TRAIN OF THOUGHT (2LP)
2x12 Inch
17.09.07
train of thought is not only significant for being the latest album by detroit legend terrence dixon but for being yores premiere full length release. the albums tracks range from 80s sounding cybotron like excursions to raw, stripped down techno and warm, chord driven house alike tunes. the double vinyl set includes rapturous settings of synthetic sound and swinging cuts whose burbling keys, pounding kick drums, and brisk hi hats evoke the brilliant sheen of detroit techno. though his music may invite comparison to drexicya and atkins, dixons music often imitated but never duplicated ultimately stands alone.

12 Inch
27.07.07
lovely slice of deep vocal heaven here starting with an afro brazilian flavored guitar intro and gentle beat with a subtle kick that slides into some extra warm synths and the baduesque vocal by zansika that sets the tone, polish all the way. incredible break about two thirds the way through that gets quiet and takes a moment for just the beat, echoing vocal and dizzying synths that should mesmerise the floor. b side dub strips the track down to its essence exposing all its elements to let us see what makes it work so well

BABY SHOW UP
12 Inch
06.07.07
>baby show up< shows olivers strength in crafting a vivacious floor-rocking beat, with a deeply cavernous kick and sharp stabs forming the groove before simply gripping synth melody gives the track a sparsely wistful atmosphere. as the bass bounces the track along, a precisely executed break leaves no doubt as to the peak-time quality inherent in this production. >baby show up – elegant universe remix< demonstrates the appropriate name of these young remixers, with a track that falls nothing short of a nearmasterpiece. textured melodic soundscapes float gently over an entrancing and slowly lumbering bass-kick combo, purveying a level of passion rarely found in such a graceful piece

SLAP BACK EP
12 Inch
03.07.07
the a-side, >slap back< is a peak time, funk packed rave destroyer with all the right moves. shuffled grooves, doubled kick drums, slick edits and a monster hook equals a prime time bomb. tried tested and true, this cut is sure to raise the roof. >fridge funk< takes things slightly deeper on the b-side but follows suit to >slap back<. in its ability to peak and burn a dancefloor. layers of swinging percussion build up to a deep melody that breathes and filters up to the essence of funk, purely expressed in the monster bassline. to cut it short, this selection is simply massive and is sure to be part of your soundtrack to many a summer night sessions . dj support by tom clark, jeff milligan, laurent garnier
BITCH FUCK / AIR RAID / ONE MACHINE / WO

02.07.07
a truly unique sounding record, which is winning favor with timo mass, ricardo villalobos & richie hawtin already. also included is >one machine< by the us s thomas gibbins (aka twf). his track is quirky as hell but with a more tough kick drum. also featured is the perverted tech house track >air raid< by nicholas wills. finally we have the machine like warbles of viggossons >wowowo<. this is denmarks most requested ep at the moment & its easy to see why!!

RUNNER EP

28.06.07
you might not think youre familiar with kramer, but chances are youve heard his music before. better known as larrson, the berlin-based dj/producer has released a series of acclaimed 12inchs on esteemed labels like traum schallplatten and bpitch control. he now adopts the kramer guise to deliver a 3-track ep of smart electroinfluenced and minimal house on berlins get physical. kramers first forays into music were as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, it was hearing bpitch boss ellen allien dj for the first time that inspired him to make and play electronic music. his rock/funk prehistory is subtly apparent in the eps a1, >runner<, which begins with a warm, rounded kick and busy, clicking percussion before urgent hi-hats and a hard snare sound take over and aim the tune squarely at the dancefloor. the centrepiece of the track, though, is a synth riff that summons a taste of vintage electro, while sounding purely 2007

incl massi dl remix !! renato figoli (lo-fi stereo, gumption recordings, trapez) opens the cut restrainedly with bleepy burblings, the kick drum pattern subtly intensifies until, two-minutes in, a pulsating bass line transforms the track into a surging club-house banger. figoli keeps things interesting by incrementally adding fragmented voice snippets that slip comfortably into the groove and by exploiting tension and release with well-timed dropouts and breakdowns. on the b side, massi dl (safari electronique, frankie rec) eschews buildups altogether, opting to leap from the gate with a deep and infectious dance groove overlaid by voice fragments that resemble punctuating barks. acidy synth effects give the tune fleeting psychotropic character before the cut slams into gear with a massive groove

