FOOT IN THE DOOR AWAKE O ZION ALEX ATTIAS & STEPHANE ATTIAS EDIT
12" Vinyl D12.03.18
lillygood party! is a label focused on licencing tracks that alex and stephane play for years at their parties. the aim is to re-edit and revisit those jams from soul to house , jazz to afro, boogie to techno and make us and people enjoy and smile on the dancefloor because those tunes are really really good both tracks here are classics dancefloors tunes, nothing rare, just favourite tunes that alex and stéphane play in their sets. on the a side the onwards international version is longer than the original and the arrangement quiet different for more intense dancefloor action. here they both worked on the edit to find the right balance and the right sound in order to revisit the uk classic jazz funk number, a firm favourite here lillygood! the b side is an amazing disco modern soul gospel track from elbernita twinkie clark already reissued some time ago but the cherry on the cake is that you have here a 12inch version extended and a new mastering for extra loud play this version is slightly different than the original, alex extended parts: the beginning with drum intro looped for mixing and changed the end to make it longer keeping the original flavour. please enjoy as much as we do because we love those edits, we love those tunes, we love music we are very happy to share with you these limited vinyls releases
i choose you 3 winans brothers feat. karen clark sheard remixed by louie vega is the very reason house music is known around the world as a spiritual thing! house and gospel have shared a dance floor from the very start thanks to pioneers like louie vega who harness the joy and inspiration of gospel with the motivational energy of house. never was this more evident than in the 1st project louie vega and 3 winans brothers featuring the clark sisters came together for in 2015, dance which was a world renowned sensation and the catalyst for i choose you .
clark krönt eine weiteres erfolgreiches jahr mit den beiden neuen rave-monstern honey badger und pig, die die rohe dancefloor energie demonstrieren, die clark in den bisherigen 20 jahren seiner warp-karriere so eigen war (und immer noch ist). clark über diese 12inch. these two tracks are my favourite part of the death peak live show. developing them and releasing this 12inch felt essential.
matter of the heart! district 66s co-owner clark davis established with the labels 3rd ep a symbiosis of the past, present and future. the a1 and b1 reduced and functional original tracks are remixed by two of davis respected producers. in the late 90ies, alexander kowalski was one of the key artist which influenced him and still remains with his very own signature sound. nowadays state-of-the-art markus suckut reflects with his minimalism and on the point grooves the artistic present and future of davis definition of techno.
2ND NATURE (INCL. JAY CLARK, SETH TROXLER & BAS IBELLINI REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK20.07.17
sometimes amongst all the music that we hear every day, something comes along so unique and brilliant that its captivates your mind and soul and refuses to let go. that was exactly what happened when we first heard dokta - the ex-studio engineer with the freshest take on electronic music we have heard for a long time. fusing a fully analog working method & live instrumentation with a breathtakingly unique arrangement style, dokta combines all his experience working with some of the best in the business and transcends it into one hypnotic stream of genre defying mastery. for his first ep on 20/20 we are fortunate enough to have remixes from fabric resident jay clarke, and a collaborative contribution from seth troxler and bas ibellini. it is a major milestone for 20/20 to finally have a seth troxler production on the label. he has been a great inspiration for us and hugely supportive of our output over the years. seth went into the studio with good friend bas and came out with a remix worthy of dokta s long abstract arrangements. we hope you enjoy, and with an album in the pipeline for later this year we promise there is a lot more to come
vinyl only / limited to 300 copies! another round for oye edits. oye s delfonic met kent clark a couple of times and he got this feeling, that this dude is doing some really good stuff. here is the result! enjoy !
mike clark, detroit beatdown founder and former ur operative agent x, gives some love to weather report s wonderful river people. there are two versions on this translucent green 12inch. the beatdown rework and the house mix. both are stone-cold bombs. jaco pastorius awesome bass line and joe zawinul s cascading synths primed for the dance floor. mike has done an amazing job on a modern jazz classic. don t sleep on this. vinyl only. limited to 500.
gospel disco time again!!!! after the sucess of -the power of you re love- we deceded to pull out a couple more of our gospel disco dancefloor favorites. elbernita -twinkie- clark-terrell ( who was in the the clark sisters before going solo) recorded this beast for the lp ye shall receive power in 1980-81 for armen boladian s sound of gospel records out of detroit (a sub of the mighty westbound records). both tracks featured on the lp only so desperatly need some 45 action. i m not going to try and sell you this one with tales of its history all you need to do is drop the needle (or press the little play icon)..... straight up monster dancefloor destructor.
