after four years and 20 releases from la vie en rose, terence :terry: delivers his second solo ep on his own label. the paris maestro, who is currently based in madrid, has been hard at work in the studio to produce this brand new three-tracker entitled ‘coney island’ and all three tracks work as a perfect representation of his deep, sultry and hypnotic sound.
la vie en rose commences its 2016 campaign with a tight little package from the delirious ibiza dwelling duo, acid mondays. the british lads are well known for their ability to concoct deadly dance floor weaponary for labels such as rumors, illusion, one records and 2020vision among others and now they are back on the french label with two hot new tracks plus a remix from greek grafter john dimas.
allez! here we go with the next release from terence :terry:’s highly-respected la vie en rose label. so far this year lvr has brought the heat with terence’s solo ep ‘acid heroes’ and the superb mix compilation ‘house couture’, which has received widespread praise. now, we have this brand new ep from a true paris legend, and an inspiration to terence himself – the one and only, jerome pacman. rising up in the early 90s, jerome established himself through the paris underground, and has remained one of the city’s finest selectors and producers. this four-track ep includes a remix from romanian godfathers livio & roby and represents jerome’s ability to throw down fresh, classic house rhythms with a modern twist. kicking off with ‘merry-go-round’, a bass-heavy rumbler imbued with subtle house tropes, we move into ‘jp sunlight’, a bubbling groover with twinkly, dream-like effects and a bassline that will lock in from the get go. on the flip we have ‘mpa’, a simple yet effective roller that will grip you with its repetitive groove and delicate use of detail in the background. livio & roby step up for the remix of ‘mpa’, which focuses on a more unusual, organic sound ethic – typical of the romanian sound that is so widely loved. a rework that is delivered with panache,
greek native john dimas is fast becoming highly respected in the house game and his living lies ep on la vie en rose, an excellent cross-section of the different styles and vibes of house music, should help to further cement that reputation.
terence: terry’s record label la vie en rose gets set to re-release the huge hit >key of love< for the third release on the label, also featuring a rework from u s h and a remix from hold youth aka seuil and le loup.>key of love< was released for the first time back in 2002 on the label d-note by sleaze, which was made up of u s h and greg. it graced the dance floors of all the best underground clubs from ibiza (dc10) to paris (zebra) and it also featured on >kwality<, the ralph lawson and dan ghenacia compilation, gaining further popularity. limited copies were pressed so it quickly became a favourite for the vinyl collector.
