we have started a new project from a new part of finish team records only on vinyl. for the first release we have made a 4 track e.p. with the main artists of the label: manu p, andrea rubolini, aumrec & gabriele orsini. first track is composed by manu p, and is named el torito. is the perfect track for the summer time, with a latin tech house with a huge bass and melodic voice, perfect for the middle of the night set. the second is a track by andrea rubolini (the crowd), also here a huge bass during all the track and a melodic synth that characterized the track. the third track by aumrec (elonove), is more techno, with lot of strange and secret minimal part and a solid and fresh kick. gabriele orsini also composed the fourth track (the suspect), a techno and intense travel trough the dark techno scene.

after releases on saints & sonnets and stay underground, it pays, berlin artist quell aligns with the mil label for the four track tomahawk which further cements his reputation for no-nonsense, stripped back house and techno music. size 7 sets the tone, a dark, underground roller with a trilling bassline and acidy bleeps that sits nicely alongside the shimmering chords and deep dubby vibes of monolame. on the b-side, harhead leads with fluid percussive rhythms and sequential kick drums to give an immediate grooveintrinsic melody. the energetic, grooveled tone continues into the last track, where are they now, a dark, technofused stripped back rhythm track with an acid tinged-feel.

the third installment of silent movie sounds series features music from four producers each delivering a different cut of deep, hypnotic music. japanese artist mituo shiomi is a regular on simoncino s hotmix records. he kicks off the va with a mesmerizing house track. fresh from his ep on fina records, detroit-based producer appian contributes a thumping track to this 12inch. russian producer alex danilov returns to rhr with a love story to acid. last but not least, the chicagobased coowner of perpetual rhythms, nick marshall aka taelue closes the ep with a deep and emotional track with a solid kick and smooth synth lines.

italian born producer distant memories with a four track ep via london based label, wunderkammer recordings. the ep starts with degrado (a1) that belongs to a segment of works named originally “untono” because of the minimum employment of sound elements in the composition. few and simple sonorities to describe the disapproval on the current conditions of things. compulsive (a2) is a track with a more deep feeling that proceeds untill the end around a sharp kick and spectral and obscure sounds. it is crystal clear that this tune represents a compulsive behavior. while mentale (b1) has a good speed with a deep ambience. is a mental but natural progression of sounds that evolves maintaining an incessant and hypnotic journey with a classic refrain that characterized late ’90 trance records. a never-ending cycle minimalism aesthetics of the whole ep.

vibe009 is here! on colored balck/orange 12- vinyl, signed by yan cook (planet rithm/delsin) a techno-industrial track that has the essence of this ukranian producer... big kick, ground noises, a 4/4 to break the dancefloor. andre kronert (odd/even) an a2 for the first remix with his analog trade mark. marco faraone retouched this track with a powerfull techno-detriot flavour. great. to close this vinyl on b2 the dub-techno master quantec (echochord). deep techno trip.

rising label 04 is coming with a very complete ness ep which includes a ben gibson remix. >chronoscope< is the intro track that opens the release, a beautiful landscapes piece where ness shows his love and dexterity for the ambient music. following, >pantropy< is already starting with a heavy kick, far voices layered between the percussions and a sweet melody developing and coming up with that >trancey< touch that ness is able to do. on the b side comes >uchronia<, the track from where the release take the name, a strong broken track with shaped and dynamic percussions where some >chronoscope< landscapes are used flowing as the track goes on. to close the ep ben gibson delivers a classy >uchronia< remix going simple but effective, a perfect balance between gibson style and ness track that totally works out on the floor and makes the prefect closing track for that release.

hot of the heels form his omega album robert hood delivers 2 killer new tracks. the thundering kick and warehouse style acid line on power to prophet will add energy to any dancefloor. clash is a nod to the old skool chicago minimal techno sound of producers such as steve poindexter.

