, as if amidst a hot harbours summer, then the ethereal synths return as magical breezes of cooling wind on a june day. on the bside comes the title track * heavens crackling*, the tone has cooled, there is an autumnal vibe, extended tones of an eerie but reassuring nature provide the ground, from under which a molten bass flows playfully. the final track, * i do anything but its so cold*, as the title would suggest, again time has passed, gone are the warm relaxed echoes of the the opening tracks, winter has come, and a strong percussive energy becomes the driving force of an especially deep and more introverted last track. in heavens crackling there is an uncanny understanding of time passing and representation of being, its present in the patience and performance within every track, and the effect of the album, which seems, like the seasons, to naturally come full circle, is for the listener indeed to experience a time well spent. top marks for the marx trukker!

in this e.p, phobos (fear), every artist expresses his most disturbing consciousness, giving us an awesome dose of techno without scruples or contemplations. it is a sensitive group project which is drawn directly into our subconscious. the track phobos speaks from strong foundations and dark shades that put soundtrack to water rojas hallucinations (rojas is the illustrator of this e.p.). in erratic chaos, the composer takes us amid the wrong road map of disorder. phobonica is the end of a tortured mind which transmutes its inner voices in dark melodies, snares and drums. at last, acid panic is a dark acid track built from the fear which follows a tension line made with abstract melodies.

spilt milk return with their second release from mr spilt milk himself tred benedict. tred drops a tasty original track full of groove and energy, alot like the man himself. on remix duties, label favourite marcashken turns a wonderful interpretation and the awesome mihai popoviciu takes things up a notch with a classy techno work out. the final track is another original but this time in collaboration with label partner st. bernard, with the pair dropping a rather murky minimal number with some choice words from one of their idols.

last year we released aaron ahrends first brief embrace ep, which received lots of great feedback. ada (pampa) took newborn and started to do a remix. at the same time she took some larvae as pets and watched their metamorphosis. at the end she released them as butterflies. the tune was highly recommended at here bbqs over the last summer. last year the forgotten birds (karaoke kalk) decided to stop touring as a band. their first and might be last remix at all was created spontaneously in a jam session. enough reason for to be very happy about their awesome gift.

top quality remastered reissue of oses very rare and sought after old school vocoder electro jam *computer funk*, a stone cold classic with an awesome phat analogue bassline and some of the best vocoder vocals ever recorded. originally released back in 83 on the tiny florida label bound sound and produced by the great james mccauley, this is miami electro at its finest and it is easy to see why it has become such a holy grail with djs and collectors. must have.

great new four track ep featuring some super cool disco rarities hailing from the islands of the caribbean. worth the price of this 12 inch alone is the fantastic and über-rare *naussaus discos* by mucho plus, an awesome remake of the beginning of the end classic and a floorfiller so in-demand it features in discogs top ten of most expensive records ever sold. this is followed by a great funky steel drum cover of the roy ayers classic *cant you see me* by trinidadian artist boogsie taken from his hard-to-find 1979 lp. next up is *sweetie* by manhattan charlies roots which is a barbadian disco take on bunny macs afro classic *let me love you* and then rounding things up nicely is the super hot *hands up* by casual t, a soulful disco boogie jam originally out on a mega rare jamaican 7 inch. superb!

the awesome analogue opener on this ep will have you reaching for the stars as quarion opens up on the machines and shows us a new side of his super sonic persona. the 2 soul busting, groovy tracks backing the title up are so laid back that youll be falling over after listening in.
