disco tweaker extraordinaire nicholas makes his debut on 4lux with another big set of tracks thats bound to fly off the shelves. the italian producer has been in prolific form last year, leading the latin edit charge with on the excellent no more hits imprint, and here we see a host of new tracks. all night long is an old school 90s piano house nugget that also gets the remix touch by 4lux head honcho gerd: early 90s house influenced vibes that result in guaranteed dancefloor mayhem. the flip contains the disco banger all i need and the slow paced house cut stay together. big tip!
WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED (NWAQ & JUST FOR ONE DAY REMIXES)
12 Inch 14.04.11
morphosis has been cooking. friends, nwaq & just for one day got on the re-whisk. these productions live up to all expectations from two of the most awe inspiring out there. turn them up. big tip! when this idea came about, there was some speculation here if it was a going to be plausible prospect. throughout all the deliberation one fact remained: re-workings from these artists would make the perfect precursor 12” to a full morphosis album, and it just had to happen. then it did. nwaq turns in one hell of a dub! an almost relentless 7.5 minute float, that’s underpinned with thriftily placed percussion, and a true beast of a kick drum. no build-ups. no break-downs. so, now… let’s all bow towards to the master. just for one day’s rudeboy drum palette is going to be familiar to more than a few people. let’s just say that this is the new guise of a veteran german producer who’s uncompromising music has graced some of the world’s most exciting record labels over the past 15 years. for this remix he hijacks the ‘android’s among us’ and throws them right into a sound system shootout somehow leaving the core elements from the original track in tact. seriously killer. for fans of 2 step, jungle & dr who(?). please note: this will be a vinyl only affair.
third release for the neurhythmics label. once again, juergen provides 4 tracks for this ep, all of which are on the deeper side of detroit-inspired house music. be it the shimmering chords of >last day< or the loose and skipping organs of >headache<, each track shows a different side of juergens productions. noticeably heavier than the other tracks is >post reunion< where the floodgates open, and a haunting stab rides over the crescendo of cowbell driven disco-beats, with a bassline that is difficult not to be commanded by, and an overall journey feel that just doesnt want to stop
the fifth neurhythmics release is a compilation of befriended artists, and this is reflected by the different interpretations of the individuals to what the labels sound is about. juergen provides the a-side with >common sense< a vocal-snippet driven house-track, that once again underpins his sound-aesthetics of having it sound live and mixed on the fly, straight out of the machine. the flip-side could not start off any better. quite possibly a future classic, >signature< by mike binary, has soul and emotion literally squeezed in between each of the effortlessly programmed beats, and has become one the favourite tracks at the neurhythmics hq to ever been put on the label. last but not least, >no other< by the dirty soul project (you will know these guys, but we were sworn to secrecy) firmly pulls the hand brake and slows things down to just over 110 bpm. this doesnt mean that this very hypnotic number isnt going to work in the early morning slots…au contraire, actually...

>all tied up is propelled by a proper bass line, repetitive chord vamp and otherworldly percussion, minus yogis create a tracky groove before dropping a synth and strings combination. the remix comes courtesy of juju & jordash! the juju & jordash gospel mix of >all tied up< is the soundtrack to a very disorientating sermon at the church of deep house psychedelic drama. heavy, dubbed out music for heads.

following greg wilson and al kents recent 12s, sheffields all out war returns with >dry ice< from label boss solid state, previously known for the product of society edits, and earlier releases on classic house labels like guidance, toko, cookhouse and chris duckenfileds primitive recs.
oh cristo! label comes back with memoryman/ltj, heavy one.
memoryman - aint no big edit: great percussive elements bring this track to life! short stabs of echoey synth carefully placed throughout add to the atmosphere, the track builds and builds. there is a strong house/techno feel but the slow tempo ensures it grooves, a big track! and lovely vocals with the deep bass work really well!
side b: ltj - all night: hypnotic loop carries the track, slow bass grooves and the vocal is perfect! a dancefloor gem! would be a great secret for any djs bag!

mitzi are a 4 piece of awesomeness made up of dominiqe bird, jad lee, charlie murdoch and cale suesskow. they all hail from australias most laidback and sunny city brisbane. some people call it brisvegas because its sexy too. after playing in various killer bands such as bmx (2009 unearthed parklife winners), comic sans (2010 unearthed st jeromes laneway festival winners), charlie why! (recent bang gang 12 inches signing) and the gallery kiss all the dudes have united to create some genuinely exciting australian music. the three tunes on >all i heard< fuse the sounds of garage disco, nyc indie and the light heartedness of australian pop. jono ma (lost valentinos, tracy thorn, teenagers in tokyo) mixed the record at ewan pearsons studio in berlin and made all those trumpets, snares, keys, whispers and vocals sound ridiculously tight. future classics history has always been rooted in bands and were pretty stocked to be getting back into it. plus its our 50th release!
guy gerber teams up with an all-star lineup of fantastic friends to bring the labels 25th release to the dancefloor. a collaborative work featuring the likes of dop, ryan crosson, varoslav, guti & greg paulus - time for a change, marks a pivotal time & place for the label. the family-feel of this release is a vibe that transcends more than the music on the record…its the way that the team behind the label operates day to day as well. with creative input on the label coming from all corners of the globe, its only natural that the 25th release would bring this crew together. >time for a change< the ep title & leading track of supplement facts’ 25th release takes charge with an almost marching tone
nile delta is dancefloor wizard joel dickson, former member of riot in belgium and current member of cutters dynamic-duo, voltage. having spent the past year neck-deep in other peoples music – it was only a matter of time before this, nile deltas debut ep emerged, shimmering, from the water. channel sounds like a late 70s house party. except the house is actually a warehouse and the late 70s are actually the early 90s. an almost paradoxical blend of filtered piano stabs, party whistles, endless delays, a squelching acid lead, horns, bendy-breakdowns, you name it. channel sounds like moodymann at his rawkus best. no party will be complete without this house gem. all this on the flip, sees cut copy bassist ben browning provide an otherworldly vocal hook over nile deltas inescapable rhythm. and the crawling baseline will have your hips doing obscene things. guaranteed. remixes include longtime favourites chicken lips, who take their invincible track record on an italian holiday – and tornado wallace who takes us deep, deep into the night.
with the >debut remix album< alfred heinrichs scored on subdub in all charts through the ceiling. now he puts on mimique the >all about me e.p.< after 2 great songs in the distinctive style of heinrich. as known from alfred, fits his sound is not in a drawer. the galloping bass, the hot breaks and vocal snippets push the two songs at the heart of heinrichs night. rounding out the e.p. is the philip bader remix of >all about me<. this comes with a brash, cocky driving house beat around the corner.
