vent is receiving another dose from enfant terrible cindy, and it’s just like the relief of the hair of the dog that bit you. relentless and distorted, cindy weaves hypnotic spells of repetition, reminiscent of basement hardcore, punk and no-wave influences. seldom has one heard such artistry using solely a 909 hihat. to round the package of, rebekah adds her take on the aesthetic and holds nothing back.

limited to 100 copies, chas burns has been producing house music since 96, originally with engineer simon vinyl junkie, and later andrew macari (filter flow). as well as producing under flow he also co-owns low pressings (with hernan cerbello), beat code, boxa records and more devotion (with ben racz). -put my shit on wax- first appeared on the shelves of record stores in 2004. it s release was boxa records (which is still going today) second release. the original press was of 600 and was out of stock very quickly. now you ll need to pay l50 for it on discogs, unless you snap up this highly limited repress (100 copies only - be quick!).

record store day 2016 rules apply due to the overwhelming love for the dj slugo remixes that were included in the 2016 repress of nina kraviz debut lp rekids will officially release a limited edition 7” for rsd. the remixes come from the chicago’s ghetto house legend and dance mania hero dj slugo and nina has been championing these juke mixes around the world.

for their first record store day vinyl, duskys 17 steps unveil a much requested club cut from the label bosses themselves in buckets. a dark, murky groover full of heaving basslines, swampy beats and cut-up soul vocals, buckets has been popping up in dusky mixes for a couple of years, earning it cult status amongst their hardcore following and making it a perfect choice for a limited collectors vinyl. it comes backed with a twisted two-step remix from swamp 81s paleman.

following on from their hard hitting previous release quarantine , east london s phil passera & chieka ononye deliver their 4th release as payfone on new york s golf channel recordings. a side catholic central emerges from a dark street corner to bloom into a moody synth and bass heavy rhythm, before colliding with a disco riff that could have easily been borrowed from the master tapes of late 1970 s atlanta outfit brick. featuring the vocal style of argentinian pia gonzalez antar, who in confession recalls the dark dynamic of a relationship with a previous lover many years her senior. the room shaking b side comes courtesy of d marc cantu s haze mix that delivers a pounding late night electronic soul voyage. cantu has been releasing genre defying records since the late 2000 s, and performs as one third of jakbeat super group x2 alongside traxx & jtc.  golf channel every time !

mike ash returns to super rhythm trax after providing the very first release and gives us 4 authentic and acidic warehouse smashers. mike ash may be familiar from early releases on moving shadow and rising high records under a variety of pseudonyms in the early 90s but in the last 10 years has become synonymous with releasing mind blowing and true electro under his own name. when he turns his hand to acid house, the results mirror the high quality and his no nonsense approach shines through having lived and breathed the music and culture back when it was exploding in the late 80s and early 90s. in his own words i tried to keep with the original 1988/1989 vibe. i didnt use any synths / sounds / samples that weren t available past 1990. its all juno / sh-101 / 303 / jupiter / 808 / 909 / 707 / 606 and samples from the beats breaks & scratches vol 1&2inch the tracks exude a raw and strangled soul and are a bold and comfortingly honest take on the warehouse and pirate radio sound of the uk.

concepts and ideas come fast and furious to berlin trio brandt brauer frick. having turned heads from the groups inception with their classically-informed approach to creating techno compositions with acoustic instruments, bbfs output has been characterized by a restless creativity. the search for new sonic territory lead the group to record with a full 13-piece orchestra, and later to strip down their sound to sparse arrangements featuring more electronic textures, and to record an aggressively diverse dj-kicks mix on a legendary club sound system using only vinyl dubplates

repress 2016 - the king of afrobeat is reinterpreted by the uks lodger. true sunshine music just in time for summer! for the third in the stamp series, we turn our attention to west-africa and the black president himself. englands lodger has crafted two superb reinterpretations that are part edit, part remix and all parts dancefloor dynamite. odoo and afro cuts may be instantly recognisable yet they are cunningly extended, subtly tweaked in all the right places and most importantly retaining the source materials core, that inimitable nigerian funk. limited vinyl pressing - hand stamped.

next up on the gold standard tech house imprint that is roush, comes label boss himself, hector couto. on the parental advisory ep, the influential spaniard has readied four cuts of to-the-point club music that cannot fail to make its mark.

the motech label has been building a high reputation of late but it’s actually been three years since co-owner, detroit’s dj 3000 (franki juncaj) released a 12 inch of his own. putting that to rights, he delivers take me away, due for release in april and featuring a deadly remix by truncate. the original version of take me away is a deep and hypnotic builder with a relentless groove that stands astride detroit techno and tough house, a style that dj 3000 has championed over the years. truncate is the alias of audio injection (la’s david flores). his remix ups the tempo and adds an infectious vocal cut-up, turning take me away into a raw, hard-hitting cut. the truncate remix has already been picked up by eats everything for his new fabric mix, out soon, as well as receiving early support from dave clarke on his white noise radio show and ben sims on the october edition of run it red.

