ELEPHANT ON SPEED

tbilisi? no, it’s not italian for >excuse me<, but the georgian hometown of our new 9volt family member. please heartily welcome mr. odilavadze, from labels like fvf, lazerslut or frontrec better known as lado! must be a really influencing lil place of earth, because the >elephant on speed< ep with its outstanding emotional bricks of pumping dark matter paints some heavy accents in the landscape of electronic music. go visit it and take an acoustic walk!
after having contributed a remix a few years ago, green are proud and excited to welcome deetron for what is his debut release with us.
whether its creating the deepest and most soulful of house, or the grandest of emotional techno. deetrons ability to craft exquisite, timeless pieces is second to none.
>deetron is not only a good friend, but also an amazing producer who keeps the detroit spirit alive in his music.< - joris voorn
on >collide< that detroit spirit is evident once more. a majestic track, thats power is held in its euphoric synth arpeggio, which builds constantly to its climax. >dark matter< on the flip is a bassheavy, almost steppin affair, with a darker atmosphere that is brightened temporarily by the lush pads in the break.

supported by ellen allien, konrad black, kiki, dop, andre galluzzi, dario zenker, dubfire, mikael stavostrand. yeah, finally the highly anticipated pherox ep on stock5 as arrived. everybody that worked on this knows how much hard work was needed to accomplish this epic feat. but what was the hold up? rumour as it that pherox aka tim querengaesser crossed the whole ruhrpottrainforest to find one of the weirdest bendiest organic house grooves that even a harden cadenzian wouldn’t be able to frown at.

chris is very happy that his long term friend adam beyer from sweden, who runs the drumcode and truesoul labels (as most of you may know), has contribute to the 10 year anniversary label compilation. chris said >he managed to give me an amazing track that i have already been playing up and down since probably the beginning of last summer<. you have to know that most of these tracks have been collected over a period of at least the last six months. this one from adam is called >antistius< not only is chris out for having international artists on this compilation but also his home base in frankfurt equally has some amazing artists to offer. this track on the b-side is by clr artist and mastering engineer brian sanhaji who has also recently released his album on the label. his contribution to 10 years of clr is pretty phat. this one is called >higgs< and chris had already been playing it, all over the place, with amazing responses.
WE ARE STRANGE LOOPS
12 Inch
10.05.10
this debut lp by innergaze is chock full of rugged hand played analog synths lines, primitive drum machines, haunting vocals, and psychic jewelry. call it synthwave, call it punk, call it metaphysical body music or at this juncture whatever one sees fit, but this duos music goes beyond naming names for the sake of it. from the freaky, unrelenting opener >no shame< to the chris & cosey-esque >la la la<, this record creates many aural worlds to inhabit and explore. the title track >we are strange loops< bubbles at a slow, hazy drug induced bpm, while >illusions<, with its distorted almost guitar-like synth lines and stripped down 808 programming, brings things right back to the dance floor. the ideas and feelings executed here are a direct outpouring of what happens when the machines are turned on, played and recorded.

huge 4-track ep by stormtrooper, showing the variety of styles he can produce. sweet poisonous lips takes you on a poisonous 10 minute journey through the sounds of industrial hardcore, techno and even electro. the track is definitely nonstandard and will also find its way to the more techno orientated floors. the 2nd track on the a-side tinning starts of a lot harder, but also realigns to the techno floors during the melodic electro break.the highlight on this ep is flight instinct on the b1, a hard, but atmospheric industrial crossover track with hard drum & bass elements. if youre into tracks like hells basement from outside agency, then this should be your choice.the b2 extreme body reactions is definitely the most freaky track of this ep with very cool and evil sounds.another must have for all the industrial heads out there!!

GARAGE IS BACK / GEDDES DUB
12 Inch
06.05.10
a lot has happened to blm since his last solo ep back in 2008, fatherhood being the main factor for his absence. thankfully the nappy changing musical magician didnt stop tinkering with his synths in that time has come back with a string of forthcoming productions that mark a real step up in quality for him. so, first up blm releases on home soil on his own fof label. garage is back keeps things silky smooth – simplicity is the key here, the percussive elements building slowly before the evocative vocal of suz brings a hypnotic sexyness to the whole affair. step to this is the logical progression from his last fof release (believe in love) with its skippy beats and uplifting stabs being a sure winner for the coming summer. mulletover promoter / dj / all around sexual dynamo geddes provides a rather splendid dub remix of garage is back on the flip. cleverly using key elements of the original to keep the flava but dipping the tempo to give it more of a groove based feel. we think its a high watermark for the man.. check it

the creative swing alliance consist of the 2 producers pablo valentino and steven-j. pablo is responsible for the faces records label & his recent subdivion called motor city drum ensemble. steven-j released records on compost records, soultronik & jazzmin and played double bass for the japanese jazz band >sleepwalker<. they both come from the city of strasbourg fr, shared turntables & droped parties for more than 10 years together. the concept for the csa project was very simple: they locked themselves for one week in pablos attic to work 7 days on 7 tracks all named after the days of the week. bonzzaj records selected for this 12inch their 3 favourite tracks: on >monday< pablo and steven-j created a heavy opener for their project. bumpy they riding their mpc with a deep diving bass and wonderful synths. simbad turned the original >monday< into a heavyweight soulful dancefloor filler mashed with good old west-london broken beats. an essential dj weapon! naturally within the week you can hear some different moods while other friends/artists where passing in the studio...for example on >thursday<, when kira neris joined the alliance to create a spaced-out and captivating disco journey with a wonderful soul sample. last but not least, >saturday<: dusty old jazz records and beat generation hip hop for the b-boys and b-girls! raw! strong stuff for fans of bullion, onra, the linkwood family, etc! limited edition... so you better watch out

we are proud to have discovered a new artist for traum who will boost the cinematic and electronic side of the label. the debut sees a sound evolving with thomas bjerring that is emotionally deep to the heart, masterfully produced and unique. the a-side >stratus< moves like fog over woods and landscapes. it is rich and mighty in texture but light as well. it is somehow detached and at the same time very touching... a master piece of techno.

