he s bbeen a player of many years with groups such as ub40 aswad dub band ruff cutt just to name a few. he and his brother formed the band matic 16 to which the horn section is called matic horns. as a horn section they played on many reggae recordings for producers from the uk ja usa and europe. he has in resent times produced instrumentals for his own label hfp (homefront productions) that has been released 1.lucrative and 2 aba-ariginals as well as producing dub plates to the big sound systems such as aba-shanti-l channel one jah shaka and sound systems in europe. he has now taken to dub step with one of its biggest producers coki in bringing the horn to the electric digital sound with great success, new to the scene and new to both artists. this is an extension of bringing the sound of trixx to the club scene.

clark verschnźrt auf death peak die verschiedenen strŠnge seines bisherigen outputs, wenn er die euphorischen melodien und rhythmen der warehouse-raves mit neuen gesangs und chor-arrangements verknźpft.ndeath peak- legt somit das spannungsfeld offen, auf dem clarks musikalisches vokabular basiert: -ich liebe es einfach, diesen wendepunkt zu finden zwischen zwei gegensŠtzen die stelle, an der es kippt. meine tracks sollen scharfe zŠhne haben, aber man soll sie trotzdem auch noch streicheln wollen. sie klingen klassisch, uralt, aber scheinen aus der zukunft hierher gebeamt zu sein, sanft und doch zerstšrerisch.

manchmal ist eine rückbesinnung hilfreich um sich neu zu orientieren. im falle von booka shade ist ihnen dadurch vielleicht ihr stärkstes album ihrer gesammten karriere geglückt. wir sind sehr stolz auf all das, was wir mit unserer elektronischen clubmusik erreicht haben. mit movements 10 haben wir dann im letzten jahr dieses kapitel abgeschlossen. 2017 bedeutet für uns eine musikalische veränderung.(walter booka shade) ich mag die vermischung aller unserer einflüsse wirklich sehr 80er synth-pop, 90er manchester sound, bis hin zu aktuellen klängen von the weeknd und ähnlichen acts ist alles dabei und verbindet sich zu einem modernen und einnehmenden ganzen. *the shakes* is matthew herberts first album under the name herbert since 2006s dark orchestral disco fantasy *scale* (k7!). the album deals with intensely personal issues such as raising young children against a backdrop of an increasingly unstable world and, amongst other things, utilizes the sound of used bullets and shells from ebay as part of its soundscape. herbert himself suggests that the record can be seen as a treatise on how *music helps to motivate, provide respite and divert us from the challenges of the everyday* and that it is *electronic music for the soul*.

gravitas, talib kwelis sixth solo album, began to take shape in may, during the weeks following the release of kwelis fifth solo album, prisoner of conscious. loaded with guests, prisoner of conscious was well received and reviewed, and gained talib many new fans to add to his already large following. however, kweli soon found himself wanting to record more personal material and really document his journey thru music. when singer ryan leslie, who created the platform that kweli is using to sell gravitas, approached him with the idea of selling direct to fan, songs that were just rough ideas began to fully form in kwelis head.
