DRIVER EP
12 Inch
02.08.12
a little over a year ago, benny grauer released the single >moog phunk< on his label deep circus. after a few remixes and own productions for labels such as blu fin and circle music, the label owner himself is now back with another release on deep circus. >driver ep< is the name of the publishment, featuring two deep tracks which are right on time for this years open-air season. while >mellow drive< being a song building up more and more during its course, letting you dance into dawn with its driving groove, the second track >endless morning< comes along a little bit more rough. with a crispy bassdrum, dark sounds and the flogging hihats, this number wont release anyone from the dancefloor too early. enjoy!

local talk is proud to present the first release on their sub-label 1nce again. this is where we bring back classic and forgotten house gems from back in the day with new mixes and reworks. with the second release on local talks reissue sub label, 1nce again we bring back one of our personal underground favourites from the golden age of house music (the early 90s). back in 1994 mateo & matos released an ep on black label records entitled raw elements, which included an amazing cut called >maw basics<. its one of those raw 90s house jams that got the house bump but without the pump, its rough and funky but still deep if you know what we mean? no cheese in sight! together with the original track (now fully re-mastered) we also asked gerd (4lux, ny stomp) to make a remix that would stay true to the original but still bring it to the next level. the result is absolutely amazing and we are pretty confident that this baby will deliver knock out punches every time it blasts through a massive sound system in a proper club.

NEVER SAY GOODBYE (WHITE VINYL)
Coloured 12 Inch
22.05.12
bimas is a perfect proof that fresh and highly effective club music doesnt need much more than a free, creative approach and a good sense for igniting grooves. his desolat x debut comes strong with a versatile three-tracker, consisting of the rough-edged primetime tool never say goodbye, the charming groover post the music - both highlights in loco dice sets of the past months - as well as the tribalistic pain of our life. ex-phonica member hector, who caused some serious euphoria on house floors worldwide with his latest productions on saved, mobilee, nrk, tsuba and 2020vision, rounds the ep with a remix, stripping down pain of our life and giving it a moody and hypnotic outfit.
FARBWERK EP
12 Inch
18.05.12
played and supported by norman nodge, samuli kemppi, inigo kennedy, samuel l session, colin dale, dvs1, developer, alan fitzpatrick, cassegrain, markus suckut, phil kieran, max_m and more. darkcell shows the new release on vinyl, just the third for his own label. his style is clearly defined. one track signed by the labels owner, and others two tracks signed myk derill (reform, knotweed, etc). darkcell transmitted in its track an atmosphere of modern techno. a slow techno rhythm, repetitive with something of psychedelic. a sort of brainwashing that will lead to total body hypnosis. the two tracks by myk derill are the same style. the first track (apply) is definitely very rough with a syncopated rhythm . the second (contemporary) is much more in the direction of dub-techno. only high quality in the fluxus records vinyl.
ESOTERIC CARNAVAL

18.05.12
it is with great honour that in paradisum welcome sometime border community and traum schallplatten artist ricardo tobar into the label for the fourth chapter in our fledgling story. the esoteric/carnaval ep reveals four tracks that further showcase the chilean producers unerring grasp for electronic music that combines moments of introspection with the unshakeable urge to lose yourself in the moment.
tobar is extending this plunge towards all new uncompromising techno territory from various, equally engrossing angles. pitch the rough hewn mutant beat dance of >esoteric< next to fizzing, acid tainted textures of >recuerdos< or the grinding journey through dantes inferno that is >carnaval< and its easy to see why tobar has been accommodated into the in paradisum fold.

17.04.12
edits may be dead, but just when your elitist attitude comes to a head and you think you re on top of your game, there will always be someone deeper, faster and still motivated enough to rekindle your digging desires. where blackdisco volume 10 saw the return of lovefingers and nitedog, volume xi pushes forward into new territory (and with a new aesthetic) by welcoming a group of three deep diggers who shun musical trends and their inherent fakers. dea, albion & spacelex combine their vinyl-mining efforts to unearth some real diamonds from the rough. deas cut malaka is a floater with a funky sailboat vibe, while his complimentary cut taubat takes the tired jungle disco vibe to new level with its triumphant synth-led chorus, an absolute stunner that could be extended for 20 minutes. on the flip, albion spoons water over the coals, steaming up the joint with an uptempo percussion bomb as if santana had a disco secret, and spacelex rides us out with a sexy rock groove complete with mysterious male voiceover, almost as if someone lowered the volume to whisper in your ear.

