ltd one sided 10 300 copies only, first come first served! track taken from originals 4. when i was growing up, the only rock record in the house apart from the beatles was a christian rock record: straight talker by bristol band amaziah, my dad was a huge fan. my brother and i listened to it each day, as our matchbox ferraris traced intricate road networks on the patterned living room carpet. soon we knew every word, wah wah solo and squiggly synth noise off by heart. we loved it. and who could thought fifteen years later, while picking through piles of junk in the shed we found this forgotten treasure and searched for the owners and finally gave it a release on our label. so paul and jez, along with dave steel, derek elliott, richard grinter, phil williams, gerald davies and keith loring – and most of all my dad - this is for you.

support from andre rozzo, alex jones, so inagawa, jamie jones, matthew styles-harris, laurent garnier, steve lawler, nic fanciulli. luna records is a new uk based label from respected club promoter/ dj/ producer paul bowen, the man behind middlesbroughs infamous >riff raff< events. the label is set to release music from some pretty well established artists with an emphasis on stripped back chunky house music and in that vein the debut single sees the much hailed german producer chris lattner step up get the imprint firing in the right direction. lattner has been djing for the best part of two decades, initially gracing the decks at hannover techno parties before word of his talent spread, seeing him strike out to play across germany. he has hosted a radioshow for australias pulse radio, worked as a booking agent for lessizmore and has had releases on labels such as einmaleins musik and wba. his passion for electronic music has shone through in everything he has done and led him to produce some great records, to which can now be added the luna debut >memory<. this single release kicks off with lattners original of >memory<, a solid tech driven slice of house with heavily effected vocal samples and a simple floor shaking groove. this is understated underground house music at its best, deep chunky and highly effective. first of the two remixes comes from ex-peace division man justin drake, who builds on the vibe of the original, thickening out the drums and layering some heavy filters over the sythn stabs to great effect. a straightforward and highly effective arrangement provides everything that is needed in this excellent reworking. finally we have a remix from bearweasel, who have been providing choice cuts in house music over the last year via labels such as tsuba, supernature, bloop and murmur. for their >lazy dub< they take things back to basics and turn in a slab of deep and dubby house with an emphasis on razor sharp percussion and earth moving bass. this is a superb debut from a label that is sure to become a major fixture in 2010.

>seleccion natural< is a project made by the cream of spanish techno, this four part work has seen the light on different labels and now its time for warm up.
oscar mulero delivers the original parts and version for this tune, reworked and revisited by the rest of the partners in crime: christian wunsch, exium and reeko, each one giving their own vision on the noises made by oscar.
original mix kicks off with broken rhythms, crunchy and industrial like, with a heavy synth line approaching till sweeping drones and abstract textures bring to an epic breakdown that will sure destroy more than one bass speaker. another energetic piece of intelligent dance floor techno.
wunschs work is more direct and 4x4 based, taking the synth line from the original and adding detroit flavoured stabs and sharp claps to make a massive techno tool.
exium offers a completely different vision, using the drones and textures as starring, plus arpeggiated synths and baroque percussions fills the arrangement. energy is the word for this remake.
closing release reekos version recreate the spirit of the original, with broken drums again, using the synths on a clever way, extending the arrangement longer on an epic development till the bass drum comes in after 3 minutes of metallic madness. the ultimate release of a series on the most eclectic way. absolute quality.

mike minds only previous release, >acid machine<, has been tigas most played record since it was made. a full-time turbo employee, he has spent the past few years getting his brain around making techno, and continues to impress us with his output. his debut ep, >resonate<, is something of a departure for our label, and one we are very proud of.
its amazing to have this kind of music coming directly out of turbo hq, it nails a sound that we have always tried to cultivate. minimal without being boring, trippy without being predictable, unafraid of melody, and with just enough analog imperfection and warmth to it.
both of the remixers we chose represent different sounds in techno that have influenced mikes sound.

giorgio gigli is an italian minimal-trance maestro, an incredibly modern renaissance man who is also a trained sommelier.** he is rising in the ranks and catching up in profile to his occasional production partner, donato dozzy. hopefully we will have more of his tracks on turbo soon.

hobo is a fellow canadian best known for his excellent work on m¦nus. rumor has it, he borrowed richies quad-macro template file to finish the final version of this remix... whatever he did, his second effort came up huge, this mix is excellent.