sheik ‘n’ beik are a nyc based cohort specialising in promotion, production and outletting left­of­centre slices of electronic music. with previous releases from family members derek marin, voiski and peter corvaia their 4th release comes courtesy of danny wolfers (a.k.a legowelt) working alongside rush hour regular xosar under their xamiga alias. with this being xamiga’s 3rd release, the pair draw for their trusted arsenal of analogue gear and offer up the ‘bohemian grove’ ep, a woozy brew of foggy textures, gently frazzled hats and detroit­indebted grooves. the title track kicks things off with glassy pads sat atop a long­tailed thud and a sandy shuffle. a distant bass groove wades in ahead of a passage of intricate, band­passed percussion and a circling synth line before ‘cumulus versie’ sets sheets of ethereal vocals and synth strings gently ducking under a taught analogue pulse. ‘midwest’ then sets hissing kicks and frayed hi­hats alongside a rasping bass tone. pitch­bent synth lines then bubble into focus before ‘blizzard’ sets a dystopian tone from the off. a stout kick drum thunders under minor­key chord shifts and a menacing sequence that works to round off another fine addition to the sheik ‘n’ beik series.

the titanic trio are lead by buzzers. the rise and fall of the metallic droplets oil this mighty techno machine as the march of its kick drum rolls like the constant throb of a diesel engine. dark and deadly. erector pili sees joel delivering a relentless tribal pattern wrapped in dreamy atmospheric and moving waves of synth. final cut pulhapanzak seems to combine elements of both the previous tracks. the ferocity of the lead track and the sweeping, ghostly atmosphere of the second, to create an excellent finale.

illusion limited is the limited press sister label to illusion recordings. the label will shine light on new artists and sounds not currently represented on illusion. the first release kicks off with the highly talented manchester based artist seelie who delivers two slices of subtle, classy deep house. this ep has been a while in the making and shows a real development in seelie s sound from classic house to deep textured and hypnotic house. blm provides a huge remix on the a side stripping things back and letting the analogue bline and minimaistic drums create a heady, yet dancefloor track. dilated pupils provide a unqiue broken beat remix of the hypnotic desire on the b-side to round things off and kick off this label in style.

hailing from berlin, but spiritually from chi-town, snuff crew are back in your area with some freshly served up basement goodies once again. following on from basement jams #1, from all the way back in 2011, the boys bring us tracks with the same playful nature as before but, dare i say it, they go even harder this time. stalwart fans of the first release can stop reading now because it will almost certainly be a blind-buy for you, four tracks obviously engineered for use in the club, whether its the massive kick in ‘what it is’ or the ravey acid lead in ‘88cents’. the jams on the b-side may do the most damage. ‘remember’ holds absolutely nothing back, with its arpeggiated bassline lead and crisper than crisp 909 drum programming. analog is a term that gets bandied about all the time nowadays, ever since so many young producers became enamoured with tape compression and hiss delay plug-ins. i know snuff crew are real analog guys though, in sound and mentality, so hearing basement jams #2 for the first time had me so excited once again.

the original opens with a field recording intro followed shortly after by heavy bass shots and a pulsating kick drum. snare patterns and an underwater synth melody hit the speakers with an abstract touch, while halfway through the pace changes with a new bass coming in. an experimental and brave track, it reflects idriss djing style and his long sets, going into different mental spaces, a wavelike combination of beats and up&down rhythms. eduardo de la calle s trademark analog sounds fill his tribute remix with acid keyboards, rim shot grooves, industrial noises and metallic vibes, swinging with a rolling bass line and bringing the original percussions to the fore.

