burly, uk-styled rave tackle from berlin’s phon.o for tectonic after spending the last few years exploring subsets of garage-techno on 50 weapons. clearly carving towards tectonic’s ruder ‘floor criteria, he plays out the dank, shadow-boxing 2-step drums and swooping subs of mercurial next to the aggier grime slap of u8 phunk for the berlin scallies, and yokes some splintered breaks into a submerged jungle-techno chassis with bell blender.

following on from the underground success of florists debut ep, all caps first release of the year sees the label pluck from the ether 6 transmissions by debut artiste - neuroshima. cavernous breaks. fluid subs. 1992. 2016.my friend & i used to listen to this during the summer of 94, gazing out his bedroom window at sunset, watching the birds fly past the water tower on the horizon. one of the rare times when both of us would shut up for a few minutes and get lost for a bit, each record comes packaged in a mirrored silver-board sleeve + custom insert designed by florist.

leibniz takes no prisoners for his return to shtum. his new ep sees the leipziger by choice in best form. harsh but fair. -grind- is a masterpiece in the matter of building up tension with only few but proper elements. amen to that drumming and when the strings come in the dance floor is probably already burning. -foolish- is no less effective with its ultimate kick drum action and the way the pads are manipulated. romantic leibniz. on the flipside you get the vibrant -this is- in two versions. the -brecht mix- screams rave in capital letters with the bleepy synths and hard snare drum while the -scuff mix- trawls through dark and unearthy techno territories. no-nonsense music.

otake 007 is the debut from the born new polish project id ensemble. the release is called hollow ep and is authored by filip kaczmarek, self taught musician with technological attention to detail. it is one of few projects which filip runs in parallel although this one is heavily influenced by berlin sound exports. it was created as an expression of the need to break from the pattern, escape from the trademark. there are four tracks on the ep which are inspired by some detroit and berlin sounds, thus still having some special polish touch.

ontal series is back with it’s second (ontal #2) output which includes a collaboration between dronelock and ontal called “svest” accompanied by a powerful tribal remix from the main man behind mord records - mr. bas mooy. the flipside starts with an industrial ebm track called “mehanizam” and ends with “lesion”, an acid techno/noise mutation that ontal performed in their live sets for the past few years.

when we started heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. therefore, i’s our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers ouer, a berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from chicago and detroit. theres a nice mix of energy on the whole ep, the ascent being the most driving track of the package. fans of classics mcde tracks will love show off with its dreamy dx7 style chords and cracking acid lines. move over feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas mess around goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. an impressive ep were just all too happy to have on our label. sincerely yours, lars & maarten

michele mininnis hyper martino ep is a strange adventure in sound, the finest example of music noir and engaging story of audio science fiction. michele hails from south italy and counts everything from post-punk, krautrock to new wave, house and disco amongst his influences. hes been a dj for years but only in 2014 has released his debut tupolev love ep on glasgows optimo trax. he immediately found himself in the spotlight of discerning djs and music collectors alike. after a few months he released another highly acclaimed ep entitled endless ceremony on belgian label curle. and now, after a short hiatus he returns with his latest hyper martino ep radiating oblique and unpredictable sounds. remixes come courtesy of tel aviv’s hit-assembly-line red axes who yet again deliver a bloody good remix, and of a reckless new age traveller, industrial-yoga-trance guru and australian multi culturist dreems.le temps perdu is a new label founded by lemmy caution, a man of mistery, a fan of steal mustangs, robot poetry and otherworldly sounds, well know across the outlands and operating from alphaville. the vinyl release includes a download code.

two years ago i played at studio 9 in vilnius, lithuania. the following day i missed my flight home and ended up spending an extra day, which gave me a chance to explore the city with my friend linus, who took me to the contemporary art centre. it was there i spotted a book named ‘rojus’, that linus told me translated as ‘paradise’. the word and striking cover of the book stuck in my mind. a few days after returning home, i turned on to a national geographic documentary named ‘designed to dance’, explaining the courtship rituals of birds of paradise. as i watched, i jokingly began drawing similarities between these birds’ attempts to captivate and impress the opposite sex with dance, and the way strangers try to attract one another in clubs and interact on the dance floor. this gave me the idea of creating a record of functional club music, sequenced as if it were a club night, from doors to closing, using samples of these birds of paradise and their habitat. thus, rojus. leon vynehall 2016

it’s been some time since the last black jukebox edition came out. this time shir khan hits us with the 14th edition featuring onsra & bas roos. secret parisian project onsra came out of nowwhere with his debut track funky town‘ which was the best selling track on exploited last year - topping tons of charts. support did come from various djs such as disclosure, danny krivit, laurent garnier, dj sneak, luke solomon, adriatique, terranova, ardalan, ben pearce, friendly fires, xxxxy, miguel campbell, jaques renault, rainer trueby, dj t to mention a few. now he is back with 2 new joints - so good is a 112bpm loopbased disco house jam which reminds a bit of old soundstream records. other day is a real boogie joint. bas roos on the flip is a newbie and youngster from rotterdam with a fresh residency at toffler club keeping things smooth and mellow with searchin’ and don’t let go the disco limited collector s vinyl only. cop that before it sells out.

