greco-romance. it has often been said that the early underground parties thrown by the greco-roman artist collective, party and record label were romantic affairs. maybe it was the punch, maybe it was the music, but love was certainly in the air. and so the third solo ep from hot chips joe goddard picks up where last summers ep *taking over*s love affair with club basements left off.

on the 7th releasethe almighty uzb joins the abstract animal family and brings in some spanish fire. uzb already left his marks on numberous releases on labels like sleaze, enemy or sonntag morgen and is also famous under his unam zetineb alias. the ep starts with a repetitive dark chord monster called shift that will set some floors on fire for sure. and if that wasnt enough the hauling percussions and eerie sounds in long rang will push you over the edge. on the b-side you all can calm down a little bit with the great deep fast forward and the even more relaxed remix by leghau on b2

returning to his original home for this ep, it represents yet another left turn on the ukkonen musical path. the man himself says: *once again i want to change direction a little, whilst still keeping all the things i love in there - the polyrhythms, phasing loops, ambiguous timings and so on* however this set sees the tempo looser than before. we are not sure if post-techno actually ever happened, but maybe post-discotronica is, er, in the post. anyway, we liked the tracks so much that we once again went the extra mile with the physical product - a clear and white marbled thing of beauty, cut to 10 inch size in a 12 inch pressing.

there are things in life which are suitable and things in life which aren t suitable. the things which are suitable should be ignored and left for those who enjoyed being tucked into bed and being walked across the street with their hands being held. the things which aren t suitable are what you will probably have some fun with despite the bumps and bruises suffered as a result. the suitable nature of the unsuitability of the following cheek full of tongue provided by scott robinson, ben pest, nox, and norman mueller will hopefully not cause any permanent damage along the way.

after playing some of sage caswells exclusive tracks as part of their live set, it only seemed right for brooklyn trio archie pelago to welcome sage to the family. it all started with ap including *buyerside* in their resident advisor mix, which ended up getting remixed by them for this very release, making sure that their personal touch is left on every archie pelago music record.