talk about the legends of house and kenny dope gonzalez holds one of the undisputed seats in the gallery. since breaking out of brooklyn as new york house began to dominate the 1990s the dope man rose to the very top with masters at work, gaining a peerless reputation as beatmaker, producer and dj. originally brought to strictly rhythm as a teenager by todd terry, he became one of the key producers in forging the strictly sound through releases by the untouchables and total kaos, and his work with louie vega on the sole fusion and hardrive projects. back home at strictly with a fresh new production (for the first time since 1999), kenny teams up with another legend of house, roland clark (aka south st player) for talk dirty, a rumbustious, risque excursion that sees clark delivering one of his trademark monologues over kenny s perfect beats. it s a fitting sound for the 900 number the landmark nine hundredth single released on strictly rhythm
dublin based disco imprint fatty fatty phonographics return with the 4th instalment of their downtownsounds classics series, this time throwing three stone-cold classics onto one 12, all given the re-edit treatment by in house producers pablo and shoey. voiced by leroy burgess, with drums by hip hop legend marley marl and production by the aleem brothers, release yourself was a huge across-the-board anthem in the clubs of nyc on its release in 1984. the lads have superglued elements of both the vocal and dub sides together for an epic end of night take on this beloved classic. the b side features two under appreciated classics from the pen of one billy nichols, a man known for his work with west end records (the levan mixed give your body up to the music ) and the funky band of brothers that was bt express. on take me... nichols hooked up with disco master patrick adams for an emotional, string drenched disco belter that has found favour with the likes of dimitri from paris, floating points and hunee. while dance if off is a wonky proto acid-disco trip beloved of rahaan and eric duncan of rub n tug. with copies going for over 300 euros, you can do your bank account and your dancefloor a favour here.
back in 2015 our bearded dirtybird player, will clarke, needed a secret weapon for some of his festival gigs for the summer. he sampled the ghetto house legend, dj funk, who made an appearance on dirtybird back in 2013 for the kill frenzy smash, “make that booty clap”. will passed it on to the rest of the dirtybird crew, and before we knew it the track took a life of it’s own and quickly became one of the most requested tracks, even to this day. will ended up linking with dj funk himself, and they turned what was a quick bootleg into a full blown collaboration. ladies & gentlemen, “booty percolatin’” is officially here. for the flip side, we added will’s solo effort “house girl”, a bumpin’ ride with a contagious bassline and chanting vocals for all the ‘house boys’ and ‘house girls”
nice price deal !!! danny clarks solid ground label is already in its short lifespan proving to be one of the most indemand soulful labels around – working with the crème de la crème of vocalists, and mixing up their own productions alongside key names on the mixes, the winning formula is firmly fixed on quality. for the fourth release, jay & danny diversify their sound by taking on a deeper tone and working in the haunting vocals of the outstanding nica brooke, with a killer remix package from underground collectives marlon d & the ever impressive atjazz taking the track on different routes.
nice price deal !!! mr roland clark needs no presentation at all : multi talented and heavy house hero is now ready with his first release on purple music. run run run is a reggae-song in a house music-production. upon the remix of balearic soul of ricky ls >born again<, >sun is shining n of funkstar deluxe & bob sinclar<s jamaican experiences we know that reggae influenced tunes are working very well on the dancefloors…try it
very nice patrick adams & billy nichols produced boogie tune. original copies are very rare! huge record!
while being a rare patrick adams and billy nichols production, mary clark’s “take me i’m yours” has in recent years become one of the most celebrated disco tracks by contemporary deejays. this borderline gospel-disco gem has all the elements of a timeless disco cut, a driving bass line, powefully arranged strings and horns, but most importantly, a very soulful performance by mary clark. like many of peter brown’s “affliate” labels, little is known about them or the artists recorded. originaly released in 1980 on ‘la shawn’, it is rumored to have been no more than 200 records originally pressed, making this one of the most sought 12 inches among collectors.
as mood ii swing, production duo lem springsteen and john ciafone became one of the most in-demand remixers in the late 90s. the duo s production career began modestly, however. after a failed attempt at r&b, the two turned to house music. early productions such as sylvano s * helpless* and wall of sound s *critical* were a step in the right direction, as were releases such as -i need a bitch- for cutting and -searchin - for groove on, but it was the duo s remixes of ultra naté s * free* for strictly rhythm that struck gold. the song became a huge hit and soon mood ii swing was remixing big-name producers like bt (-remember-) and king britt (* the reason*) as well as the next ultra naté single, * found a cure*, which also became a huge hit record around the world. then, as a testament to the duos success, the new york-based nervous have dug up the remixes mood ii swing did for the label during their seminal mid 90s period re mastered and re released on wax for 2016.