18.06.07
supportet by: stephan bodzin, monoroom, ziel 100, mijk van dijk, stephan hinz, wollion, christian fischer, andrea doria, greg churchill, gennaro rossi etc. with pepperjuice hamburg based duo nudisco are delivering a good example for this fact: minimal oriented drumming, short decays, modern groove and just enough sound to honour the harmonic background of music in general. piemont goes even further and created a straight minimal version that will surely please even the most credible djs around. for the collectors of deep tunes, ajowan sure is the right choice. crisp high percussions, subtle bass and a melody that wont leave your mind for a long time create an awesome mood on the floor. hypnotic, propulsive and igratiating it sure is a winner on the floor. stereofunk adds a remix that subjoins additional kick on top of the original idea. pumping compression and oldschool chords that remind you of the good old 90s but combined with the productions skills of nowadays itll burn down the house! you better be prepared!

in the a side, undo & vicknoise, the masterminds of the label deliver their most tense and baroque track ever. to the simple kick-snare of the beginning they add progressively a distorted and powerful bassline, and omnipresent xylophone and some sub-aquatic melodies factor city school that will give you the creeps. sistema and his other self in full-moon nights, show in >te tazas< its best-known face: dark and epic tunes with a slight taste of 90s sound. hands up for mister coromina with >dancing and confused< he delivers what will be a sure hit forgetting the sound we were used to listen in his productions alongside undo. as you hear the track and its persistent jaw-dropping bassline, the best productions of carl craig and Âme will pop up to your mind showing clear influences of the new generation house music. youll dance more than c3po in a gargantuan spin-dry machine !! supported by: laurent garnier, funk d void, kiki, the youngsters, stefan goldmann, donato dozzy, mathias kaden, sian, glimpse, jesse somfay, karotte and angel molina

jay west and christian mallloni have joined together to create a hybrid filter funk sound all of their own. the original reaks havoc on the dance floor creating serious synth sweeps and bass drops to keep this track versatile and improvisational throughout. the vocal sample quirky as it is rings in your head while the percussive rhythm and killer bassline dri this piece home. nightshift boss man hipp e steps up for the b side with a new style and brings down the house. extended peak time mix here with big synth rides, crispy rhythm and big kick. wicked breakdown riddled with bits from the original and ever expanding sonic modulation takes this cut to the limit

GEMINI EP
12 Inch
30.03.07
almost twelve months after delivering the gastronomic delight that was sugar slow, foundation man gerry o rourke returns with the astrologically astounding gemini ep a joint tribute to adam goldstone and simon freaked brant both of whom sadly left this planet last year. appropriately enough, we kick things off with a track cunningly entitled on an esoteric, minimal techno/house joint with shades of dubstep adding to the slightly ominous feel. we then lift the mood slightly for the quirky, retro, synth heavy techno inspired house of the title track, before bringing things bang up to date with the furiously futuristic rapid recal, and then rounding things off with the veritably funky raze dilemma. a worthy homage and another fine package from the foundation camp

16.01.07
after his dessous debut >bona fide< in spring 2006 st. sebastian aka gamal sebastian kaba returns with a new two-tracker. on >genetics< the young talent from manchester perfectly manages to produce stripped down and dark techhouse tunes. both tracks spread a rather dark atmosphere with their vocal samples and an elaborate choice of sounds set in the right spots, but still manage to make the hips shake. the title track >genetics< convinces with a sparse but very effective build up with synthie stabs and a wafting bassline. just as well and cleverly arranged is >backwardsman< on the flipside. the mumbled vocal sample and some spooky laughter hide in the dark behind a punchy kick, a deep deep bassline and some strange chords which make this the perfect soundtrack for your techy ghost train
WET N DRY EP
12 Inch
16.01.07
poker flat labelhead steve bug returns with a new 12inch, >wet n dry<. >wet< on the a-side kicks off with a punchy kick n shakers and a dark chord which sneaks up from behind and slowly makes your feet move, before the irresistably groovy bassline comes in and paves the way for a slow rising climax. very nice fresh n funky synths take the lead after the break. >dry< on the flip spreads a darker atmosphere with straight up textured cuts and acid reduced elements. synth stabs, a dry bassline and a manic melody sequence characterise the track and start to erupt after the middlepart and tighten the tension
