hilltown disco are back with another attention-grabbing release. the a-side sees the return of the duo who can do-no-wrong, crossmods with an electro-masterclass that takes you on an out-of-this-world journey, followed by a clean-cut, snappy remix of the crossmods track by the belgium act, datawave. flip-over the record and we have acid-genius chris moss acid contributing a re-mastered version of his beautifully-chaotic acidic-banger, the mossquito. continuing the acid theme, dundee producer ansata gives us a real 303 work-out that is guaranteed to fill any dance floor. last but not least, crossover network join the hilltown disco family with a high energy, banger with an iconic old-school electro vocal though out to complete the release.

amish boy aka sküge (not to be confused with skudge) is hugues croibien, a thirty seven year old belgian who has experimented with electronic music since his teens. with a diet of seal phüric, the prodigy, autechre and unit moebius stoking his primordial fire, croibien began to align with the rage that exists in the breakcore genre. already an addict of reggae and dub at this time, croibien decided to create some cut-up raggacore with his brand new ableton live 3 software. meanwhile with friends, croibien created break n brol, a non-lucrative association which tried to promote alternative electronic music in liège where he lived. they premiered some bassline stars kanji kinetic and -squire of gothos- on the belgian scene, alongside other alternative electronic composers and musicians like subjex, ebola, mustard gunn and herrmutt lobby. the fellowship decided to create a free net label to release compilations with the bnb party artists. the rough style techno resurgence over the last few years has precipitated a metamorphosis, sküge became amish boy more glitchy than techno, more offbeat than acid and more ambivalent than industrial. although heavily invested for two decades now, laika test project on power vacuum will be croibiens first vinyl release, with a follow-up already in the pipeline.

new glasgow electro and techno label tremors presents our first vinyl release - aftershocks volume 1, a collection of remixes of tracks from our bandcamp releases. the a1 comes from electro legend dexter, a man who needs no introduction, remixing old boy s tracer. next up is james shinra (analogical force) one of our favourite contemporary electro artists, remixing arctor memory gene. on the b-side we have patrick walker (forward strategy group) remixing arctor s selfish lover into a slamming acid techno banger. rounding it off is relatively unknown hungarian producer david harleydson who has been self-releasing highly impressive electro albums through bandcamp. he has applied his own unique style in a remix of arctor the gulf.

tribal pulse is 5 years old, and we re celebrating with a special series of vinyl and compilation releases, and parties in some really insane locations, including a unique birthday celebration in the beautiful highlands of scotland. first up we have boom merchant s i see the future available on 180g vinyl and containing contributions from italian slammin techno kingpin johnny kaos and maltese 303 sniper acidulant. the title track is a morphing, energetic futurist techno cut. a powerful, bass-driven groove works alongside complex analogue percussion sequencing and growling distortion before detroit-style chords and atmospherics move in to take you higher, before slamming you back into the dark groove once again. this one is a real bomb waiting to go off. for sub mission boom merchant combines forces once again with johnny kaos, and in keeping with the theme of the ep, the results are dark, distorted and full of flavor. the track roars through lashings of sub and relentless machine bleeps, drums and noises, jumping in and out of breakbeats with a monster reese bass chasing you down from start to finish. to round off the ep, acidulant does what he does best, stripping the original back to its bare elements, looping the vocal and creating a roland-heavy roller full of squelchy goodness. we see the future, and we are bringing it to you on wax. we hope these tracks put a smile on your face.

masked, mythical, and bass! few words are needed when superlative entities collide. dengue dengue dengue are the peruvian duo known for raising a tropical storm. their electronic psychedelia and bass flows from their roots in lima, peru upstream to global dancefloors. the duo are constant in their evolution, exploring rhythms and sounds native to peru and from the world over. their focus is in recreating them in electronic form, mixing the old with the new

long time scene stalwart darren price is stepping out on brand new label, kilsha music, with a fantastic ep of monster house tracks arriving. opener charm offensive is a fantastic ten-minute trip into loose limbed techno. drums, bass and percussion all wrap and weave around each other and melt your mind in the process. a rasping lead synth eventually becomes the focal point as background chords bring real soul. the brilliantly bristling everybody jack (uw live maschine mix) is a full fat track with busy textured synths, sci-fi effects and old school jack vocals that will really work the dance floor into a lather. its dynamic and ever evolving, with plenty of tense peaks and troughs throughout to keep the floor on its toes. the final vinyl track is this is house music, a deeper cut with warm, warbling bass and a muted acid line spraying about the mix. it slowly builds the pressure in heady fashion and is one to really hypnotise.

attempting to pigeonhole 79.5 into something as narrow as a single genre would be an ill advised, if not impossible task. the new york city band sounds like someone spinning a radio dial with such passionate intensity that all the stations blend together into a single, transcendent, almost spiritual force. its disco to the beat of modern house, its a supremes cover of a cardi b banger, its roland kirk playing jazz through one saxophone, funk through another, and the most earwormy pop tune the 1970s could muster through a third. its an experience one so effecting that with only a self-released 12inch single in circulation, 79.5 had been written up twice in the new yorker on the merit of their live sets alone. their debut album predictions is produced by leon michels and was recorded at the diamond mine in queens the old school way, with the whole band playing the songs in one take and captured to analog tape.