ashworth concentrates on the essence of solid techno in his first full ep for made of concrete. inspired by the main component of concrete itself, the material is intitled ‘portland’ and consists of no less than four original tracks. “world” makes for a gentle introduction by opening with a soft melodic lead, swiftly changing the tempo after a few measures. we’re quickly immersed in a syncopated bassline peppered with whirring synths that harmonise with full scale piano cuts, the most intriguing earworm on the entire cut. on “launch” the producer lays down hard hitting techno drums from the get-go, setting the foundation for a tense atmosphere. ashworth’s signature move quickly ensues, as he manages to inject emotion through synths and piano pads into an otherwise tense and anxiety-ridden ambiance. toning down the graveness of the previous tracks’ mood, ”mineral” reveals a surrendering groove, with a stripped down, minimalist approach, where the melody is assembled with the help of industrial elements, emotive bleeps and electric glitches. ashworth’s experimental edge is evident in the final track “scatter” - the sub bass lead creates a morose atmosphere paired with low-key synths and mechanical loops. while the first two tracks showcase ashworth’s ability to instill life into solemn techno soundscapes, the second half of the ep successfully exhibits his edgy experimental side, adding up to a heterogenous release.

south london analogue material is back with the long awaited release from keepsakes. whadyyatalkinbout is a ruthless opener, its aggressive, distorted techno with all the keepsakes trademarks. the remix by bas mooy is a dance floor tool and has been doing the damage over the last few months. on the flip gorbs house is rough down tempo stomper with a naughty acid section and forward strategy group finish off with the b side remix giving the ep nice balance.

bodyjack returns to his bodytrax label with another 3 outstanding bodytrax. is he always like this? is an infectious groove-based techno workout which has been tried and tested by a select few djs over the last few months. kamala’s revenge is a hypnotic tribal roller with darkside vocals, off-kilter rhythms and & tripped out fx. one for the heads down crew. last but not least, the uptempo house jacker disrespect combines a killer bassline and bodyjack’s now signature razor sharp beats ’n’ stabs to round off the ep. oh, and there are 4 locked grooves on the 12- release for the heads. don’t sleep on this one!

jumpmono records is the brand new label from uk techno brothers, anti-slam & w.e.a.p.o.n. after the growing success of their digital only label, jumpstereo records, it was only a matter of time before the brothers went back to their roots and created a label not only for the digital world but also heavily focused on vinyl.
for the first release we happily welcome one of the finest producers of the past few years, raul mezcolanza, with his incredible track called diagram.
on remix duties we have super duo, spektre, who bring a superb, harder techno edge to the release. etai tarazi takes care of the second remix with a more stripped back and melodic approach that works perfectly across dance floors and label bosses, anti-slam & w.e.a.p.o.n. finish off the release with their usual energetic, groove driven style.

the maghreban has been making dusty house music for a couple of years now and has put a few records out on his own imprint zoot and also on versatile records. some people have liked this. the maghreban found a bunch of old cassette tapes at his dads house. one said ‘alex july 84&#8242,,, on it. this tape was from alexandria, egypt in the summer of 1984. it had some interesting music recorded on it. the maghreban sampled a few of the tracks to make this one.

the btrax records label is back after few years off, and we are sure that new ep will not disappointed you. we are very proud to put out 2 stunning tracks made by one of the label founder : ben men from paris - france.french electronic music scene activist since the early 1990s, ben men is a multifaceted artist, both dj, records dealer, producer and party promoter. since 2001, ben men s btrax parties are hosted at legendary rex club. co-founder of the label -btrax records” with releases of the legendary 7 scan from detroit, vince watson, electric rescue, scan x, julian jeweil, mr c... he was co-founder and manager of record stores statik and basement trax records from 1996 to 2002.just a quick description of the tracks, “the journey” is… as you can imagine, a musical journey track clearly dedicated to the label influences. landscapes of twisting textures, brooding melodics which embarks upon a stunningly trippy journey of it s own.“morning glory” a straight-up slice detroit-infused melodic techno, adds a tough drum line and sweeping touches, as his signature style shines through

italian rudeboy ivan iacobucci brings his brand of lowdown funk-influenced tech house to apollonia with this sterling three-tracker. over two decades of hard work and dedication to his craft has culminated in ivan’s untainted reputation and widespread respect within the underground from true heads like zip and, of course, the apollonia boys. his love of jazz in evident throughout this ep which is full of subtlety and depth, pulsating b-lines and smooth chords are interlaced with razor-sharp percussion and delicate keys. the first track ‘old in on’ has a laid back, though driving, groove, pushing forward with a hefty bassline that is perfectly counterbalanced by the light twinkling keys and barely-there pads. ‘scris frumos’ encapsulates more of an ominous, tribal feeling with intricate effects trickling through every pore of its deep, dark exterior. its atmospherics keep you intrigued, voices echo in the background and a few moments of softened chimes really intensify the already mysterious vibe. ‘mini ass’ channels more of that electro-funk that forms the foundation of ivan’s love for music, haywire radio pulses prance around stuttered beats, giving it a slightly cosmic feel, while pipes add a more organic nuance to the track. absolutely masterful work from ivan, and another inspired addition to the apollonia catalogue.