a member of both matthew bowers total and sunroof! projects, he appeared on three of the latters albums before helping to form the hugely influential and prolific (over 40 releases) leeds-based drone/psych-rock outfit vibracathedral orchestra in 1998.
campbell left vco in 2006 to go solo as astral social club, under which moniker he has released a number of albums (on labels like vhf, important, qbico, textile) and an ever-increasing stream of self-released cdrs in alimited edition series of volumes (currently up to #19).
the three tracks here were recorded by campbell, john clyde-evans, paul walsh and spider stacy.

the second record >trapez 100 pt2< features a great dynamic track by dominik eulberg, and two remixes, one by break 3000 of oliver hackes legendary trapez track >der vampir von düsseldorf< and the other by the famous berlin duo format:b of florian meindls hit track >blast<. welcome back to the trapez world. dominik eulberg released stunning records on trapez in the past: >gasthof zum satten bass< was a huge hit and also >adler< createda waves of enthusiasm. with his exclusive track >ambivalent< for the trapez 100 release he refers to the days when techno was defined through its drive and enormous dynamic. >ambivalent< is exactly such a pounding driving track with a big synth joining in that creates joy and a great rush. mr eulberg was in a really good mood when he finished this track and we expect it to be played on many big raves. >der vampir von düsseldorf< (eng. the vampire from duesseldorf) is a legendary track, we released without any writing on the etiquette and just communicated by word. very few people knew that oliver hacke produced it and a lot of people like michael mayer and richi hawtin played the limited 12 inch a lot. now you get a very cool and fantastic, monumental, grinding remix by dirt crew records label owner break 3000. the format:b remix of florian meindls slammer >blast< is a winner. they manage to walk the fine line between techno and minimal by using sounds from mystery movies and funky beat patters, as well as slow down beats which create funky breaks and interludes that provide the original with a more trippy and rhythmic side.

the word >detroit< is one that is used far too often in todayÆs techno realm. it seems that as soon as someone puts a pad over the top of a 4x4 kick drum they have the right to file their music under >detroit techno<. soà when tracks like this arrive in your inbox with no accompanying information, well itÆs a breath of fresh air to say the least. these four tracks by new boy mick welch truly capture the essence of detroit, bringing to mind the classic works by derrick may, kenny larkin and even hints of influences a little closer to home, b12, redcell, kirk degiorgio and the rest of the applied rhythmic technology crew for example. highly recommended.

alex is back with his london home cinematic recordings - this time with a 4 track stormer! >north london cutz ep< is a homage to his inspirational north london neighborhood - where his infamous >rhythm tech< studio is based during the last couple of years - and he got it just right! he delivers a phat 4-tracker with plenty of moods to choose from!
on the a side >bellawatt< - a big room techno with a disco feel and a rumbling bassline on point with todays sound. a2 brings us >ductile< introducing a jackin chicago vibe with a more techno attitude on the beats and a pumping tribal groove on the subs. >this goes out to ron hardy he from chicago< belches the spoken word. funked up to the max! on the flip >route 277< is a warm tech house affair with a dub mood and a strong banging hihat beat and the last joint goes deep and techy with a hypnotic vocal and a haunting oriental melody, all summed up in a percussive jungle mood. overall a very strong and dj friendly release to stay in the box and a perfect follow up to alexs latest releases on arearemote, cecille and tuning spork earlier this year!

you can see it on the news: techno is back, but for those who never left, techno is not a word that comes and goes, techno are forward thinking sounds that you cannot do in one minute with some libraries and cheap software.this brand new release from our factory shows exactly how techno should be done properly, in the interpretation of kike pravda, eric krakeroy and label owner oscar mulero as a remixer.main track, >fear is the enemy< has a direct approach, clean and driving drum programming grows and grows helped by shuffled 909 hats, leaving room for a razor sharp synth line that opens and closes filter in the most dynamic way you can imagine. just a few elements put together wise. oscar reinvents the original in a very similar way, but slowing the vibe a bit, adding more percussive details and elonging the structure, again the sound is clear , punchy and hard, as you like it.closing release, >jaque a la reina< its a 21st century acid track, modern, sharp in sound and agressive in low end, concrete claps, metal hatz and driving synths makes this one the perfect compliment for this stunning release.

ultimately affected by this summer, remain records 007: cool water e.p. by axel karakasis aims at keeping the vibes high for the new season. this year has been exceptionally good for axel and remain records, so this release is more of a celebration signalling the third year of the label, which grows stronger by the day!this 3 track e.p. opens up with orisha on the main side, a spot on tune with a straight kick and minimal techno elements that gradually build up to embrace the main character sample. at its peak, the track makes an inspired transition into funky, laidback groove, where axel works mostly present day sounds with 90s intelligence! the second track on the side is a far cry from orisha, as let it roll does exactly that: it rolls! bassheavy throughout, it s an insane piece of work with smart cuts that give way to teasing loopy layers. this track is a burner for serious techno players!the title track on the remain side begins as a mishmash of dub groove, and a rolling bassline. midway, cool water has an extended cut that builds up with relentless sirens and its menacing bassline that seem endless. in a word: flawless!

