the opening hits of the percussion stay smooth and relaxed, and the instruments come in one-by-one first the synth, then the strings, then the brass to create an experience thats both engaging and relaxing. this is the sort of music i would listen to if i cruised the streets of san francisco in the evenings. as >back to the bay< wraps up and pulls us into his remix of >screw up<, we get a dose of subscapes intensity, but its quickly pulled back into matty gs signature low-bass, hip-hop/dubstep fusion beats. >jam like a tek< adds in some vocal hooks to get the crowd chanting and you are missing out if you dont add this into your mix. deep kick drums, a snappy snare, big distortion on the scratchy bass wobbles, and the vocals all come together perfectly to create a track thatll get people grinding like mad on the dancefloor.
driving forces recordings are happy to present roberto capuanos first ep for the label.
next to this new talents three original tunes, on >invaders are back ep< you will find one of driving forces biggest tracks to date, no less than drumcode and 8 sided dice artist, alan fitzpatrick delivering an amazing remix of the title track, which has already been supported by adam beyer, joseph capriati, sasha carassi and alan himself, on his recent essential mix for bbc radio 1.
too late for this years christmas festivities, but hopefully still an acceptable gift for vinyl enthusiasts: two previously digital-only tracks from the running back(catalogue) on one split-10inch-plate. todd terjes picturesque ambient version of ragyshs antagonist snooze 4 love is backed up by jack plugs (alias chris bishop) supernatural (disco) dub of son of sams 1984 electro punk punch nature makes a mistake. two for one, one for all and 500 copies for the world.
helium robots is ewan wilmott. up until now with only two (albeit brilliant!) dissident releases under his belt - and an album on the horizon - he might have been under most peoples radar.a pity! the helium robots make imaginative factory-records-electro-balearic-disco, errr, and robot music. two tracks of that caliber are placed on the a-side. the flip has theo parrish laying his gifted hands on jarza to two different outcomes.>translation 1< is an up-to-date parrish space cadet trip, while the second take emphases the dark and typical theo magic in his roots house period.limited beautiful robot sleeve covers.the laws of robotics!
welcome back to the underground is a limited pressing dj swiss knife essential for every field with : the ultimate >disco night< edit, filtered by hundred processors from ssls to digital t-racks and focusing on the house music roots parts of the song, pure feeling.a totally unknown house track remix. cleaned and converted with the latest technology, this is an extended straight 124 bpm real 4x4 tool here, completely exclusive, never been released before. high demand on this.on the b side a dj tool cut of >stebenis theme< that is circulating in detroit and paris since quite a while and inspired a well known existing white label. ranging from sound sculpture morphed to proto afro dub house, 125 bpm, resync edit at 1/32 bar, harmonized fx & drumkit to the original beat. on b2 a very special slow house/nu disco version of >adventures in paradise< melted to samp les including the same theme with a backside 80s funk clap especial : a diggers heaven. the vinyl cover is hand stamped with the a logo designed by a famous street art painter.
a re-working of defkline and red polo is whats on offer for the latest release on the ever so cheeky cheeky hot cakes. >take it back< is instantly recogniseable and is expertly re-crafted by deekline and ed solo on the a side, the super star pairing make this one a must buy. ably backed up by a phatman and robin mix, dont miss out.
we are proud to announce our second release, >there s a way back<, the new ep from london based producer graphics, backed with a remix from getme!s very own dam mantle.
back 2 back is built around a spontaneous live jam by dj pippi, tucillo and kiko navarro in dj pippis studio on ibiza. in a few hours they had finished the track. the ep opens with tucillo and willi graffs dub, a muscular, driving, stripped down rework of the original for a popping dance floor. kokis back dub is also a floor tool that has been well tested this summer by kiko navarro with great results. the ep finishes with a very cool afriki soul remix by bhoddi satva.
10 years of killing sheep records and still no one can touch them, the original cross over dnb / hardcore label delivers this years definitivednb / hardcore release. tymon melds the genres with ease and even manages to pull off an epic dubstep drop amongst the chaos of massive kicks and snares. the dj producer rinses old skool breaks over the top of a pounding kick drum, plenty of intelligent drum choppage action.
the man with the mask shouldnt need an introduction: delsin, styrax leaves and his own present outfit have shown the mans ability to maneuver between true school techno, malicious house, break beat bombs and motor city romanticism - all ornamented with redshapes very own mark. for running back, he delivers something like a cross sum of his work. >on da floor< (>da< reads >the<) is subterranean haunted house with a broken heart, while >goom< features a take-your-shirt-off reese-bass-line. if you like it dry, the >bonus beatz< >z< reads >s<) of >goom< will satisfy your needs. bass drum jungle music
alter ego have brought the rukus with this release and is pretty much standard for these london based producers. this has sold really well on promo so dont miss out on this one.
hailing from new zealand, truth and decoda have established themselves as true heavyweights of the dubstep scene. following releases on several high profile labels, and their hit album >puppets< truth lay it down for wheel & deal.
truth & decoda the emperor: emperor is the heavy hitting, distorted reese tearout monster with a dramatic intro of horror film proportions. this follows the dark jump up vibe of wheel & deal, and will smash up any dance.
truth & dutty ranks calling you back: this is a upbeat style track, reminiscent of the older dubstep sound. with a tribal skank and haunted garage style vocal, this is soulful but sub heavy in its own right.
these have had support from n-type, walsh, hatcha, and mistajam to name but a few.

