we fell in love with their album on trilogy tapes and after a coincidental (or not) meeting in brussels, our 29th release and first ever live album slowly took shape. recorded in the mythical london cafe oto in 2016, the outfit of julie normal and olivier demeaux explores a beautiful path of arrhythmic music, subaquatic sounds and celestial zones.

it was memorial day weekend 2016, and the sun shined bright over the detroit river. pontchartrain stepped up to the decks at the red bull stage at movement electronic music festival donning his infamous detroit vs. itself- t-shirt. his first song through the rane rotary mixer was a dubplate made specifically for his set: afterlife. its a brilliantly executed balearic daytime disco rework that warrants the praise of summer anthem that its earning. on the flip is pool an equally sunny slomo beatdown rework from blair french. it s a delightful blend of cerebral and soulful, and is finally getting a release after being originally championed by peter croce on his le mellotron paris set back in early 2018. this 7inch is pressed heavy and cut loud at 33.3 rpm with a normal non-dinked hole.

never underestimate the power of a good bassline. mark du mosch certainly doesn’t. this veteran from the harbor city of rotterdam let’s his vicious bass line creep up on you from behind on 202 ac ra. a dark and jacking club belter with clear chicago roots. the five track ep the heavens may be his debut on sohaso, du mosch has been releasing music for over fourteen years on a variety of respected underground labels, such as moustache, dekmantel and royal oak. his versatile style draws on sounds that evoke strong mental imagery and a sense of eternity, which clearly shows on the introspective resonance delay (she) on the b-side. in which a melancholic melody is supported by muffled slow motion beats. the beautiful artwork on the heavens ep is by joost stokhof, an amsterdam based graphic designer who is known for his love for detail. which makes him perfectly suited for du mosch’ subtle and well crafted dance tunes. in a normal world you would open your ep with the title track. du mosch chooses to close with it. the heavens stays true to it’s name. a harp like melody that washes ashore as foam from a greyblue northsea that calmed down after the storm. heaven indeed

monotone is back on wax! after almost 10 years since we have seen a monotone vinyl release, the return is strong. monotone boss larry mccormick comes with a 6 track mini album with straight up pure electro goodness. the follow up to his album on shipwrec entitled intelectro, larry mccormick aka exzakt offers us a more puristic electro sound that he is known for. kicked off by show the way we get that vintage exzakt sound with crisp 909/808 layed kicks, one step ahead goes the more melodic route but still keeps the beat moving. move because i said so is a fun and funky classic electro sound. creator. vibes are massive on this riding melodic jam. eyes on me is a journey, an atmospere with trancy keys and subsonic pads. magic city is a bit of a departure from the normal sound yet still retains the low end.