seth troxlers panic, stop. repeat! ep brings together all facets of the young berlin-via-detroit producers notoriously brilliant/bizarre persona, offering two new tracks (and one house-y remix) of sweaty, ecstatic dance music with a dirty mind and a heart of gold. >panic, stop. repeat!< uses its titular command as a guiding principle, eroding its own immaculate facade through a series of anxious freakouts. the track rolls along like a freight train with aloose screw-designed for precision and speed, but with mechanical parts that constantly jiggle free and whiz off into the stratosphere. as a leathery kick drum and a wickedly simple two-note bassline keep the pace, >panic, stop. repeat!< takes a series of surreal detours involving an ekg machine, a ladys feverish coos, and one particularly old-school sci-fi synth. next up, troxler melds minds with matthew dear on the collaborative >hurt<, a sexy beast of a track featuring bone-dry drum machines, a huge lead tom-tom, and dears terrifyingly deep spoken-word musings. paco osunas remix of >panic, stop. repeat!< rounds out the ep with an exhilarating take on troxlers original, building a subversive house creeper around panics heavy-breathing leading lady.

diametric is a new glasgow based record label which aims to put the word underground back into electronic music and give back something special to the techno and electro community. the label is strictly vinyl only. each release will be very limited and packaged by hand to give the label a personal approach for all true underground techno heads out there that still appreciate the spirit of true techno and electro.
the first release is a dream come true project for us, as we are proud to present a 12 inch by detroit legend optic nerve aka keith tucker, part of the famous electro duo aux88. keith is recording under several monikers such as optic nerve, k-1 or alien fm since the very early nineties and has built his own unique style of electro and techno music out of detroit. the >reassimilation ep< showcases keith at his best, deep driving techno with that extra bit of funk that most of todays productions are missing. we are very sure these tracks will devastate the dancefloors.

this is driving epic banging body shaking techno with soul that reminds of the good old techno days married with sounds of today. a great crossover appear for tech trance and techno sets. just a word for each: simian: manic thunderous punkish techno with attitude, collider: cool rockish bassline and amazing atmosphere. tiburon: organ rave sounds used in it and the small melody playing that gives it a spicey edge. and finally the best: particle with the spanish guitar sample that drives along with a lovely break that adds to the tension of it. this can become an ibiza favorite and you can see people like r.rivera or h.cataneo playing it as well.

strut present the story of one of the most influential and revered labels emerging from new york in the late >70s and 80s<, ze records. after the late 70s punk and new wave explosion in new york, ze became a by-word for the anything-goes culture clashes that typified the big apple during the early 80s. formed by french art student michel esteban and british journalist michael zilkha, ze quickly created its own unique independent universe, signing artists as varied as alan vegas electronic postpunk pioneers suicide, trash disco queen cristina and maverick producer august darnell a.k.a. kid creole. with estebans sharp graphic eye leading the labels visual identity, ze hit the new york zeitgeist head on and became supremely hip û in 1982, the face magazine nominated it ôthe most fashionable label in the world.the labels early success led to a deal with chris blackwells island records, which gave zes releases worldwide exposure and brought worldwide fame to kid creole, was (not was) and more. over thirty years on and ze remains one of the great cult labels of its time. with this new compilation, strut takes a snapshot of the many weird and wonderful fusions that surfaced on its famous nyc cab-influenced yellow and black label. highlights include one of the earliest outings by was (not was), tell me that im dreaming, a disbelieving commentary on reagan-omics, bob blankÆs short-lived disco supergroup aural exciters and a larry levan mix of kid creoles biting parable about corruption in the caribbean, theres something wrong in paradise. other featured artists include ze label regulars cristina, bill laswells material, kookie french experimentalist lizzy mercier descloux, and camp disco-electro icons, les garcons.

this is what happens, the third release on the botanika label, is a story of two cities: tel-aviv, israel, represented on the a side by polar pair, and detroit, usa, represented by both atlantis, with a ferocious spoken word delivery, and mark flash, whose classic detroit soulful techno remix occupies the b side - both of whom hail from the underground resistance collective. the collaboration between polar pair and atlantis, the voice behind urãs classic transitions, came about after a meeting in tel aviv in spring 2007, and now the dubplate is creating serious club-buzz in the underground scenes of both cities, as in the ur related forums.