gethigh is a new track release from laid back. the lyrics may instantly lead your mind onto thinking of cannabis but try to think about it in a broader context, in a more universal way. we all want to get high whatever we do in life, in all walks of life, in spirits, sports, politics, showbusiness, all kind of business, in school and education and not to forget love. musically the groove is kept in the recognizable family of the horse, with an updated twist. actually the song was born in key of major, as a more rock guitar riff kinda song included in the package. also included is an ultra minimalistic version, mainly made on ipad. danish electronic musician and dj kasper bjørke has done a really cool remix. finally we made a space mix, mainly for our own pleasure and for those who like to get out there and more into it. a video is in the final editing stage, following the style of beautiful day and cocaine cool, with self made animation. music is more than a trendy sound and a fancy look. laid back is always going for something personal, original and timeless. copenhagen, september 2011.
>joi is smiling / now she s jumping< is the 12-inch-single going hand in hand with >shhh, dandelions at play< - the latest album by boof. the sound of flowers dancing. produced by maurice fulton.
carefully caressing your back whilst whispering sweet nothings into your ear, pillowtalk join the life and death family with their modern dance soul hybrid, >the come back ep<. despite the name, its actually a debut ep -- and one that quickly establishes pillowtalks unique sound as an important voice in the new generation of contemporary dance music. already getting serious play (and props) from a wide range of djs, from the deep & soulful wolf + lamb and soul clap crews all the way to the banging bass centric justin martin, >the come back< finds life and death once again crossing the conventional genre descriptions with a true dancefloor bomb that everyone can get behind. imagine motown and classic doo-wop blended with a modern dance sensibility and you may start to get an idea of the pillowtalk sound. but its better to stop imagining and just have a listen because what these guys are doing is so genuinely unique, its not an easy one to pigeonhole with words and genre titles alone. the ep includes >the come back<, >soft< and >long lost friends< as well as a life and death remix of >soft<. put together in the life and death laboratories it brings a darker, deeper take on this beautiful and already incredibly sentimental dancefloor serenade.
following on from spencer parkers artist album, saved continues with an ep from berlin based artist emerson todd. having gained releases on cocoon, get physical and dirtybird, emerson delivers 3 amazing records on the >got your back ep<.
on the a side is grooving >aint no thing< whilst on the flipside is >drifting boats< featuring fabian reichelt and >say what<. this ep is a solid package with tracks that are sure to get dancefloors rocking as we start to move away from the ibiza season and towards the winter months.
all tracks have been serviced directly to global tastemaker djs including eric prydz, john digweed, danny howells, james zabiela, sasha, laurent garnier, carl cox, richie hawtin, sander kleinenberg to name but a few, over 200 djs in all.
back and forth welcomes the autums with a brand new release that will fill the dancefloor all over the world with its different attitude and styles but always provided by some of the greatest producers on the scene
the moreaboutmusic label launch the secret weapon series for long lost gems and future classics, inspired by the sounds of early chicago house, sheffield bleep and detroit techno. secret weapon #1 comes from deep space orchestra with the future deep house classic >hold me back<, remixes come from disco don cosmic boogie and acid house scientists paranoid london. deep space orchestra deliver the goods with >hold me back<, a stripped down, nu-groove, mr fingers inspired, deep house jam. a simple kick and cymbal pattern builds slowly into a layered percussive house groove, with a pulsating juno bass line. organ stabs tease in and out of the track that build up to a hypnotic hook. the layered rhythms build, whilst a vocal stab teases in and out of the track, layering sounds and sonics, before dropping back onto an irresistible jacking house groove. the remixes are adding some fine flavors to this excellent debut release of mam records.
this time we present you with 3 new names on the labels roster. quell has already been causing waves this year with releases on esteemed imprints like ibadan, 8 bit and these days amongst others. his track >real people< has been a favourite with us since quell sent it out a few months back. steady and with a very pumpy bass, the track builds a very sensual mood reminiscent of the music played at the sound factory back in the days. jack union is a side project from label owner alex tsotsos for his retro sounding house productions. >you can make it< is exactly that. chunky drums and an oldschool sounding organ set the theme for a playful and heavy classic house track. on the flip, we introduce two long time friends the square room heroes. >now is the time< combines modern sound aesthetics with a smokey voice urging you to release the freak. from claap with love

englishman matthew styles is a special one. firmly schooled in the history of dance music as a dj, his productions usually carry a uniqueness that cannot be located in time and space - a little bit like what courtney melody tried to put into words with his >modern girl<. styles debut for running back is his first solo release in a long while and ticks all the niceness boxes: straight up house with >dont call me again< that works itself up in a frenzy, the rough and ready >scale< performance without a ruffle, >polee< and its irresistible melody and last but not least the percussive and bass-heavy lunacy of >galaxy 21<. yee-haw! styles for days !!

a boy named suzanne. travelling from los angeles to portland and back to los angeles again, suzanne krafts vinyl debut features four tracks of frenetic sunshine ecstasy. chill rave, pill wave, hypno disco, balearic beats or slow-motion house made by the careless youth of the us-american west coast? call it what you want, at the end of the day or the night its simply joyful music made to make you happy. on krafts >green flash ep<, the contemplative romance of >green flash< counteracts the straightness of >morning come<, while >turning< and especially >femme cosmic< are the icing on the cake. lets face it, old people: the kids are all right! first 5000 copies housed in a killer and tremendously flamboyant sleeve. bite into summer.

sampler #3 from the global communication back in the box compilation album, the techno and ambient retrospective selected by tom middleton and mark pritchard, back together again after a 15 year hiatus. opening up this seriously hot four track ep is an ultra rare and often overlooked carl craig remix of yennek, aka kenny larkin. two detroit pioneers collide on this beauty, with delicate oscillating keys gliding over a heavyweight breakbeat and clattering hats, a signature style of carl s. the track really kicks in with the bassline and monumental pitch bending synth stabs. a real must have for anyone with a love for the original detroit sound