james k is a stranger to obviousness. over the past few years the new york native has quietly honed her sound and peculiar aesthetic. equally organic and electronic, her sound is a combination of odd dreams, industrial beats and vocals, both incomprehensible and appealing, with a thick layer of glitter on top of it. james k is a concentrated dose of emotion mixed with sorrowful iciness, which in turn ties together ripped, broken, morphed and enchanted samples. james k stands for a fusion of visual and sonic elements, deeply rooted in conscious art practice and downright freak-out. james k creates a mythology of her own. pet, her first lp due out in early 2016, will be a co-release with dial and her own label, she rocks!

after waiting for three years, jenifa mayanja has finally unleashed her new ep on swiss imprint deepartsounds the new ep features three original songs and a trinidadian deep remix of the song human nature. all tracks are well arranged that bound along with a smooth swathe of jazzy chords and pads over a technoid bassline. the songs take you on a space journey as a variety of cool beats and melodies creating a depth that is difficult to resist. once again jenifa delivers top quality, an attribute what makes her to one of the best female deep house producer

using the success of his album “swinger” as a door opener in america, mano meter has also grooved straight into the hearts of artists like parov stelar, simina grigoriu - paul kalkbrenner’s wife and alle farben. it was only a matter of time, to present his latest work from the studio. together with david gerlach, who’s kind of an wunderkind on the piano, he has produced a song called “polyphobia”. you’ll find a pearly, extremely fresh groove which has already influenced dancefloors from europe all the way to burning man! he finally had mercy with the ordinary music lovers and released this well kept secret to the public on vinyl and digital! it has been enhanced with remixes from der schmeisser & der tietz, das fachpersonal and nikolas noam.

sami baha is a young producer from istanbul, with his roots in the turkish hiphop scene, who has been stealthily pricking up ears with guest spots on rinse fm and nts since he moved to london last year. he started this ep ‘mavericks’ while he was in istanbul, saying “the music i produced became more chaotic as istanbul became a harsher place both politically and economically. i didn t really design it that way, but i feel like the sound got more aggressive over the years”. he describes his music as ‘instrumental trap‘, but instead of trap vocals there are complex arrangements, although he has started to work with vocalists while he’s been in the uk.

the spanish techno producer victor vera delivers the second vinyl & digital release on deep breath records. victor vera has published music on labels like intec digital, stereo productions, toolroom, trapez, pornographic recordings, kd music, deeperfect among others.....the original track from victor is -inner call-, the song has strong chords and background vocals making up a serious and compact techno track. miguel lobo (8 bit, moan, cecille, time has change) delivers the first remix with two versions of high quality groove. the second and last remix comes from deep breath & made off who have built a very personal & dark version from the original track -inner call-. the release has early support from: paco osuna, uglh, marco carola, ilario alicante, deltano, dan noel, antony pl, koma, battric & mivu, kevin rangel, matteo pitton, michael rosa & many more...

when kellerkind published his first tracks on sirion records in 2008, nobody ever considered the success story of marco biagini s alter ego. eight years later he looks back on numerous releases, among others on stil vor talent, flash, katermukke or hive audio. his record debut on sirion in 2012 another breakthrough, with special mention required for the title song “disco on the dancefloor”. it’s with this song that kellerkind has definitely won the hearts of his audience and thus left a lasting aftertaste which continues until today. his fourth ep on sirion with the promising title “way out” builds up on the 2010 published “altro mondo ep”. three reduced techhouse tracks promising pure dancefloor feeling with finely assorted forward directional sound elements and smooth deepness. the slightly hypnotic vocal smasher in christian nielsen remix carries nicely with the three tracks in every way and completes the catalog number 42 elegantly.

the last sound carrier was based around the notion of intrepid intergalactic explorers trying to get to earth, this time we’re taken 10.000 leagues below the surface to trawl the deep sea. all the way down there, we experience increased pressure, sub-zero temperatures, darkness and previously undiscovered new worlds. up first we have ‘lactarius indigo mission’, which has a distinct urgency and ‘in-your-face’ bitch slap percussion. the bassline writhes under a variety of squelchy, bleepy effects, which add a layer of depth and the whole thing feels quite electro. after that *from the space to the sea* continues the electro vibes with more punchy beats, a rugged b-line and heavyweight kicks. carriers use of quirky details give this track a unique character and contagious energy.on the other side we are treated to another strange carrier creation, the laidback kepler 22b. named after the first known planet to orbit a sun within what’s known as a habitable zone, kepler 22b could well support life. the track is serene and full of optimism, a fitting soundtrack for a distant earth-like planet. minimal workout * diver level 1000* closes the ep with its unusual arrangement and simple yet deadly programming. another addition to the impressive sound carrier catalogue and perhaps its most leftfield so far

in the last few years imugem has really impressed us with a constant output of versatile techno, so we are proud to add him to the label roster. he delivers a great ep once again, including a tripped out remix by dutch native deniro, who has been on fire with a string of releases on tape amsterdam, nina kraviz &#1090,,,&#1088,,,&#1080,,,&#1087,,, records and dekmantel.

