demdike stare return to the lab with two extended new productions, inaugurating a series of untamed releases brought together under the testpressing banner. collision was recorded in late 2012 and is pretty much unlike anything you will have heard from demdike before, an intense high-frequency re-arrangement of jungle and noise, like a more brutal variant of the demdike-affiliated hate project, fed through a bank of analogue boxes and pedals, left to spin uncontrollably for 10 minutes before fading to black. misappropriation on the flip feeds off a different noise altogether, perched precariously between the mangled percussion you would most commonly associate with muslimgauze and the metallic clank of industry, a proper sunstroke riddim: angry and unforgiving.

your mamas friend continues to build itself a healthy reputation as purveyors of modern sounding house and tech that likes to do things on its own terms. of course, it is all down to the leadership of marcin czubala who here serves up an ep of his own for the label, complete with remix from leeds lads audiojack, which will see 250 copies released on limited transparent red, smokey marbled vinyl.

26 year old julien perez was the former frontman of french band adam kesher (2007 - 2011). he writes and sings now in french. his songs are urban, ethereal, nocturnal soundscapes, infused with a sweaty variete touch. the way he builds his tracks is tense and sensual, reminding of christophe and la perversita lyrics, as much as of border community label and invisible conga people productions. perez will release his first ep in february 2013 on dirty. it has been produced by pilooski (discodeine, tristesse contemporaine), already supported by laurent garnier and tim sweeney.