2018 reissue of an unknown masterpiece regrouping old recordings from the chelmsford (uk) based chen yi commune. the sound of chen yi is rough & brutal. electronic music, soundcollages that reminds to throbbing gristle or (early)spk aswell as electro-pop-tracks & songs like early cabaret voltaire, chris & cosey, severed heads.

m/n is a wide range of colorful electronic music taking their influences from uk 90s ambient/electronica period. in shadows of labels like gpr, new electronica (italia), irdial discs. find old and less known artists like derek carr, carl finlow, simon crab. united in a 2x12inch compilation ltd to 200 copies.

the sixth yarn release tohuwabohu is like a big meeting of old friends: the leipzig/berlin based duo echoton is rejoining yarn with a splashy welcome and two dope tracks called kladderadatsch and kuddelmuddel � two glommy playful fellows. the guys from roar added an epic 15 minute kladderadatsch remix on b-side with nice guitar riff accents. ending all up in three amazing tracks with this typical minimalistic impulsive yarn sound. yarn records sixth release comes hand stamped in a recycled paper bag. strictly limited to 300 copies.

skinny pelembe corrals together a cast of talented friends for his new ep. it�s his most ambitious release to date, boasting a different group or artist featuring on each of its tracks, each of them an act he�s met through music or through linking with brownswood�s celebrated talent development programme future bubblers two years ago. across its four entries, he bridges hip-hop, psych-rock and jazz-influenced tangents, cutting out a diverse cross-section of the city�s music scene. it�s a document of the connections he�s made as an artist, and is the most collaborative project he�s worked on so far. the title of the ep comes from some advice which skinny noted to himself on an old notebook. each of its songs started as a rough idea which was then fleshed out and re-imagined with his collaborators.

8factor is a german music project from leipzig - he is producing electronic music for 8 years without making official releases. tommy tricker was a former alias which was used for lo-fi boombap instrumentals. one of his most famous instrumantals is called �kommunistische tummulte� which was released on red tape. he is also a big fan of propellerheads software �reason�. most of his tracks contains self-programmed malstrom-synth-textures or processed samples.

yasha is 28 year old joe gillick, who grew up immersed in the sounds of ukg & grime on the streets of south london. he founded orphan. in 2015 with his friends sage redman and billy meddleton. the three began throwing bi-monthly parties in deptford, their aim was to feature the unsung heroes, the seminal artists that weren�t often regulars in the crowded london club circuit. cutting his chops djing alongside the likes of tim goldsworthy (dfa, mo� wax, unkle), dave okumu (the invisible, jessie ware), the golden filter (optimo), mica levi (micachu) and more, joe fed his keen sensibility for club grooves. cut to 2018 and joe finds himself a seattleite.

catch recordings return with their 13th release, this time from dj najaora. hes an emerging talent from the ever growing techno region in georgia who s mature, fully formed sound is showcased here across three innovative left-field techno & electro tracks. the excellent night dreamers takes the a1 spot. its an analogue electro cut throughout. with forceful broken drums accompanied by electric lead lines that provide a powerful energy for the dance floor. space call is a more cerebral and less dance floor affair that has you day dreaming amongst the meandering pads and classic detroit electro vibes. a soft acid line runs throughout, while the whole cuts creates nostalgia of old warp records last of all simulaq which takes the b-side has wide and vast rubber kicks alongside booming bass. making this side a merge of bass and electro. trippy stabs and dark energy pervades the whole thing, making it track for the late hours. while 13 is an unlucky number for some, this certainly doesn t seem to be the case for catch recordings.

after relocating from california at 7 years old, nasser grew up in a musical environment in new jersey. surrounded by gifted artists from an early age, nasser was fed a diet of authentic 70 s soul, 80 s pop and 90 s hip hop and r&b, which all influenced the spirit of his music and his trademark big production. at only 24 years old nasser displays real musical maturity and a subterranean fearlessness in his productions. mentored by house music master dennis ferrer, nasser has released three ep s and on the indispensible objektivity label, as well as remixing dennis iconic son of raw in 2017. his gramercy ep on suara revealed nasser s more techier side, exposing his wider abilities. his most recent release on objektivity, the just like that ep , dropped in summer 2017, in tune with his first ibiza season. (as a part of dennis ferrer s misfits society crew, a residency he continues in 2018�) here nasser debuts on circus recordings with his first full, self penned, and part sung, vocal single, combined with a intergalactic techno b side that is absolutely not to be skipped over. say something was instantly snapped up by yousef after an early demo was sent to the label owner earlier this year. big, nasty & pin sharp drums carry the original vocal throughout the track, as a playful narrative parties & dances throughout. vocal hook after vocal hook interchange as the slamming 909 drums persist. as yousef said, there is simply nothing else quite like it right now, and as pete tong said it s the best vocal record he has heard in many years, confirmed an essential new tune on the spot� this years bigger than prince..?

