having finally woken from our deep winter slumber, team fancy human shuffle in through the door of 2016, in need of a shave and a coffee, clutching the newly minted test pressing of the first full release from london duo and co-founders lucatwana. the normally work shy combo deliver to you fh003, or under it s more catchier moniker, city droids. if they d have got it done quicker, we might have been able to cash in on the stars wars related hype, but never mind. anywho, city droids takes the form of three originals, beginning with the uplifting funk of city fucking, moving through the tougher and darker grind of droids on roids and ending with a nod to detroit with nobody knows. pleasingly, we also have a fancy human favourite tigerskin on remix duties, with a smooth, driving, hypno re-imaging of droids on roids that hits the nail firmly on the head.

angelo spencers third album is his most danceable work so far! written and recorded in chambery, france, in the heart of the alps (where he grew up) over the course of a week in february 2014. with the help of old friends and amazing musicians luc detraz (imperial tiger orchestra) and karol skonitcki (super fedor), love in the morning is a short, precise, and undeniably groovy love affair! with repurposed autotune and raw, uncompressed sound recorded by djan (the man behind the larsen records sound), the album is minimal yet so full.

our label residents tigerskin and till von sein are back with their annual attack on your dance floor. as you know from their previous releases we can expect raw and uncompromised house music here.

anchored between the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s, when industrial music courted funk, when electro(nica) made a shy appearance and house was visceral and plaintive, also inspired by current r&b productions and futuristic hip-hop, tropics of love is a slow tempo record that shines like a steel sun and rings diabolically romantic.

bristol hub soul motive scored a massive coup in enlisting punch drunk boss peverelist to remix >stableface<, one of the standout tracks from clouds of moments, the 2010 debut set from lithuanian experimental dubstepper eleven tigers. that they choose to complement it with two further remixes is tantamount to treating us, with both dark sky and macc on board to further re-contextualise the cracked atmospherics. in the hands of dark sky, >stableface< is twisted into a brooding dark side steppah with subtle hints of jungle pressure pervading the lower reaches, the 50 weapons trio playfully teasing with the vocal before dropping in a bassline that can only be described as rude. on the flip, macc showcases his enviable drumming skills with a heavily cinematic roller of a remix dominated by those rumbling, live rhythms

elevation recordings was born in 2001 in a little city called galway, in the west of ireland - fathered by darran nugent aka aruba. over the last ten years the label has featured both homegrown and international talent with names like tigerskin, wareika, scope, kink, chris lattner, soul minority, gavin herlihy and snuff crew dropping by to make remixes. 2010 saw the vinyl side resurrected in the form of elevation limited and so far it has drafted in the talents of aldo cadiz, jakob seidensticker, tomika, einmusik, feygin and more. this 10 year album showcases the flavour of where the label is now with a hot selction of tracks from germanys snuff crew, aldo cadiz (chile), julian sanza (2020 vision) - who drops a dirty disco mutant monster called >elevation<, livio and roby (desolat), alejandro vivanco (cadenza), darran nugent and pavel lenchenko (mood music) and more. enjoy the party. coverart by: emiliocaccaman (ita)