straight japanese killer techno !!! tight, mechanical and brutal with an underlying funk, snow monkeys is the sort of multi-faceted beast that kobayashi is known for. the rough edges are allowerd full space to create tension but the track is tempered with some brilliant, shimmering and evocative melodies that slide into the mix for just the right amount of time before subsiding into the churning groove. one of the new school of japanese techno producer, a.mochi delivers a well pitched, moody version on the flip. pacey yet measured in its progression its a version that takes the originals tension to new levels and wont be a surprise for anyone who has heard his productions / remixes for the likes of figure, cocoon and a-wave. hideo kobayashi is one of the few producers who can skip from deep or vocal house though to searing techno with ease and snow monkeys is a perfect example of what he can do when it comes ot the tougher sounds

profound audio is back at it with a smashing new 12inch from monstar - and its one of many to come from this quickly rising talent. following up his devastating debut single, put ya hands up, monstar constructs two bangers of epic proportions. both harder & bastard have been inflicting massive damage in the dance and are currently receiving heavy club & radio support from some of the top taste-makers in the game. leading off the single, monstar delivers an anthem of a track that does exactly what it says on the tin. harder encompasses xxx female vocals, heavy-hitting drums and roller coaster-style, fluctuating basslines with enough sub to have your brain shaking inside your skull - what more could you ask for? a peak-time, dancefloor destroyer thats guaranteed to send the crowd into a frenzy! on the flip, he shows no mercy once again with bastard, a full-force, tearout dubstep number that will undoubtedly shred your bassbins into pieces. battering drums roll over ferocious, wobbling bassline combinations that fire at you in hyper-speed, leaving you no choice but to brock wild! this one is absolutely rough!

>vintage violence< is john cales first post-velvet underground album and was originally released in 1970. cales signature sound with the velvets was purposefully rough and aurally challenging, but >vintage violence< is a startlingly user-friendly piece of mature, intelligent pop with a smooth, satin finish.
the welsh rocker shows a pop craftsman at work on ten tracks that reference everything from country rock to beach boys harmonies to the band-style americana and beyond.

great 12 inch featuring two superb rarities from renowned disco label sound of new york. run by legendary producer peter brown, this small harlem-based imprint garnered a massive reputation in the late 70s and early 80s turning out some of the best disco tracks ever made. first up here is ny disco funk favourite >dance freak< from chain reaction. produced by peter brown himself, this is pure dancefloor dynamite, as raw and funky as it gets with pumping horns, grinding bass, wild percussion and crazy synths building steadily to a high-octane blistering dancefloor freakout! on the flip is the equally fantastic >shout at the disco< from little scotty, another relentless rough grooving jam, also produced by the prolific mr b. with both these tracks super-expensive and extremely hard to find in the original, don t miss this chance to get your copy!
OUT OF FIRE EP (XHIN / SPLATTER RMXS)

21.02.12
breaking-through in berlin is not an easy task and that is exactly what mike wall, the latest artist to join the hidden recordings family is doing with a remarkable release showcasing the versatility, artistry and pure soul that goes into making music for the big room. mikes talent first came to hidden recordings with his darker, jacking rendition of 014hr m.a.d.a. + planktons >antiz<. additionally, his inventive, high octane jams have found themselves on such high profile labels such as sleaze, on and on and pluseins. additional firepower enlisted for thre release comes two men who we deeply admire. the first is somebody who is making us re-think the boundaries of techno, the elusive and mysterious xhin from stroboscopic artefacts and clr. the second comes from splatter, with his evil and dark chugging glitched out trade-mark sound that will tear up danceflooors and leave you shaking in all the right ways. the combination of the originals and remixes will also be getting the deluxe vinyl treatment that followers of hidden recordings have come to expect – watch for it in february. we are proud and excited to share this one with you as we believe mike wall is a diamond in the rough. use these wisely to get your dance-floor moving and feedback is encouraged and welcome.
>aspen< is the name of christian loefflers single before his debut album on ki called >a forest<. the name of the single is not to be misunderstood as a dedication to the ski resort in colorado. its rather a dedication to christian loefflers home region in the north of germany. loeffler walked out into the forests near darss, to take field recordings of the trees that commonly grow in that area, which are called >aspen<. the landscape near darss is characterized by signs of storm and rough sea climate, but is also considered as a popular health resort in germany. the tracks on >aspen< create this contrary atmosphere: noise and silence, destruction and peacefulness, electronic sounds and traditional instruments unite in harmony. the cover artwork for >aspen< was taken by christian loeffler himself in the forests of darss.

juan atkins returns to r&s on a model 500 solo mission. the last model 500 single enlisted the help of the live line up that includes detroit techno royalty mike banks and ur alumni mark taylor, but this latest release is just juan in the studio and back at his best. >control< is vintage model 500, the classic electro that atkins pretty much invented, with his treated vocals riding over the crisp rhythm programming, dark basslines and detroit synths. >the messenger< on the flip is a moodier affair, with the liquid synths almost running away with themselves over the rough beats. model 500 and r&s has proved to have been a classic combination over the years and this release is one to file next to the classics.

the original horsemen concept was initially conceived by 4 minds coming together through one unifying vision. those minds were of: ink, loxy, keaton and dylan. carving out their own unique take on drum & bass. fusing together specific elements that would form the fundamental cornerstones of the horsemen sound: raw original sampled breaks, heavy sub bass and dub elements. this style and concept has since seeped into the consciousness of a new wave of producers across the globe and has influenced and evolved into the sonics presented here on this album. ink and loxy in conjunction with renegade hardware are proud to present: horsementality...
dj support: ink, loxy, cern, marky, alix perez, spy, btk, optiv, sabre, bailey (1xtra) , flight (rinse fm) + many more.