so here it is vol 6, with 6 trax, yes 6 trax, hows that for value for money. track 1 , kicks off the e.p with a monkey infused acid rolla from the he-men ,aptly named rolla, really deep acid rolling track for you head nodders out there , then track 2 comes courtesy of new family member bufo bufo, who already boasts releases on ritual poison and egd, his track is a real four/four breakbeat extravaganza, moves along lovely with breaks and bleeps, very excited about this track and a very please to have him in the tdo family. djpc returns with track 3, his track called danger man, and believe this is dangerous, proper old school sounding warehouse rave with wicked pianos and baselines .good to have him back. then flip over and boom side b, hits ya with dawl track party till the a.m , great advice and a great track from dawl, back to his proper full on rave breaks and bleeps to kick off side b the way only he can. then track 2 we welcome another new member to the tdo family, although he has mastered several e.p s and digi trax for us , this is the first track craig bratley has ever made for us, over the moon to have this man on board - craig has earned a solid reputation from a series of curiously erratic releases, releasing records across the spectrum of electronic music on labels such as futureboogie, suara, throne of blood, bird scarer, tsuba, instruments of rapture, claremont 56, leng, to rack and ruin and is it balearic and as well as his own magic feet imprint. the recent discovery of a box of old dat tapes in a house move has allowed craig to revisit some of his earlier attempts at making music in the 90 s. the re-sampling and editing one of these tracks has provided the basis for craig s contribution to tone dropout volume 6, back from the dat . from the dat really is a hats off tip to the rave generation, thank you craig proper got this right for our label. then finally track 6 , is bonus track , tones breaks part 2, a full on pow in ya face rave banger, a little feature we will be doing now on e.p s a nod to the legendary bones breaks of cours

jonny rock a familiar face on the london house and disco scenes is recognized by many for working behind the counter at phonica records & blackmarket records during the 00s and as the dude for playing the guitar in freaks project. rock skillfully joins the dots between the old school house, underground disco and boogie vibes in a party setting.

�neverending story� opens with �a dimension reflected� and its introductory mixture of keys and beats. the beat is built upon piece by piece, while slippery synths fill in the upper registers. the second track, �planet texture�, opens with a blossoming pad which is soon joined by a steady kick and some bouncing synths. before long an adventurous bassline joins in and puts the track into full groove mode. there�s a twinkling synth floating above it all, sometimes present, sometimes not, making you wonder if you�re really hearing it at all. next up is the first track on the b-side, �old problems�. filled with little samples and microsounds, the track uses its beat to push through heady and sometimes disorientating array of colours that swirl across the track. a wide synth enters affairs a third of the way in and helps push the track out onto the dancefloor. �neverending story� comes next, featuring a skittering beat and atmospherics that seem to come from far away. a low bassline pops in and out of the track here and there, while pondersome some keys complete the mood. the ep closes with �algorithm�, another scrambled, unpredictable track. the track opens with a rainbow of keys and synths, darting between your ears in their affected manner. an almost glitchy ambient track, it brings to a calm close a fantastic release.

channeling that classic playful braindance feel of early afx, u-ziq and fellow acid-connoissuer luke vibert, pearl river sound (real name roberto semeraro) has quietly builded up his own profile in the last 5 years with releases on r&s recordss own meda fury, further records, seagrave and x-kalay. not another average idm/breakbeat throwback tough: here prs delivers train with no name, a 6-tracker of razor-like rephlexian science, taking inspiration from his ambivalent work with laptop & old hardware machines, yet, the magic lays down in arrangements and spaces, builded around jacking bassline swings and detuned, lush pads all melted together in powerful u-turn rhythms and genius sampling, from the moody opener elek41 to the demented vocals of cccc2 and mr continue or the straight-up acid of mono sequencer bass. occasional walls of white noise and distorted tones emerge in train 2, possibly his most tense track ever but also one that reveals new sonic solutions for a forthcoming full length that should see the light anytime next year on the label. sharing the same sensibility of fellow roman institutions like lory d or leo anibaldi to keep the acid legacy of the city alive, mixed up is proud to start a new beginning with this release. full sleeved and cut at 45.

the man, the myth, the legend, back in the 80s jesse rae, along with roger troutman and bernie worrell, was part of the p-funk movement that was hugely influential to detroit�s early electronic experiments. lesser known is that the enigmatic scot-funk warrior later produced underground electronic tracks in the 90s. the inaugural release on glasgow label southside shufflers presents two of jesses shufflers on vinyl for the first time on the global 95 ep- a sampler from his pioneering 1995 album compression. ever the innovator, jesse recorded the album collaboratively using live isdn technology spanning three continents, with the resultant tracks fusing african, us electro-funk and old scots influences. 23 years later, jesse�s under the radar shufflers sound more relevant than ever. southside shufflers are a record label and sports collective based in glasgow with outposts in london and amsterdam. sss aint no half steppin!
