the rawest, diy gospel ever resurrected. the west side of chicago was just an annex of the deep rural south for gene autry cash and his flock of recent old dominion transplants looking to cut their fiery, unadorned sounds indelibly to plastic. his jade label absorbed those god-fearing artists: family bands with wailing kids and barely amateur groups sourced from local parishes, infused with reverberations of country and western and deep soul. glinting authenticity shines from every track like a diamond in the unpolished rough—each group completely convinced that salvation comes through song.

after the success of the first release rooted series is back with new 4 track v/a from really well known and talented artists. deep/minimal/organic/house sounds for different times in every set.

title track joyride kicks things off with a straight up 909 beat, complete with scifi sweeps and classic wood block percussion, quickly working its way into an very subtle groove with every element working effectively to keep it fully funk laden. sideways completes the a side of the release and gets going right from the beginning. pumping percussion takes hold and hits the ground running before a perfectly weighted synth hook lashes over the top with henning playing with the synths lfo to creative effect. dust takes things down a notch as swirling pads drape themselves over a serious 909 beat. henning lets this one loop out, letting the subtle variations in the synths do the work as the 909 holds the beat solid and reminiscent of early berlin/detroit dub techno crossovers. mars attacks closes of the ep and does so in particularly fine fashion. a more broken beat affair this time from henning and he really works his machines into a sonic warfare of bass tones and tweaked out synths that sear through the crashing percussion workout.

long arm follows up *the branches* from 2012! every new experience lets him grow as a person and also expands his knowledge of the world that surrounds him. his young mind is sometimes blurrying the lines between imagination and reality, dreaming and being awake, reality and fantasy. making sense of this world in its very own unique way, his world is filled with fantastic and surreal magical creatures and quirky characters.

the swedish label dirty hands strikes back with double force. this motor driven techno 12 is hard to hide from. labelboss per hammar says when patrick gave me this track, i played it in every set for the 3 months. when he later told me that he hasnt found a home for it, we said in choir ‘lets do a dirty hands release out of it!. and after that moment, all my previous plans for the label was deleted. with patricks ruthless original combined with per hammars jungle sounding edit on the flip, this release isnt anything but a key into the producer duos minds.

the kestrel (turmfalke) will rise in spring 2015, starting the new label by matthias springer with focus on physical media. the philosophy behind is to invite friends to this special cross-over concept. every artist presents an original in combination with remixing eachother. in the end 4 tracks on one release, no special genre is preset, everything can happen. frank hellmond is the special guest on the first turmfalke release, bringing in his unique deephouse flavour that features some pretty nice vocals from snowflake, while matthias is turning it into a combination of dub and acid ... but just have a listen.

fantastic remastered reissue of a masterpiece of the golden era of nyc deep house, the incredible love is a mystery ep by tropical moon (aka legendary producers nelson paradise roman & blue jean), their one and only release under that moniker. originally released back in 1990 every track here is a killer - the a side features the underground smash love is a mystery with its beautiful emotive pianos, classic lush strings and gorgeous vocal followed by the relentless drum groove of its alright. on the flip we get another club classic, the tribal bouncer jungle house as well as the darker after-party vibe of data bank with its phat b-line, deep chords and superb sleazy vocal. pure class!

inner shift music presents jacksonville aka chris lyth who was featured on their collective continents ep with the city sleeps. jacksonville has had releases on several labels including atmospheric existence, thug records, and on his own rather excellent imprint doppler records.

the 7th release on bond is the second release in petter bs series called *roots*. the label bond is the brainchild of swedish techno dj and producer petter b. the concept of the label is music by djs for djs. the label focuses on releasing tracks that enable the dj, rather than the producer, to be creative. it is based on that special bond which is created every time a dj combines tracks, loops and sounds live into something new and unique.

ot one for elaborate biographies or fancy press packs, twentysomething year old italian producer thomas a.s. simply prefers to let his music speak for him. and when you are constantly releasing tracks like the ones that make up his upcoming north lake ep, a string of fancy words are the last thing you need.

the detroit music community has outposts in nearly every major city, and vancouver, british columbia is no exception. this ep represents the connection of two such artists, detroit native, josh garrett, who currently resides in vancouver and runs the subspec label, and rennie foster, a stalwart of the underground, who has spent a quarter of his life in tokyo, but born in bc and now living back there, in vancouver. rennie has released on a myriad of detroit labels, such as transmat, teknotika, soiree, subject detroit, wallshaker, and motech. josh and rennie met in vancouver, only since rennies recent return, and realizing they were of the same tribe, immediately began to collaborate on a number of projects, now including this limited run, double a-side, record, chalk full of dj friendly techno trax, firmly rooted in the motor city sound, yet unique enough to be a contributor, not just another imitator.