dan farserelli releases the runnings thoughts ep, his first solo outing on the fuse london imprint. running thoughts kicks things off with a sub-aquatic joy ride of deep and twisted beats, shards of static sound puncturing through to lend the track an otherworldly feel. another day toughens things up with a booming kick and more focused dance-floor sensibility whilst the eps vinyl only track lost inside injects a sense of melancholia with its eerie pad imbuing the groove with a trippy edge

after dropping six 12inchs for stilove4music, jerome derradji, makes his debut release on still music with machine jacked an all analog acid techno hardware ode to chicago & detroit. the a side, wurk it, is pure techno funk, a kick drum ride of devastation. acid nothing on the flip is straight acid filthiness featuring rare and profound spoken word

it was very important for me to give a dub-ish colour to this ep and propose something different than what people already know from me.‘pressure feed’ is a tribute to all maurizio’s tracks which i never get bored listening or playing. regarding ‘water flood’, i wanted to produce something simple that stands far from the traditional 4/4 beat. i wanted to make it a break beat on the kick while bringing refined ambiance and atmospheric patches to it. finally, ‘cold atom’ is the result of a permanent rhythmic evolution that embodies the vision i have of an astral trip, both dub and intense.- yakine

monster!! 2015 repress .. gary beck remixes dj rush and the result is a slamming and all destroying weapon. red transparent vinyl. the one track release is relentless. a heavily distorted kick drum underpins numerous ride cymbals and snare roles that nestle in between a crisp hi-hat and snapping snare. dj rushs sleaze-laden vocal flits in and out of the mix with with archetypal beck panning-delays. the original >she is fine< was released on rush’s kne’ deep label in 2007. six years on, 2013 sees gary beck work one of his toughest releases to date.

since the last record, the band have embraced creative opportunities, dave (drummer and producer) travelled to mali with damon albarns africa express, and dave and tommy (synthesizer operator) worked on the score for the royal shakespeare companys production of john websters bloodthirsty jacobean tragedy the white devil. dave established his own label, kick and clap, named after the club night he launched when he first moved to dalston and vinnie (singer and guitarist) and jim (bassist) collaborated with award-winning artist haroon mirza at stromboli arts festival last summer, at the foot of the islands volcano.

damn! did somebody upset carlo coz that boy has been throwing down some vicious balls-to-wall beats across his recent releases... and we love it! he got nasty with shaded s gender bender and kicked some serious ass on his latest for carl cox s intec. whilst carlo s latest outings may be fierce, our toronto brother has lost none of the trademark funk that permeates all of his work. the magic ingredient that keeps our hips on the move. carlo returns to mood with deebug, the rampant techno tick that burrows into your brain with its rapid, pincer-like drums and thumping kick. on the flip its fellow ear-bug, no turning back, flows with an almost laid-back and effortless groove. a perfect pair from mr. lio.

argentina has a rich history when it comes to dance music and gonzalo solimano is one of the countrys finest electronic flag-bearers. with his unlock recordings imprint he has created a heavy back-catalogue that the likes of barem, guti, luca m and daniel sanchez have all contributed to. after a short break solimano is back with his *factor h* ep and the original mix is a tropical, cow bell laden treat, one that sums up the nation’s sound nicely. on remix duty is both fase and fellow argentinian maestro guti. the producers last full-length was the jazz-inspired *rompecorazones* and now a remix lp is set to follow but here we focus on his amazing edit of *factor h*. guti has maintained the percussive elements of the original but added a significant amount of groove and focused on adding in thick kick drums and more drive. it is one you can imagine on the terraces or at 4am in a darkened room and this is why guti is such a don. pressing on green marbled vinyl)

office 04 circles in memories: the record is about johannes * iron curtis* palukas time at karl-marx-straße berlin where he used to live next door to label head baaz and graphic designer chris fladung. a1 track * magnet* is an ecstatic piece of house music holding all elements ics production is esteemed and loved for : heavy, unrelenting kicks, rolling bass lines, shimmering pads, topped with searing hot yet gamelan-like synts and an icing of slightly loose, detuned organ stabs predesting grand emotions on any dance floor. * what happened happened* surely marks up as another proof of curtis fearless takes on house music: distorted field recordings and blurred spoken words, a web of gossamer melodies and subtle clicks and cuts, all cohered by the louche bassline and the reshuffled groove in a true dilla-ish vein. adapting elements to their own agenda, clandestine groove explorers berg turn * what happened* into a true midnight roller: razor-sharp hihitas join forces with a steam-maschine like percussion, whipping relentlessly in-between kick drum and kick drum. berg cools off their take with prancing melody motifs and strung out pads of the original track, though never loosing focus of the * reductions* aim: keep the dancer dancing.