our french friend steven wobblejay strikes back! after the sublime shake your tingsz ep (qe 45), steve presents again some dope deep raw tunes. lots of old school flava with a new school twist! his partnership with pablo valentino as creative swing alliance (wolf music, faces, tsuba a.o.) has been a great base for developping his own style. another great talent is past, present and future quintessentials artist mat chiavaroli, who’s delivering a rugged and freestylish remix. hang out - the way we love it!

finale sessions is excited to have another parisian on our superb roster and janeret is not one to sleep on that s for sure. so we are getting right to the music with the first track midnight soul one of my favorites for sure with its beautiful keys and its rich pads and it s enormous bass this track is a latenight beater for sure. track two-contrast-is more on the techier side of things with more pads and a think basline no question a floor pumper it also has really nice drums to flavor that nice vocal. track three subdub this track is more for the dub techno crowd for sure with its super deep chords and its deep sub ambiance sound track four ehtereal electro madness is i am going to say

mdrnty has been a recognized swiss music event brand for the last 10 years, developing daytime electronic music events in the most outstanding locations of the swiss alps. 2016 marks the beginning of a new adventure with the launching of its own music label, showcasing a network of artists closely related to the festival.

repress !! metaphysik brings ancient methods and theologian together into one sphere, with the intention to juxtapose their energy and aesthetic elements alike. as both commenced as strangers and worked separately, the split has developed, gravitating naturally towards the themes of love and death.

sebastian fiegen rolls out his debut solo release for cadenza records this spring, with a trio of excellent house cuts on the theofidelity ep. the german producer has been crafting quality productions for some time now under aliases and collaborations, and its on lucianos label where he makes his mark as a solo artist. dopeman opens the ep with a rolling chi-town house style groove, a simple yet effective filtered vocal loop and sustained strings harvest the feel good vibes over its solid beats. fiegen keeps up the pace with anando, more drum led house grooves with a high production value, the vocal refrain cutting in and out of the mix whilst the simplistic bassline and woody percussion maintains the bouncing vibes. closing the ep is th01, again coming correct with the feel good factor with its use of the looped sample and lazy, hypnotizing drums. a cracking debut production from fiegen, and a well rounded release for cadenza.

as both a producer and the helmsman of the outis music label, dino sabatini has carved out a distinctive musical style that shows a great reverence for both ancient archetypes and future possibilities for change (see, for example, his mnemosyne co-release with edit select, in which each track is dedicated to a separate greek goddess).

originally released via ascetic house in 2015, vereker’s grace tape owes much to the canon of vintage anti-music, exploring catharsis via a transgression of traditional compositional & technical values. working with the same thematic concerns of much of the more leftfield additions to the avian catalogue - in it’s more subdued moments, anxiety & dissafection, in it’s more high energy - pure hysteria - the recording pairs basic synthesis with warped vocals in the same manner as industrial progenitors throbbing gristle and steven stapleton (nurse with wound).
the reduced palette & crushed production aesthetic creates a powerful immediacy, with a twisted musicality being drawn - at times, kicking and screaming, out of the depths of the mix. like much of vereker’s best work on labels like lies & berceuse heroique, elements warp & twist uncomfortably within the tight confines of a reduced dynamic spectrum - creating a dark, heady energy. scetic house, the predominantly cassette only label, has seen appearances from la’s silent servant, northern electronics’ varg & avian’s own shifted - under his covered in sand alias.

every artistic scene is lead by their artists and kept alive by their fans, but mostly by its talents, who can look outside of the box and have a great relationship with their crowd. junior c is a great example of how this theory comes true for a dj and producer. in this ep he has worked with h.o.s.h., gui boratto and gunjah to create new approaches of his latest single “coming over” and the result are 3 different interpretations of this dance floor timeless song, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. it doesn t take much to imagine this ep owning dance floors in the months and years to come. engineered to perfection by label head gui boratto, it s an exciting step for the imprint and the project alike.

after kicking off 2016 with the massive don t need ep from callahan featuring that remix from man of-the-moment hodge, dext is back with another banger of an ep from fast rising uk producer mella dee. the man from doncaster, uk has been creating a name for himself on the scene of late with releases on redlight s lobster boy and shy fx s digital soundboy imprint, and his dext debut certainly doesn t disappoint. over the last year or so, he has been masterfully fusing 90 s jungle influences with driving house & techno percussion and his ep for us is, we think, his strongest work to date.
