the album is a soundtrack of music inspired by the movie rubble kings and is out globally via mass appeal records. produced by longtime run the jewels collaborator little shalimar, the album features appearances from bun b, ghostface killah, killer mike, tunde adebimpe, mr muthaf*kin exquire, boldy james, cuz lightyear, ka and roxiny, in addition to run the jewels. scoring the film was the first time little shalimar set out to make period music. half of the music on this album was taken directly from the score and is heavily indebted to ‘60s and ‘70s soul and funk music. for the new tunes shalimar sampled joints from the score and created new beats out of them.
the grey marbled double lp version comes in a gatefold sleeve and includes an iron-on patch of the rubble kings plus a download code for the rubble kings album and documentary.

amin peck is an electronic studio project, contaminated by the new wave from u.k. like most ’80s electronic bands. amin-peck walked a fine line between disco and minimal wave throughout the course of the early 1980s, oftentimes incorporating shameless pop melodies and avant-garde leanings. amin peck were an italian band leaded by giorgio fioroni (aka george fyron, arrangements, production, vocals) with leonard parker (arrangments, keyboards) and max marne (production). incredible but true, amin peck started as hard rock guitar band in the 70s... and becoming one of the best examples of italo disco. this limited edition it contains full-length versions plus uncut audio material (a2) tracked down during tape restoration. (the first pressing coming from 1982 was pressed only on 7inch in u.k.)

as we await the release of the debut lp columbusing from thatmanmonkz we’re pleased to give you a little taster of two of the originals plus a couple of brilliant remixes from man of the moment ge-ology and jimpster. thatmanmonkz has seen a definite rise in interest the last few years following essential releases on his own shadeleaf label as well as remixes and productions for the likes of classic, kolour ltd and kon’s startime.

this is the second record of the modern house quintet, a french band who makes house music. like the former release, this new one features two house/deep house tracks: * marmande* starts with a lush pad and staccato bassline soon joined by percussions and an organ chord. the second part of the track introduces gradually a flute line plus a powerful open hi-hat. * bellevue* opens with a pad and a filtered rhodes synth supported by a low-fi bassline. that structure evolves step by step until the break introduces strong open hit-hats followed by another flute line.

back in soviet times when the official local music market was controlled by the biggest record monopoly in history melodiya, many local musicians who wanted to express themselves in actual form, released tapes themselves and spread it through a big underground market network called magnitizdat (short of magnetic tape release). it began in the 60s with soviet rock movement and illegal copies of foreign music which got through border with tourists, seamen and diplomats. in the late 80s you could find there many different shades of music from underground protest rock, post punk, avant-garde to a lot of electronic pop, local kind of italo disco and dj s mixtapes with a personal rap on top of it. plus seven records begins a sublable series of remastered edits which narrate about dance part of this story.

herva is the artist name of hervè atsè corti. he lives in relative seclusion from the dance music world in the italian countryside around florence and is one of the most intriguing producers to work in house and techno for a while. his early musical life as a drummer, plus his extra-musical interests in engineering and electronics has informed a unique, freeform, and very tactile approach to dance music. its house and techno that doesnt adhere to the usual influences of detroit, chicago or berlin.