naming your first release after your band is an auspicious way to introduce oneself, to say the least, but birds & souls have done just that-and the results more than live up to their sensational packaging. birds & souls lead single >birds & souls< (from the debut birds & souls ep on spectral sound) is an exuberant track built more for rock shows than dancefloors, charting a journey from giddy, congas-and-claves house to synth-drenched space disco to ecstatic arpeggiated bliss and back again.
who is maetrik and just how does he get his beats and bleeps to sound so good? we cant be the only ones asking this question as recently eric comes on a string of big hits for audiomatique and mothership. erics been banging out stormers of late, but with dumb-unit its different. here we do our typical du magic and present something a little bit slankier, a wee bit dirtier, and a tad more tripped out. something that dancers and freaks can equally get their head around, something that will blast through the sound systems straight through the summer! and so without further ado we suggest you dig in ... and get ready ...

the mole cooks up two slow burners for the warm northern nights. >nervous disid< emerges from somewhere between bobby konders and that old dance mania b-side you always want to play - but never have the nerve. thick fuzzy kicks, and jacked up toms - result in a heavy techno disco jam for the mixers and lovers.
>secret mummy< is a slo-mo romp into colins secret cookie factory, flavors are tough, fierce, and popping. 9 minutes of organico-inspired house music mixed with forgotten disco horns and old rusted cowbells.
the amazing situation return with two sides of love – gangster love and sutra love. the gangster side is an amazing clash of a skit from american gangster (heavily inspired by the eddy grant produced >funky like a train< by the equals) with donna summer. the resulting blend is as inspiring and surprising as it is unlikely. but with their usual disregard for boundaries and rules, situation seamlessly melt the two original cuts together into a perfect slice of discoid boogie that absolutely sets fire to the dancefloor. on the flip side, love of a deeper and groovier type oozes from sutra love. its a case of yet more top class, bass led disco action thats firmly focussed on maximum dancefloor reaction. this is without a doubt one of the best situations ever! and with heavy releases on disco deviance and their own imprint already under the belt that really is saying something.

aniligital music is back at it with anthony mansfield and tal m. klein and their evil ways! building upon the successes of their previous collaborations, the villainous duo raises the stakes and take things deeper with this enigmatically titled three tracker. ciento ocho is spanish for 108, the tempo of the first track on the ep. a creepy crawly builder with 8-bit roots that culminate in a huge funk breakdown with an insidious bass hook (if you have any doubt, just fast forward 3 minutes into the track) next up is desayuno en timpanis which we think means breakfast at timpanis in spanish. needless to say this ones heavy on the percussive elements, including of course lots and lots of timpani drums. desayuno en timpanis gets going pretty quickly and doesnt let up. check the flanged upright bass breakdown for extra bigness! purely non-stop huge sound system busting dancefloor action. speaking of floor fillers, have we shown you our tiger bomb? bomba de tigre is the definitely the deepest track on the ep, but lest anthony and tal rest on the laurels of their 808 kicks and 303 basslines, this tigre is a stalking beast that explodes in a vicious classic house attack!

italys marco donnarumma indicated some of the potential of his kuoyah project with last aprils digital release for frijsfo, earning enthusiastic tips from the likes of boomkat. nonetheless, theres no doubt that his debut on wax ups the game ? even in the face of a mix from sully ? by applying a focus capable of working magic in 2010s open-ended dubstep dance. its an overused comparison that probably deserves to be buried, but angel dub does reek of horsepower productions, or more precisely the ducking 2-step and basic channel steals of benny ills classic tempa ep with hatcha.

truly beautiful deep house records are things to be treasured, akin to proper songs that will last the test of time, not made to meet a fleeting fad. this is one of those records and a real pinnacle & departure for blm & pawas. although the term deep is an oft overused one, >waiting game< personifies the genres true key traits with a subtly moving groove that gradually builds, using layers of subtle percussion and a rich, warm synth motif to make a rich tapestry of sounds before finally introducing the beautiful female vocal that gives the track its name. patrice scott liked the track so much that he agreed to remix it - his first ever outside of his own, excellent, sistrum label. using plenty of the original track parts but taking it a different direction, patrice really has come up with something special. the track moves along with snippets of the main vocal and clever use of the main synth, the groove being underpinned by patrice s classic sense of production before moving into a more classic >detroit< ending - a mindset with a bigger, more dramatic sensibility
some seriously hot disco influenced house tracks by portugese producer lump who joined the amplified orchestra alliance. maybe not one of the labels that has been one everyones tongue and in the hype press due the no promotion, no-nonsens policy. but the real connaisseurs most definitely have it in check! 3 disco-induced house and deep house tunes with a gospel-blues twist. irresistable grooves again, and this is gonna be sold out quickly just like all the previous aos. dont miss!