early support from raresh, fred p. julietta, dana ruh!! after a first year of spellbinding releases, sol asylum returns in 2015 with a fresh various artist’s compilation featuring three finely crafted tracks from the sol asylum crew to kick-start the labels second year. bringing together a family of artists who have been there since the very beginning. starting off with the odd boys danny and damian, we go all the way back to the first release with a brand new remix of broken spell. whisking us away to a parallel universe of this odyssey, this remix is masterly conjured into a percussive exploration of the planet of odd. following the odd ones, julie marghilano unleashes another side of sol asylum with dragon drops. she unveils her known atmospheric soundscapes but with a heavily detailed rhythmic twist, made by experimenting with her field recordings to create a more stripped down sound that shows her range and versatility. last but certainly not least, miss jools calima brings the ep to a triumphant closure like a mystical fog. the elements of the track melt into drowning synths with crackling percussion and the elegantly designed grooves that levitate us steadily through the hypnotic melodies. the percussive strength of each track, while still being diverse links this collaboration of like-minded family members together as a cohesive potion.

victor calderone has stepped up for his first solo release on drumcode with his two track single, burden. featuring two energetic tracks, *skin* and *burden*, victor has used effected vocals to create funky rhythms over the top of some steaming kick drums. the synth stabs lend themselves well across this ep particularly in *burden* where they really augment the flow of the track. the use of percussion phrases throughout both tracks on the single also reinforces the grooves and adds character to create a distinctive sound that keeps the single fresh and exciting.

herman primes debut 12inch, maajo is a beautiful ode to spring and new birth. maajo pays homage to nigerian music, with its borrowed vocals from juju styles king sunny ade. the track has a house foundation, which shows in its fat kick drums and sub bass groove, while the hypnotic rhodes melody harkens to early minimal electronic pioneers such as manuel göttsching.

recent output has seen dorisburg pushing into deeper realms. computer drumming are some further steps in these explorations of 4/4 rhythms and acoustic depth. with a wide range in tempo, the track titles offers aid for the venturous. a1 is a reduced jam of echoing percussion that never sees the entry of a kick drum. a2 compensates with bouncing bass and a playful array of drumming elements entering and dropping off in a bold tempo. exiting on a more well established pulse, the b side consists of the deepest and most mysterious offering from dorisburg to date. distant bells and chimes and a grand formation of percussion meets thundering bass in an encounter set on vast grounds.

plenaque: heavy focus on the bass from the get-go sets the platform for a muffled kick drum to evoke a sense of impending danger. accompanied by effective synth layers the track bounces to a shuddering alien/deep marine sound, reminiscent of the productions dvs1 is known for. support by: seth troxler, stacey pullen, agoria, nick warren, dubfire

currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.

12 releases strong already, a:rpia:r has been silent for the last 2 years, since petre inspirescu’s gradina onirica hit the shelves of your favourite record shop. it is now raresh’s turn to release something special and indeed he did. vivaltu is an old gem, a subtle uplifting track driven by a powerful resonator, perfect for that “special moment”. the male mumbling voices provide the track with that extra eclectic feel. this is in fact raresh’s only track on vivaltu ep, the rest are remixes. side b presents a minimal house interpretation remix by none other than chilean legend and friend, ricardo villalobos. the resonator is still here but in come some childish voices to make it all perfect. perfect for the dancefloor. side c brings forward another member of the a:rpia:r family, none other than contemporary wizard petre inspirescu. his take has a very cinematic approach, building and building for 4 minutes before the kick even starts. the rich percussive atmosphere is completed with a brilliant melody reminiscent of his classical experiments. this track is an absolute masterpiece ! aloe varu is the third chosen for this remix pack and indeed he was chosen wise. his stripped down remix spans for 13 minutes and completes the story of a:rpia:r 13.
