When I was growing up, the only rock record in the house apart from the Beatles was a Christian rock record: Straight Talker by Bristol band Amaziah, my dad was a huge fan. My brother and I listened to it each day, as our Matchbox Ferraris traced intricate road networks on the patterned living room carpet. Soon we knew every word, wah wah solo and squiggly synth noise off by heart. We loved it. And who could thought fifteen years later, while picking through piles of junk in the shed we found this forgotten treasure and searched for the owners and finally gave it a release on our label. So Paul and Jez, along with Dave Steel, Derek Elliott, Richard Grinter, Phil Williams, Gerald Davies and Keith Loring – and most of all my Dad - this is for you.