HYPNOSIS EP (WALTON REMIX)
12 Inch
05.12.11
lb003 arrives courtesy of bristol born, brighton based producer sam kidel, aka el kid. following up his well received debut on immerse sam drops 3 tracks of wildly varied bass music. beginning with the title track >hypnosis<, lush ambient pads and plucked guitar soon give way to fearsome bass swells and metronomic percussion, coming across like early autechre remixed by floating points. second track >mud< drops the pace for a noisy house workout, reminiscent of fellow bristolians kowton, and labelmate vessel. >kachinja< on the flip is the straightest - and darkest - of the lot, a lurching warehouse techno cut that wouldnt sound out of place on ostgut ton. finally hyperdub wunderkid walton contributes a rough & ready funky dub of >hypnosis< to round out the ep.

15.11.11
ultraschall is an homage to the first big techno club in munich. the owners of harry klein were part of the old ultraschall, which has a unique legendary status nowa¬days. the older generation in particular often long for the good old days. yes those times shouldnt be forgotten, especially not in terms of sound, but its also important to move on and attempt new things. like supporting vinyl, going to a who¬lefood shop or ending war. ok that might sound like a bro¬ken record, but how about spending less time on facebook and actually with your friends, cooking for your parents or organizing a break dance battle in your backyard? daniel takes us on a journey through the past and back to the future again. a charming mixture of laid-back grooves combined with some rough n ready rave moments make this a rapturous trip, no matter what time it is. track names are a really interesting element of music. some artists dont care about them at all and call their tracks a1 or something non-descript. yet many titles can be really funny, others made up words, and some corre¬spond to current events or times. some just really fit the sound. if you lose something, in general its a pretty nasty and unsettling feeling. but you have to deal with bad luck when it strikes. losing something can teach you an im¬portant lesson, or simply show you what it means to be unfortunate and down. not knowing the lows as well as the highs wont allow you to evaluate life very well. most important is to really feel and be yourself, despite the ups and downs.

out 26th of sept. mikkel metals new tartelet ep travels deep into the spectral voids of space. empyrean pads and raw drums reverberate in our ear meatus on cassini -soft kicks with shrill claps and a prodding bassline bringing back memories of mikkel metals earlier dubby excursions. phasing, relentless, and a favourite in the early hours of both the night and morning, cassini has everything needed to become a mainstay for all djs brave enough to venture beyond our known realms. mazurski, a galaxy of beaming details and radiant synthlines colour it deep, while the echoes of light gone by envelops the transient listener. following on the same side is the dub version (vinyl only), outlined by a scrapping kick, filtering sequences of sonic waveforms and abraded sub-basslines. all this rough beauty is fully submerged in a crystal pond of levitating strings and sparkling monotones. these cuts will transport you beyond, both in front of properly charged sound systems and laptop-powered earphones. referencing both the recently resurrected new age wave and the analogue power of london, mikkel metal has brought a completely new dimension to the tartelet universe, the quality is undeniable, the construction timeless and the foot-tapping ensured, so get floating.

killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

b-tracks, aka soren jahan & john barera release their debut ep on their new imprint. the two musicians and record collectors worked together to make >specialize<, a rolling house cut made for the dancefoor & road tested at their gigs. with >day to night<, they go deep with a warm and melodic tune that still makes you get up. their rough and ready production style continues to shine in house workout >jump on it<.
on the flip, >progress< is a relentless techno cut with a raw analog sound and a mind of its own. finishing off the record is >your love<, a climactic and synth driven track in the spirit of early electronic dance music.

supported by: tim toh, oskar offermann & edward, shaddy foul&sunk, boris hotton, andy weid, hunee,.. frank is back for another round. this time its frank music head poncho johannes delivering two heavy tracks for your dancefloor. we got a classic double-a side, personally stamped in a basement and limited as sunny days last summer. first there is >rough rough raw< ... well its rough and its rough and its sort of raw. dubby vocoders, 909, rave breaks, you name it! second is -way out of sight- which got a fuzzy bassline, little trance moments for maximum party pleasure and some more dirtness in between. this is most probably slammin muscle house for skinny jeans boys. to sum things up: basement is not a crime! our good friend tim says: a few days ago i listened to an old cassette from the year 2000. >roughroughraw< really contains the spirit of this time. the right tune to start taking some >e<s again, smoking a joint and gettin nuts on a tiny dirty dancefloor. underground ish for sure... and same for >way out of sight< especially the first chord of that synth, which reminds me on michael jacksons >thriller<. thank you and turn that swagger on!