roots for bloom hit release number eleven with another newcomer to the label. mara lakour deliver straight up house grooves from france to the uk based label. clark st is the big hotter here with powerful stabs and synth lines and that ever present prominent low end that roots for bloom is becoming known for. the whole ep carries a 90 s twang but brought very much up to date in great style.
what happens when you pair multiple grammy® award-winning singer/songwriters from two separate groups whose members are also part of a legendary gospel dynasty? the new super trio, 3 winans brothers. with 17 grammys among them, a star on the hollywood walk of fame, countless accolades and more, 3 winans brothers, bebe, marvin and carvin, have joined together for the first time ever because of their love for writing, singing, and performing music. their debut album, foreign land (released september 30th, 2014) was written by the brothers, and released on the siblings’ independent record label, regimen records through a partnership with bmg & eone music. now, louie vega has taken one of their album tracks, the song “dance” (which features the grammy winning clark sisters) and reworked it for the dance floors. this version also included on vega’s new upcoming album this summer “louie vega starring…” will be released as a single on april 21, 2015 at all digital outlets on vega records. and look out for the vinyl release too. after a stellar performance at miami music week at the poolside funkified get down jam in march 2015, 3 winans brothers featuring the clark sisters have a smash hit already at clubs through select djs playing it, on radio with regular rotation in the tristate area on 107.5 wbls in nyc, magic 95.9 fm in baltimore and now washington dcs whur 96.3 fm. the royal families of gospel are taking the world by storm with “dance” (louie vega mixes) - 3 winans brothers featuring the clark sisters, universal sounds riding the musical dance waves worldwide!!
absolutely huge record from the shelter vaults! roland clark killing it on this underground house anthem from the turn of the millenium. i get deep (shelter mix) is pure peak time joy, based around a rough looping sample lifted from blue magics seminal philly anthem welcome to the club from 1976 and with clarks vocals telling us how he gets down in the club over some heavyweight drums. simple, yet devastatingly effective. this 12inch also features the dub mixes, original mix and the always indispensable acapella version for those who wish to create their own version!
with >the lost remixes pt. 2< deep vibes recordings continues to contribute to the love for vinyl: three fine remixes, two previously released digitally through major house labels, are now available on black gold for the first time. sascha dives trippy remix of silicon soul and the pumping muscle-house remix of roland clark & urban soul are already worth every penny.
*gussie presenting the right tracks* - the original 70s classic collection with 11 selected tracks on wax. a true parade of jamaican greats horace andy, dennis brown, gregory isaacs, augustus pablo, leroy smart etc. - the next decade gussie clarke went truly outernational with global hits galore but these are the crucial cuts that paved the way!
d3 recordings offshoot d3 elements is only three releases deep, but already their releases are reaching must-check status. following their recent release of a superb ep from us deep house veteran brian harden, the paris-based imprint offers up something a little different - an ep of gorgeously deep and melodic flavours that joins the dots between head-nodding instrumental hip-hop and floor-friendly 4/4 fare. there are plenty of surprises, too, including techno stalwart terrence parker delivering a flute-heavy downtempo head-nodder, some gorgeous beatdown from detroiter mike clark, and a thrillingly string-laden chunk of deep house bliss from the aforementioned harden.
what might happen if one would tuck the moulin rouge in a london warehouse, banned the glitter, burned down the tinsel and raised the volume the debut album of hamburg based clark davis is exactly showing that, seducing by every trick in the book with irresistible, easy going grooves and nasty beats
to introduce the album, a fantastic deep-tech -original mix- by the english duo the filthygeeks. then, following the groove, a dance floor anthem, a killer -version- by the famous producers luca m and just 2 working in team to bring to the table their tech style finest sounds.
big new vogelfrei vinylrelease by clark davis with massive remixes by ken hayakawa (musik gewinnt freunde) and gabriel la mar (praxxiz). played and supported by: hanne & lore, simina grigoriu, bebetta, oliver schories, alec troniq, datamatrix
this is first single cut from the long awaited japanese deep house maestro kuniyuki takahashi s feather world (mule musiq cd 39, release on 21th jan!). kuniyuki invited many amazing gest musicians from bugge wesseltoft, henrik schwarz, fumio itabashi and name a few. this first single cut is club friendly version of the collaboration track with legendary 80 s poetry singer anne clark . her our darkness are our all time favorite. kuniyuki version is Êhomage to his all time favorite early 90 s house track. our very favorite new artist barnt version is his unique dark kraut rock oriented house.
we all remembered definition:music 001 horatio & katoline - mi nombre. a track remixed by the grand master reboot himself, which shaken the things and brought this label into the spotlight. we awaited the follow up and it came as a warm collaboration between this dynamic duo (h&k) an...
