home invasion is the new label from real tone man franck roger, a man whose career has scaled the full depths of house music over the past decade or so. evidently seeking a new challenge, the parisian s new imprint promises to adhere to a vehemently underground way of working, with every ep upfront released on vinyl-only terms and produced exclusively on analogue equipment. ogers re-tracing of his roots pays dividends too, and whats most striking about the labels debut outing, the simply-titled home invasion 02 ep, is how very different it sounds to vintage real tone planes. gone are the whimsical, celestial deep house hues so favoured by the latter, and in there place is a series of cuts that expertly toe the line between house and techno without resorting to generic soundscapes

starting off 2014 with an italian/manchester collaboration - the 3rd release on el diablos social club sees dj rocca (ajello, erodiscotheque, crimea x) & chris massey (electric elephant, paper recordings) join forces to bring us a selection of spaced out, chuggy goodness with just a bit of a nod to certain croatian festivals. drug chug kicks things off with a plodding 4/4 infused with cosmicesque swooshes & whooshes along with a bassline to rattle the funktion ones. whilst synths reminiscent of the time & space machine add that much needed touch of psych to proceedings. shone takes the party to late night in the club where spiky 909 percussion meets chunky analog basslines before dropping in with distorted & reverb drenched piano chords that guarantee to leave a lasting impression on both the head & heart! remix duties come in heavy on this release with craig bratley dusting drug chug with his own style of studio fairy dust to knock it up a notch that will surely please those who have followed his sounds on andrew weatheralls bird scarer imprint, robsoul, foto, is it balearic, instruments of rapture and his own magic feet label. lastly edscs very own head honcho neil diablo tackles shone and lays off the epic-ness and brings a straight up basement chugger. this release has grit & oomph balanced with a good helping of sunshine infused warmth that will ensure its place in the boxes of both house heads & balearic boys all over!

roots for bloom bring in four new faces for the seventh release. we see label boss jamie trench deliver an edit and remix of daniel curpen - daddy was a thug, and david moran teams up with albert vogt for their track cut loose and then collabs with mark crumbs for tha bassment. the a side sees jamie bring a rolling dub edit to daniels original and then takes things a little darker for the a2 remix. david morans cut loose shows off the vocal talents of albert vogt which grooves along seductively, then tha bassment as expected brings things a little harder and more for those after hour spots.