after a series of releases on hakt recordings, nicolas jaar’s other people and a collab with kasper bjorke, abstraxion returns to his own biologic records which he co-manages with dc salas? not only is this his first solo ep on the label since a few years, its also the second release to celebrate biologics 10th anniversary year. resonance comprises of the original cut and three remixes. pressing on grey marbled vinyl.

local talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, greg dowling, shane johnson aka fish go deep. these two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. both greg & shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in cork city between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned sweat night at sir henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as kerri chandler, laurent garnier, dj deep, glenn underground, derrick may just to name a few. it s a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on local talk. first track, off script, takes us straight back to the days of prescription. the driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish. on the flip, northern reach, follows on the same theme. it hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo s skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. you wouldn t be surprised to hear dixon drop this in a dj set.

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

italian trio agents of time make their ellum debut with a weighty, two track release. magma shares remnants of label head maceo plexs own formidable style, with compelling synths, punchy claps and a rumbling bassline. obsidian is finally seeing a release after causing heat from fur coat’s feature in their bbc essential mix a few months ago. heady, powerful, stirring, expertly crafted, adjectives that are regularly used for ellum releases and agents of time have confidently followed their predecessor’s footsteps. agents of time are andrea di ceglie, fedele ladisa and luigi tutolo. making music together since july 2013, they have clocked up an album on stem records and the massive polina ep on correspondent. their supporters include dixon, agoria and tiga, and their sound has been brought to over 20 countries through a live platform with analogic instruments.

love notes from brooklyn is proud to present a brand new and promising young american artist in the form of tape hiss. these three moody and emotive tracks fit in perfectly with the label sound love notes has been developing over their last few release. the panic in needle park, the clear standout track, begins the ep with gloomy synth washes at a chugging, pitched down speed. that track is then ably reworked by fellow brooklynite, willie burns, of lies and wt records, who breaks the beat up for a stunted and unique reinterpretation. on the flip, love is a dog from hell brings a little acid to the proceedings, and traces to nowhere closes it out on consitantly dark and moody note. literates will note the bukowski references throughout. another winner for this label

if you ve followed local talk thru the years you ve most likely noticed how we like to throw a few curve-balls every now and then. for our 65th release we ve got gomma boss mathias modica aka munk and ndatl head honcho kai alce sharing the black gold. two producers with their own unique style presenting something special. while munk s original version of hot medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by mr alce is deep, soulful and musically rich house. two very different takes on one track, take your pick. on the flip munk delivers purple dust. this time he s upped the tempo a few bpm s, accompanied by a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords. mr alce ends the 12- with a dub of hot medusa which is brilliant from start to finish. another highly recommended and essential release.

re-issue of a ltd aussie techno/house 12- from 1997. in 1997 tim jackiw emerged on the scene with his very first release on the short-lived aussie imprint, offworld records. the release was limited to 500 copies and went virtually unnoticed. a few music journalists at the time of the release dubbed it as one of the greatest electronic records to come out of australia. the a-side begins with a long deep technosoul journey. the b-side continues with more recombinant classic detroit and chicago sounds of the golden era. recondite is proud to re-issue this long lost introduction to tims music with new sounds to come in the near future!

2016 repress! next level va on stockholm limited. subtle, crispy and analogue techno. following on from andre kronert s start studded exu reworked ep, which saw contributions from efdemin and peder mannerfelt to name a few, stockholm ltd come right back with another killer. this time it s straight from the shadows, with masterful input from mighty thor, savas pascalidis and border one as well as newcomer dj redo.

acid house pioneer jaime read is one of the few uk artists who has had the dubious honour of being ripped off by chicago house royalty. never one to let this early setback hold him back, jaime has gone on to an illustrious career, producing great music since the early nineties, and more recently in collaboration with legendary uk deejay felix dickinson under the name l.h.a.s. inc (larry heard appreciation society) this 4 track solo ep sees him mastering a variety of styles. the opener is a dreamy emotional r&b number called is it real what u feel? which features a gorgeous vocal turn from jaime himself. kaanlile floats a sumptuous melodica line over some mellow electro influenced acid. deep cut rolling dreams has slinky piano, soaring house strings, more vocals and strong ecstasy vibes. finally, a night in shirley closes out the ep in a beautiful boogie influenced, relentless but mellow groove
